Cherreads

Chapter 148 - My Hometown Is Not Here

"Hahaha! Well done!" Bob threw the wine glass in his hand and immediately stood up.

Whitebeard held the supreme great sword, Murakumogiri, in his hand.

The blade was surrounded by an aura of domineering power and the ability of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit was attached to the blade.

The cherry blossoms on the ground were swept into the air by the released airflow, looking as if someone had scattered endless petals from the sky.

The ground beneath Whitebeard feet cracked and a loud explosion echoed.

He knew Bob strength well and was certain that he could handle his full-power strike, so he held nothing back.

In the next moment, the great sword, carrying a terrifying majesty, slashed directly towards Bob.

"Ding!!"

A sound of blade vibration rang out, resonating across the island. Bob single-handedly grasped Whitebeard supreme great sword, Murakumogiri.

In his palm, Murakumogiri kept trembling incessantly, the sound continuously emanating, as if it were calling out for help to its master.

Cracks in space spread around Bob fist, yet they had no effect on him whatsoever.

All the force was completely neutralized by Bob palm.

Seeing this, Whitebeard eyes narrowed, the veins on his arm bulging, and his aura surged even higher. He unleashed all three types of Haki.

Even at God Valley, he had never exerted himself to this extent.

He reached his peak state now.

In the next instant, Whitebeard twisted his wrist fiercely, trying to free Murakumogiri from Bob grasp.

But no matter how hard he tried, his facial features contorted with effort, yet he couldn't budge it an inch.

On the other hand, Bob expression remained completely unchanged throughout the entire process—calm and composed!

Whitebeard sighed in resignation, releasing his grip with both hands to signal his defeat.

Seeing this, Bob smiled, lifted Murakumogiri with one hand, and planted it into the ground.

The airflow surged in all directions and the cherry blossoms that had fallen to the ground were once again swept into the air.

"You, kid, are truly terrifyingly strong! You didn't give me even a sliver of hope!" Whitebeard reached out and pulled out the great sword, shaking his head as he spoke.

He knew that Bob strength was now on a completely different level from his own.

His full-power strike was effortlessly defended by Bob bare hand and it was done with such ease, without even using Haki.

It made Whitebeard sigh in awe at the vast difference between people.

"Do you think I should hold back against you?" Bob raised an eyebrow and said.

"Gurararara, I really don't know how you train! Every time you make a move, your strength is on an entirely higher level!"

"I haven't seen you do any super-intense training, yet you've become so powerful!" Whitebeard laughed heartily.

He thought there was only one possible explanation for Bob strength—talent.

A talent that surpassed everyone in this world, allowing Bob to achieve his current strength without putting in too much effort.

Hearing Whitebeard words, Bob touched his nose and smiled.

"Remember when I told you about my hometown before?"

"At the time, you even asked me where my hometown was!"

Hearing this, Whitebeard expression turned quite surprised, and then his eyes lit up.

Could this terrifying strength be related to Bob hometown?

"Yes! You didn't tell me back then!"

"Actually, my hometown isn't here!" Bob sighed and slowly said.

"Not here? Then where? Some remote area? Or an undiscovered island?" Whitebeard face showed surprise as he speculated about the location of Bob's hometown.

"Neither. It's not in this world!" Bob voice floated out lightly.

"Not in this world? What does that mean?"

Whitebeard expression grew even more puzzled.

Bob words had touched upon a blind spot in his knowledge.

Seeing Whitebeard reaction and the barrage of questions that followed, Bob raised an eyebrow.

The people of this world really lag behind in knowledge compared to those with nine years of compulsory education!

Bob cleared his throat and explained the meaning of his words in the simplest way possible.

In Whitebeard somewhat confused gaze, Bob saw the same bewildered look that a struggling student might have during class.

This made Bob regret a little.

Was it too early for Whitebeard to be exposed to such knowledge?

"So, you're saying you're from another world and the people of these two worlds can never meet?" Whitebeard summarized Bob's words and spoke up.

Hearing this, Bob picked up his wine glass and nodded.

"Exactly, you've grasped the key point!"

"Gurarara, so that's how it is!"

"You're not from this world, which is why you're so powerful!"

Whitebeard laughed heartily.

After hearing Bob explanation, he suddenly felt relieved.

Bob wasn't from this world, which explained why his strength was so unfathomable.

This helped Whitebeard regain a bit of his self-esteem, which had been slightly bruised earlier.

Hearing this, Bob was momentarily stunned but then silently accepted Whitebeard assumption.

His strength wasn't due to being from another world, of course.

After all, the people from that world were all weaklings. But he didn't feel the need to explain this to Whitebeard. It was fine for Whitebeard to think this way.

Bob feared that if he said too much, Whitebeard might not understand, which could affect his future life.

"Then I will become the strongest man in this world!" Whitebeard declared after Downing a glass of wine, his voice resonating far and wide, even reaching Kaido in the distance.

Hearing Whitebeard words, Kaido frowned and thought to himself.

"Hmph! Is he treating my Commander Bob as if he doesn't exist?"

As if hearing Kaido thoughts, Whitebeard glanced at Bob after speaking and added.

"Well, you don't count since you're not from this world, so you're not part of my goal!"

"Hahaha! You're still the master of logic!" Bob said with a laugh.

"Edward, what are your plans for the next step?"

Bob knew that Whitebeard would form a pirate crew, but he still asked, wanting to hear it directly from him.

"Me? I'm going to find my own family and form a pirate crew!" Whitebeard said slowly, his gaze fixed on the distant sea.

"Will you set off today?" Bob nodded.

"I'll leave today. Compared to life on land, the sea suits me better!"

"True, but there's one problem... Do you have the money to form a pirate crew?" Bob frowned slightly.

"Building a pirate ship, daily expenses on board, and so on—all of that requires money!"

Upon hearing Bob words, Whitebeard was momentarily stunned.

It seemed he had never really considered this issue before, and his mouth twitched involuntarily.

Although, as the commander of the Rocks Pirates, he had amassed a considerable amount of treasure, most of it had been left for his hometown.

Now, all he had left was a bit of money for buying drinks.

"Uh..." Whitebeard felt at a loss for words after hearing Bob remark.

Seeing Whitebeard struggle to respond, Bob shook his head.

Under Bob persistent insistence, Whitebeard finally agreed to take a portion of the treasure from him as the initial funds to establish the pirate crew.

And so, Whitebeard set forth into his grand era on the seas.
