Chapter 118 - Chapter 118: The Night of Slaughter

Kakashi felt a tingling sensation on his scalp as he was being scrutinized by Haruki and Tsunade.

He had never heard that they could use Wood Release.

All kinds of strange thoughts welled up in his mind.

Since he had witnessed their secret, would he be silenced?

Kakashi resisted the urge to run away.

Because running away would be useless.

He let out a breath and forced himself to calm down.

"Teacher, I just happened to pass by. I originally planned to find a quiet place to practice swordsmanship."

"Practicing? Is Sakumo out on another duties again?"

Haruki knew that Sakumo Hatake was a typical duties fanatic.

He was often away from home.

"Yeah."

Kakashi nodded upon hearing this, and at the same time, the tension in his heart faded. He could tell from Haruki's tone that it was the same as usual.

"I'm friends with Sakumo and also your [school] teacher. Since I've got nothing much to do recently, I can give you some guidance."

Haruki pondered for a moment and said.

Anyway, it didn't matter if he taught one more person, as he was already teaching Tsunade.

In the original story, Kakashi was held back by the [Sharingan], which made his body extremely weak. He often ran out of [Chakra] and became a benchmark for [Chakra Reserves Amount].

But in fact, he had very high talent.

Excluding those with bloodline advantages, Kakashi was definitely no less talented than Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Kakashi couldn't help but widen his eyes.

He admired Haruki very much because of Obito.

In just one month, Obito seemed to have undergone a complete transformation.

Putting aside his cute [Cross - dressing].

Both his personality and behavior had matured and he had become more like an adult.

If he could accept these changes, then Obito's strength, which was skyrocketing and catching up with him, was like his Dad's [Taijutsu] [Ultimate Art], [One Thousand Years of Death]. He was always worried that Obito's strength would catch up with him.

After becoming interested, Kakashi followed Obito for a few days and found the reason.

It was the guidance from Haruki and his three Apprentices.

To be honest, he used to think that an idiot like Obito was a lost cause.

But unexpectedly, he could actually be saved.

This really shocked Kakashi.

"Thank you, Teacher!"

After coming back to his senses, Kakashi readily agreed, speaking so fast that he was afraid Haruki would change his mind.

Haruki couldn't help but smile.

He thought for a moment and asked, "Do you know the [Shadow Clone Jutsu]?"

"I know about it, but I don't have enough [Chakra]." Kakashi answered honestly.

"Not enough [Chakra] can be trained."

Haruki knew that Kakashi's [Chakra Reserves Amount] was actually at a normal level, but the non - closable [Sharingan] was a drawback that constantly drained his [Chakra].

But he didn't have the [Sharingan] now.

As long as he was properly trained and with the intensive stimulation of [Military Rations Pill] and [Medical Ninjutsu], his [Chakra Reserves Amount] could be increased.

Currently, the most suitable training was [Taijutsu] and [Chakra] control.

If Naruto Uzumaki was a mage, then Kakashi was destined to be a warrior.

Haruki had a preliminary idea. Kakashi could definitely combine swordsmanship with [Lightning Release] and become a swift fighter, just like Fubuki Kakuyoku.

He told Tsunade to go home first and led Kakashi to a fruit store.

"Your training today is to cut fruits."

Haruki picked up a [watermelon], tossed it into the air, and [Chakra] welled up in his palm and formed into [wire].

The next moment, blue light danced, and the watermelon was instantly sliced into sixty-four pieces.

The cuts were smooth, with no unevenness.

Kakashi was a little dazed.

Being able to achieve this in such a short moment meant that Haruki had extremely strong Chakra Control.

Haruki patted him on the shoulder and didn't say anything more.

While Kakashi was acting like a Fruit Ninja, Haruki went to the Research institute to borrow large batteries.

Hanging one on Kakashi's back, Haruki said, "Your second training is to inject Lightning-style Chakra into the battery. But be careful, once it's too full, it'll explode."

Kakashi looked at the storage batteries that Haruki continuously poured out from the Storage Scroll in confusion, and his eyes gradually went blank.

He strongly suspected that Haruki was treating him like a human generator.

"Let's start with twenty for now."

Haruki raised the corner of his mouth, stopped what he was doing, and took out an empty Storage Scroll to give to Kakashi.

Just like that, Kakashi started his training of "tormenting" fruits.

At first, it was large watermelons, and gradually it shifted to smaller fruits like bananas and cherries.

Meanwhile, Haruki welcomed the return of Kushina Uzumaki outside the village.

"Eh?"

Kushina rubbed her eyes and puffed out her cheeks like a balloon. "Why is it only you, Teacher? Where's Mikoto?"

"She can't spare the time for now." Haruki smiled and handed her a piece of watermelon. "Just cut. Have a taste."

"What's Mikoto busy with?" Kushina was a bit confused.

She picked up the watermelon and took a bite. Red juice splashed everywhere.

"It's a long story. She's waiting for you to come back and help her."

"Really?"

Kushina's eyes lit up. She quickly finished the watermelon, and a layer of moisture appeared on her mouth.

She suddenly realized that she was actually useful.

To be honest, having such excellent teammates was also a big headache. She often had to take it easy.

After Haruki told her to wipe her mouth, he took her to the outside of the Uchiha compound.

It was nearing dusk, and it was very quiet.

Mikoto and Fugaku appeared in front of the two of them.

"Kushina."

Mikoto, who had looked gloomy in recent days, showed a smile on her face.

Then she was hugged by Kushina.

"Um~ Ah~"

Kushina rubbed against her in her arms. "Did you miss me?"

"Yes."

Mikoto let her act like a spoilt daughter.

Fugaku beside them showed an envious look.

He'd never even hugged her.

This chapter isn't finished yet!

But he couldn't be jealous either, after all, it was the friendship between two good sisters.

Haruki noticed the overly quiet street. His Sensor ability spread, and he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

Almost all the Uchiha had gathered in the shrine.

He didn't know what excuse Mikoto and Fugaku had used.

But their statuses really wouldn't arouse suspicion.

One was the next clan head, and the other was the next clan head's wife.

It could be described in one sentence: Your Majesty, why plot a rebellion?

"Kushina, I need you to help me shield my Chakra aura."

Mikoto pulled Kushina to the surroundings of the compound to set up a barrier.

"Fugaku, do you regret it?"

Haruki watched as Mikoto and Kushina disappeared in the setting sun, the world being dyed red.

Fugaku was slightly stunned when he heard Haruki's question.

Regret?

It was difficult for him to articulate what he was feeling in his heart.

It was incredibly complex.

The past him and the present him seemed to be at war within his mind.

Fugaku kept recalling the lesson Haruki had taught him in the Genjutsu.

"If the Uchiha can have a bright future because of this, I won't regret it."

Haruki gave him a sidelong glance, always thinking he was being rather awkward.

It was like a naughty student who knew the importance of studying but just refused to study.

"Just follow your heart."

Haruki lifted his eyes. In his Sensor perception, an invisible barrier was unfolding.

Konoha Village itself had a barrier.

But according to the original plot, this barrier might just be a psychological comfort.

How much of a role it could play was like Schrödinger's cat.

Mikoto and Kushina appeared again.

"I'll fight with Fugaku. Teacher and Kushina, stay here to help us with Kazekage."

Mikoto's eyes began to spin.

Her eyes were filled with the triangular - shield - shaped Mangekyo Sharingan.

There was a chilling coldness in the scarlet of her eyes.

"Kushina, don't look."

She gave a slight smile and turned to enter the shrine.
