Preparations took another level. The kingdom was ready for its new king. Banners hung in the air, chandeliers brighter than ever. It was going to be a new dawn.
Within the Western Tower, Elias and Kim were packed in the shadows. They prepared away from the eyes of others. Elias made sure to get enough rest—his body couldn't be weak on such an occasion. On the second night, everything was set, and all that was left was for time to tick and the moon to rise.
Elias couldn't bring himself to sleep. Taking a night walk, his legs soon found their way to the eastern part of the palace. The familiar walls stared back at him.
"Do you think he will miss me?" he asked, and Kim, who followed closely behind him, nodded, despite knowing Elias couldn't see it.
"The prince is bound by duty, but deep down he cares about you, Consort," Kim added.
