Honestly, Shaan knew that Nalira and Chelsie were in the same beta group as him, but he simply did not expect to meet these two women. The two beautiful women's figures became clearer as they walked towards Shaan.
Nalira, wearing an armored crop top with a dark red chest and shoulder armor, was seen walking while holding her sword. She was also seen wearing a layered white skirt and high boots with black stockings that reached up to her thighs, making her figure look elegant and bold.
On the other hand, Shaan can also see Chelsie's dress style, which looks simpler than Nalira's. She only wore a short green and white dress and a pair of black boots. Not only that, there was also a cross-shaped pendant hanging around her neck.
"Ah, at least I 've discovered the existence of another Daemonist," Shaan excitedly expressed. "By the way, their appearance also turned out to be quite cool as a Daemonist." He glanced down at himself. Unlike me, I just have a plain gray hoodie and black pants. Nothing about this says 'Daemonist' at all."
[Hey, what are you doing standing here? Hurry up and say hello to them.] Robin Hood patted Shaan on the shoulder.
'Yes, your words are true Robin Hood." Shaan nodded his head. "I will call them. I'm sure they'll be happy to see another daemonist."
Shaan instantly waved his hand in the distance, and strangely, the two women stopped in their tracks. Instead of getting a warm smile from them, He got a wary and suspicious look from both of them. Strange, what's going on?
"You're not one of them, are you?" Nalira pointed her sword, looking at Shaan with a cynical gaze.
"Huh? What kind of question is that? I don't understand what you're saying at all."
"I'll ask again. Are you not one of the dark creatures?"
"No, my name is Shaan Devansh, and I'm not one of those dark creatures you mentioned."
"Lira, it seems that he is indeed Shaan Devansh," Chelsie tried to convince Nalira. "I've also met him before."
"I've also met this guy before, but we shouldn't believe everything we see too easily, Chelsie. A doppleshade can mimic a person's appearance perfectly."
'Doppleshade?' Shaan furrowed his brow. 'Oh, crap. I've read a description of that creature. A doppleshade is a dark creature which can mimic anything it sees.'
"Wait, wait. This must be a misunderstanding. It's me and I'm not a Doppleshade." Shaan instantly showed the symbol on his palm. "See, I have the seven virtues symbol just like any other daemonist."
"Lira, that symbol is indeed the seven virtues symbol just like ours," Chelsie said as she tried to convince Nalira. "I think he's the real Shaan and is a Daemonist just like us."
"All Doppleshades can copy the exact look of a daemonist like us. Even our seven virtues symbol."
'Jeez, she is indeed a stubborn woman.'
"Uhmm, yeah, what you said is true, Lira," Chelsie nodded. "Oh, right—I have an idea. How about you show us your special ability? A Doppleshade wouldn't be able to mimic something like that."
"Right. That sounds like a good idea, Chelsie," Nalira nodded in agreement. "Show us your special power, and we'll believe you're not a Doppleshade."
"S-special ability?" Shaan froze for a moment. 'Damn, I haven't gotten my special powers yet. How can I convince them that I'm a doppleshade?'
"What's wrong? Why are you just standing there?" Nalira narrowed her eyes, noticing the tension on Shaan's face. "If you're not a Doppleshade, then you should be able to show us your special ability." She slowly drew her sword. "If you can't show your special abilities, it means you are indeed a doppleshade."
"Wait—hold on! Don't jump to conclusions!" Shaan quickly held up his hands to stop her. "I-I am a Daemonist, but I haven't gotten my special power at all until now."
Hearing it, Nalira and Chelsie directly looked at each other. Surely this sounded quite strange because almost all daemonists should already have special powers to be able to protect themselves from the threat of dark creatures.
"Chelsie, what do you think?" Nalira asked cautiously. "Should we believe what this guy's saying?"
"Uhmm, I-I have heard that in some rare cases, a Daemonist might take a long time to awaken their special ability," Chelsie explained. "But it's extremely rare, and only a few individuals ever experience it."
"Nalira, I believe the Shaan standing in front of us isn't a Doppleshade like we thought."
"...."
Shaan let out a long breath. "Alright then. If you still don't trust me, I'll summon my Daemon—and you can judge for yourselves whether I'm a Doppleshade or not."
Without wasting any time, Shaan activated his power and successfully summoned Robin Hood. Nalira remained silent, not saying a single word.
Chelsie, on the other hand, gave at least some kind of response—she nodded slightly.
"Alright. At the very least, you've made an effort to prove you're not a Doppleshade."
'Thank goodness they believed me. I honestly have no idea what I would've done if they hadn't.'
Shaan cleared his throat, breaking the awkward silence between the three of them.
"So, have you met any other Daemonists?"
Chelsie shook her head. "We did come across a few other Daemonists... but unfortunately, most of them have been killed by the Doppleshade. That creature disguised itself as one of Daemonists and started killing them off one by one."
"Exactly," Nalira added. "And the worst part is, the Doppleshade responsible for all of this chaos managed to escape and vanish without a trace."
'Damn... I didn't realize the Doppleshade had caused this much destruction.'
"That's why we've decided to track down the dark entity responsible for opening the portal—defeat it before the Doppleshade shows up again and makes things even worse."
"Yeah... that does make sense," Shaan muttered, scratching his head.
"Hey, by the way... would it be alright if I joined you in the search for that dark creature?"
Chelsie glanced at Nalira. "Lira, so what do you think?"
"…."
'Damn, what's wrong with her? Why isn't she saying anything?'
"Hmm… alright. She can come with us, but..."
'But what? What is Nalira really trying to say?'
