Chapter 109 - Chapter 110: Alex Invades the Pentagon

Outside the Pentagon.

"So this is the Pentagon, huh?"

The White Queen looked up at the imposing structure—a symbol of the highest authority in the United States and one of its most iconic buildings—and couldn't help but shrug.

"Shaw once dreamed that after wiping out humanity, he'd make this place the headquarters of our club."

Turning to look at her companions, the White Queen recalled Shaw's lofty ambitions and sighed with mixed feelings.

"This place, as a headquarters? Then what about the White House?"

Vanessa, aka Copycat, asked curiously.

If we're talking about the most symbolic building in the country, surely the White House wins hands down?

"That would be our home."

Alex: "…"

Raven: "…"

Copycat: "…"

Everyone was left a little speechless by Shaw's grand vision. That guy really knew how to dream big—an absolute daydreamer.

"Ambitious, I'll give him that."

Even Alex couldn't help but nod in silent approval. Shaw really did have delusions of grandeur.

"And yet here we are…" the White Queen mused. "It's not Shaw invading this place today—it's you. His former enemy."

The irony was rich. The man who once opposed Shaw was now achieving what Shaw could only dream of. Fate was funny that way.

"Emma, if it's all the same to you, could we maybe not use the word 'invade'?"

Raven said seriously. "You make it sound like we're the villains in some movie."

"Raven, we are the villains," Copycat said, spreading her hands. "Honestly, we're doing worse than most movie bad guys!"

Despite the fact that what they were about to do was bold, dangerous, and arguably insane, no one seemed the least bit concerned.

Because they knew they could pull it off.

As the women casually bantered around him, Alex activated his super hearing and x-ray vision, instantly surveying the interior of the building. Every word spoken, every move made in the conference room—they were all laid bare to him.

Unfortunately, the president wasn't there.

A slight disappointment flickered across Alex's face. Still, with that many top brass gathered, it was more than enough.

"Alright, ladies, time to get to work!"

Alex clapped his hands, rallying the group.

"Tch, even now, I still think this thing is ugly."

The White Queen scowled as she retrieved a compact neural amplifier from the car and snapped it onto her forehead.

Within seconds, she could sense nearly every person within a five-kilometer radius.

Then, with a simple thought, she unleashed her power—implanting an illusion in everyone's mind.

An illusion where the four of them didn't exist at all.

So, the four of them strolled right up to the Pentagon like they were out for a casual walk, heading straight to the conference room where the nation's leaders were gathered.

A few elite agents were stationed in the hallway, of course—but under the White Queen's illusion, they couldn't see or hear a thing.

They might as well have been deaf and blind.

"Raven, Vanessa, you two stay out here and cover us,"

Alex said, ignoring the entranced guards as if they didn't exist.

"Don't worry, Alex!"

"We've got this."

With a shared nod, Raven and Copycat activated their powers, morphing into the likenesses of two Pentagon security agents.

Although the illusion made it virtually impossible for anyone to spot them, having a failsafe on the outside was just smart tactics—especially if something unexpected happened.

That's why Alex had brought Raven and Copycat, even though technically, he and the White Queen alone would've been enough for this mission.

Bang!

Alex didn't waste another word. He kicked open the conference room door with a dramatic flair.

The moment the door swung open, the voice of the Secretary of Defense practically exploded into the room.

"We must eliminate all mutants!"

"Especially this guy—"

CRACK!

His words were abruptly cut short—like someone had sliced through them with a blade.

He was still holding up a photo, jabbing his finger into the image of Alex's face, emphatically making his case to the others.

But Alex had just walked in.

Eyes wide, mouth agape, the Secretary of Defense froze in utter disbelief.

Swish swish swish!

A dozen shocked stares followed his lead, every gaze in the room locking onto Alex and the White Queen.

Expressions shifted rapidly—disbelief, confusion, alarm.

"Who are you?! How did you get in here?! Guards! GUARDS!"

The Secretary's voice rose in panic, shouting for security.

But no one came.

The elite guards who normally responded in seconds were dead silent. Not even a footstep echoed in the hallway.

Something was very, very wrong.

"Sir… I think… it's him!"

A voice trembled nearby.

One of the officials pointed to the photo in the Secretary's hand, swallowing hard. Moments ago, they'd all been talking about this man, vaguely feeling he looked familiar.

But now that he was standing right in front of them…

They remembered. They recognized.

It was him.

Dozens of heads slowly turned to face Director Hansen, silently demanding confirmation.

Hansen's eyes were locked on Alex, his expression a tangled mess of shock, anger, disbelief, and deep unease.

Under the weight of their scrutiny, Hansen finally nodded.

"It's him."

It really was.

The entire conference room erupted in chaos.

Even these composed, high-ranking officials—people used to keeping their cool—couldn't stay calm now.

The man who had just wrecked the Intelligence Agency's headquarters… had walked right into their inner sanctum!

Bold didn't even begin to describe it.

He didn't give a damn about their authority.
