"Aren't you gonna come in and meet Hailey since you're already here, maybe have dinner with the family?" Liam asked with a smile.
In the end he decided not to say anything.
"No, I don't think she would appreciate it if I dropped in so suddenly... maybe another day" Dylan said.
"Alright, maybe another day" Liam said maintaining his smile before letting the door shut.
"Too soon" Liam murmured as he turned around and walked towards his house with the book in hand.
Liam glanced at his system's daily missions and noticed that he could repeat them again today after the refresh.
This allowed Liam to take his mind off the complexities of interpersonal relationships and whether he should intervene or let it happen.
As he arrived at the front gate, Liam tried to open the door but it was locked so he had to ring the bell.
He waited a few seconds before the door opened revealing Claire.
"Hey Liam yo--" Claire spoke casually but froze when she looked at Liam.
Liam glanced around wondering if there was something wrong.
"What's the matter?" He asked, confused.
The book was hiding beneath his t-shirt.
"Take a look at yourself in the mirror and take a bath" Claire said as she stepped aside.
Liam glanced at Claire, he stepped on the staircase and made his way up and with a quick turn to the left he entered the washroom.
Stepping inside he caught sight of himself.
The washroom light illuminated every crease of soot-covered fabric, face and hands.
"I see..this is what she was talking about." Liam murmured as he quietly put the book aside and cleaned himself up.
Later on after keeping the book under his mattress and the Medallion inside his Pillow covers he exited his room.
Glancing towards Haley's room as her loud laughs attracted him, he saw her doing her usual routine, talking to Dylan, Liam did not give it a second thought at this point.
"I do not want to think about it" Liam thought to himself as he made his way down the stairs.
"Hey Dad, you're up," Liam said as he hopped onto the couch.
"Hey Buddy, how was the exploration?" Phil asked as he came over and gave Liam a High Five.
"Exploration?" Liam asked a little confused.
"How do they know?" He thought to himself as he glanced around.
"They already know Liam, Haley was here with us while you had run away with her boyfriend Dylan to explore some old burnt down house, She is so annoying" Alex said while rubbing her temples.
"Seriously, we've had enough drama for one night," Alex groaned
Liam glanced at her and could tell she was exhausted.
"Is it really that exhausting being around Haley for Alex" Liam murmured with a bit of a chuckle.
"Cmon Alex, she wasn't that bad" Claire said from the kitchen.
"That Bad? All she was doing was complaining and fighting, she managed to start arguments with me and Luke within half an hour of her being down here" Alex said as she put down her pencil, ready to defend herself with her life.
"Anyways Liam, how was it?" Phil asked curiously.
"It was... very burnt down" Liam said with a bit of a nervous chuckle.
"Phil, don't encourage him, a tragedy took place there, a family unfortunately lost their lives in that fire," Claire said as she set a steaming pot on the table.
"We should not desecrate it" she said looking at Liam.
"Your mother is right, Liam" Phil said but was soon distracted by aromatic smell.
*Sniff**Sniff*
"Is that parmigiano reggiano chicken pasta?" Phil asked, when he saw Claire nod a smile appeared on his face.
Liam felt drained at this moment, it must have been Dylan who must have told Haley all about this trip and word must have spread to the rest of the family.
"So anyways I heard you got new friends, what are their names? Oh, that's right, Scott and Stiles, right?" Claire asked.
"Yeah, pretty cool dudes" Liam said.
"Alright, well let's eat some dinner, you must be exhausted," Claire said as she sat down at the table while Luke brought a few plates from the kitchen and set the table.
Haley came down at time as well.
"Oh Haley, come sit, I was just about to call for you" Claire said.
"You guys think I don't have ears?" Haley questioned as she glared at Alex who could only force a smile as she predicted where this was going.
"Girls let's have a peaceful dinner--"
"Not now, Dad," Haley interrupted Phil as she locked eyes with Alex.
"Haley, that is not the way to speak to your father. Apologize to him," Claire said.
"Not until Alex apologizes," Haley said.
"For what!" Alex exclaimed.
"For calling me Annoying," Haley said pointing her finger at Alex
"I call it as I see it" Alex said with a smug smile.
"You take that back right now" Haley said with her fist clenched.
At this time, Luke had already backed away from the table
He was a smart kid.
He knew where he should be, and where he should not.
He had sneakily managed to arrive near Phil and Liam who were quietly waiting near the couch.
"That's enough Haley" Claire said as she stood up with a little bit of strictness.
"Why are you always on her side" Haley said looking at Claire as she stormed off.
Phil, Liam and Luke, collectively let out a breath they didn't know they were holding.
"I'll prepare a plate for her" Claire said with a sigh as she sat on down once again on the chair.
Phill got up at this time as well and moved towards the table.
Liam and Luke glanced at each other for a second, almost like they were telepathically communicating, at least that's what Luke felt.
Liam had no clue
You think she's going to come back? Luke asked, almost telepathically.
"Why is he looking at me" Liam wondered staring at Luke.
He witnessed Luke nod his head at him and walk towards the table.
"O..kay?" Liam thought as he stood up as well and made his way towards the table.
