Chapter 93 - Volume 1 Chapter 93: A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

"Have you heard? Our counselor is actually a pervert..."

"What? No way! The counselor always seemed so nice."

"It's true. The police took him away for questioning this afternoon. Look on the forum; someone exposed him, and it was our vice class monitor."

"Holy crap! The vice class monitor is that brave?"

During the afternoon class, the teacher lectured on the topic at hand, but the students were busy gossiping about the drama that had unfolded at noon.

Wen Yang was jittery, nervously bouncing his leg under the desk.

He couldn't focus on the lesson, anxiously waiting for the investigation to yield some results.

His gaze lingered on Ning Chu, who sat in the front row with Yan Xinya.

A strange, uncomfortable feeling gnawed at him.

Why did he feel uneasy whenever Ning Chu talked to either a guy or even a girl?

"What the heck! Something this juicy happened, and you didn't call me?" Zhang Shaoqing suddenly slung an arm around Wen Yang's neck, grinning. "What's going on? Spill the tea!"

"No results yet."

"Well, he's got to get at least ten years, right? I always knew the counselor was shady! I even cursed him out in the group chat last time!"

"Actually, we don't have any evidence yet; they haven't even filed a case," Wen Yang replied, showing Yan Xinya's phone. "I tried recovering her chat history at noon, but no luck."

"There aren't any other victims coming forward in the forum thread, either, which makes things even trickier."

Zhang Shaoqing's eyes gleamed. "Leave it to me! These things are all about knowing the right people."

Wang Jie chimed in sarcastically, "You just love getting involved in drama, don't you?"

"This is thrilling, man! I'm fired up!"

Both Wen Yang and Wang Jie rolled their eyes at him.

"Hey, you think I could be a cop after graduation? Imagine all the exciting cases I could work on!"

"With your mindset? You'd never even make it past the entrance."

"Pfft! There's nothing I can't do once I set my mind to it," Zhang Shaoqing scoffed. His eyes wandered over to Ning Chu and Yan Xinya in the front row.

He teased Wen Yang, "What's going on with you? Ning Chu won't let you date or even talk to other girls, and now he's getting close to someone else?"

Wen Yang didn't respond, simply letting out a heavy sigh.

Up front, Ning Chu was also sighing, his upper body slumped over the desk.

He had no interest in the lecture, and even though he had a pretty girl with beast ears beside him, his mind was far from happy thoughts.

This was his first time being this close to a girl since crossing over, but he felt nothing but frustration.

This time around, even if he didn't transform fully into a girl, his manhood was almost certainly gone.

Yan Xinya also had no mind for class.

She kept glancing at Ning Chu, curious about the infamous guy who was living in the boys' dorm and rumored to have stolen class heartthrob Wen Yang.

Ning Chu's reputation among the girls was terrible, painted as the ultimate homewrecker.

Someone in class was even rumored to be writing a R18+ story about him and Wen Yang, and Yan Xinya had been eager to read it once it was done.

But after spending some time with him today, she found Ning Chu quite pleasant to be around—and indeed, involved with Wen Yang.

Noticing Ning Chu's gloomy expression, she asked softly, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just a stomachache."

Yan Xinya's gaze dropped to his abdomen, noticing the hand-warming pad pressed against his stomach. "Are you on your period?"

"I'm a guy…"

He had never felt less confident saying that.

Yan Xinya's nose twitched as she picked up the faint scent of estrogen coming from Ning Chu. "You're a girl."

"…"

"Did he harass you too?"

"Yeah. Started with professional stuff, then it got personal. He even called me to his office this morning."

"Same thing happened to me…" Yan Xinya's eyes dimmed. "But when he tried to touch me, I pinned him to the desk."

Ning Chu's eye twitched. Then why were you crying earlier?

If he had that kind of strength, any unwanted advances would be met with a punch first and questions later.

But Yan Xinya was still a girl, and it was normal for her to panic when faced with this kind of situation.

He swallowed his sorrow and tried to comfort her. "It's okay now. He'll definitely end up behind bars."

"I hope so."

Knock, knock, knock!

A middle-aged man appeared at the classroom door.

He awkwardly waved at the teacher, who paused the lesson. "Sorry to interrupt, but I need a word with a few students."

"Yan Xinya, Wen Yang, Ning Chu—please come with me."

Ning Chu felt most of the class's eyes land on him, making him uncomfortable.

He slumped further down onto his desk.

Yan Xinya gently nudged his shoulder. "The teacher called us."

"You and Wen Yang can go. I'll stay—I've got a bad stomachache."

"Okay then…"

Ning Chu could guess what it was about and didn't want to get dragged into it.

His role was to stir the pot; Wen Yang, the male lead, was supposed to handle the aftermath.

He was just a side character helping set the stage.

Things were falling apart this week! Every bit of his effort wasted!

He buried his face in his arms, regretting his moment of compassion that pulled him into this mess.

Well, at least Han Jingye's arc would be cut short—either he'd end up in jail or be expelled, erasing the "wolf in sheep's clothing" from the story altogether.

One step closer to his escape.

He couldn't even take care of himself, yet here he was, trying to save others...

The bell rang.

An excited voice neared: "Ning Chu! Holy crap, next time something like this happens, count me in!"

Still lying on the desk, Ning Chu kept his head down.

"Hey, why did Wen Yang and the vice class monitor get called out? Do you know?"

"Probably some hush money deal…"

"That won't do! Should I pay a couple of influencers to make a fuss?"

Ning Chu looked up and shot Zhang Shaoqing a glare. "You just want to watch the world burn, don't you?"

"What are you talking about? I'm just trying to help!"

As Ning Chu sneezed suddenly, the pain in his abdomen flared up sharply.

Heaven's punishment was swift...

Looks like things were settled.

He relaxed slightly, though the pain left his face pale.

"Should we take you to the infirmary?" Wang Jie, ever the responsible one, noticed his discomfort. "You've been hurting for days. Better get checked out so it doesn't turn into something serious."

"It's nothing, just stomach issues. My eating habits ruined my gut."

"Or maybe it's your time of the month~" Zhang Shaoqing teased. "I looked it up—painkillers make stomach problems worse."

Unable to explain himself, Ning Chu snapped, "Mind your own damn business!"
