Chapter 71
Aaron returned to the living room with a deep scowl settled across his face, his jaw tight from the conversation he just had with his mother. He didn't need his mother pestering him about claiming the kids and filing a lawsuit. Lawsuit for what?
He didn't want to argue or be angry this night—not when Katherine's scent still lingered faintly in the house—and he couldn't wait to throw Amanda out for stretching the air with her perfume.
Aaron slumped into the sofa, rubbing the bridge of his nose before reaching for the glass of wine he left earlier. Wanting to finish the drinking excuse quickly, he gulped down the wine, barely noticing the taste nor the look on Amanda's face. He just needed the drink to wash out the irritation brimming in him.
