What the… What kind of madness is this!? What's going on!?
No way, something's gotta be wrong… This can't be right… Or, wait, was it always like this from the start!?
Rumble! Creak!
Buildings reduced to rubble, corpses of people lying in pools of blood everywhere… Roars and screeches echo from dozens of monsters—LV.300-500 beasts that belong in ultra-dangerous forests—rampaging through a high-risk city meant for LV.100-200.
Amid the wreckage, a plain-looking young hero clutches the severed head of a young woman tightly.
His face is twisted in grief, tears streaming endlessly.
"GAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!"
"Ric! RIC!! The monsters are coming back this way! Can you hear me, RIC!?"
"Please!!! Do something to bring her back!! Anything! Take my life if you have to, Goddess!! Isn't this a game-like isekai world!? Bring her back, PLEASE!!!!"
SLAP!
"Snap out of it, you idiot!! If you don't escape now and die, her death will be for nothing! Stop losing it and RUN, you moron!!!!"
Day 572 in this world
Continent 2
What do you imagine when you think of a new continent? Sure, the city layouts, dungeon locations, and monster habitats are different… The tech and lifestyles aren't that different, but you can still feel a slight shift.
But the rest—climate, untouched areas, places no one messes with—everything's so eerily identical it's shocking. Or rather, the world's creator was lazy as heck, copy-pasting landscapes down to the last pixel without even flipping left to right!
Yup, I'm saying village locations, people in cities, trees, dungeons, and some monster types vary because living things adapt differently here, like dungeon logic.
But if you take a Bird's Eye View, soaring above and comparing, the terrain—mountains, rivers, heights—any spot untouched by people or time's influence is identical! I'm starting to believe this world was "designed to be this way" rather than "evolved into this."
Whoooosh~~~~
A little Bipe is flying through the skies toward the "former city" in the southern part of this continent. Honestly, it's practically the same spot as Taraz City on Continent 1. Keep flying straight, and you'd hit the next, riskier city from that continent.
After infiltrating with various bodies, spawning lifeless drones that follow Dungeon commands, traveling 24/7, tossing worthless items like pebbles, scrap metal, or junk along the way—if a body breaks, I swap it out—I've mapped about 20% of the continent in nearly 4 months.
Truth be told, Continent 2 is way wilder than Continent 1. Especially the level gaps—high-level forests and dungeons aren't far off, so LV.300+ monsters often cross into lower-level zones.
Take this city on Continent 2 that my Bipe is about to reach…
Whoosh!
Thwack!
"COO!!!"
AHHHHHHHH~~~~~!!!!
Whoooosh! Splat…
"Yo, nice shot!"
"Freaking awesome, dude! Hitting that while marching?"
"Haha, pure skill!"
"Bet you pumped DEX hard, huh?"
"Those Bipe are trash anyway, haha!"
Poof! I spawn another Bipe from a pebble I left in a dungeon 1 km back…
You lunatics! Shooting arrows at me outta nowhere!? My HP's under 200, and you deal 1000+ damage? That's like killing me five times over… These guys' levels are no joke…
Where was I? Oh, those jerk adventurers made me forget what I was saying… Right, the spot where I got shot was a footpath between two cities. I don't know much about this city yet.
But what's glaringly obvious is that thousands of adventurers are slowly marching toward the next city, not far from them now…
Bipe (me) decides to glide toward the city…
Whoosh!
Thwack!
"COO!!!"
AHHHHHHHH~~~~~!!!!
LET ME NARRATE FIRST, DANG IT!!!!
Whoooosh! Splat…
Flap, flap, flap
The third Bipe of this chapter perches on a crumbling, dilapidated watchtower above the target city's walls, the destination of those thousands of adventurers, and peers down…
"Coo, coo, coo…"
Bipe (me) goes wide-eyed at the sight…
This city's a total ruin… Worse, it's crawling with tons of monsters… After scanning their data, I confirm these are ultra-dangerous LV.300-500 beasts. But the corpses I checked? Average LV.100, barely higher…
This is insane… Was this city overrun by monsters? How!? I probe their thoughts—these monsters seem dazed, confused, like they don't know why they attacked. The people's corpses only knew that these monsters suddenly invaded…
If I sum up this crazy situation quick, it means…
The city got taken over by ultra-dangerous monsters, and now thousands of high-level adventurers are coming to reclaim it and settle here? What kind of madness is this!?
"GAAAAHHHH!!!!"
"COO!!!"
CRUNCH!
WHOA!!
A monster clinging to the wall suddenly swipes its tail at Bipe (me).
Nearly died there… Good thing I noticed in time, haha! Take that, you dumb LV.300+ monster—outplayed by a LV.8 Bipe! Bet you're embarrassed now!
Whoosh!
Thwack!
"COO!!!"
AHHHHHHHH~~~~~!!!!
WHY'D YOU SHOOT ME WHEN I'M RIGHT BY THE CITY!? I WAS TRYING TO HELP YOU GUYS, YOU STUPID ARCHER!!!!
Whoooosh! Splat…
End of Chapter 62
This City Was Taken Over by Monsters?
