Chapter 26 - End Of War

Hahahahaha! My end is near? Good one," Sultan said, his voice thick with mockery. "Let's see who begs for mercy."

Vilex didn't respond with words. He simply gave a sharp signal — and that was all they needed.

They moved.

No talking, no hesitation.

They all knew the mission: take down Sultan.

In a flash, the battlefield exploded into chaos. Sultan slammed his hands into the ground, pulling out massive golems made of earth and shadow to fight by his side.

---

POW! POW! – Fists flying from right to left.

SLASH! SLASH! – Blaze's sword was slicing and dicing, flames trailing with every swing.

KABOOM! – A blast cracked the ground.

SLOOSH! – Vilex's arrows screamed through the air.

DUHGUHHHH! PIKEEESSHH! – Thunderstorm's lightning crashed like a god's fury.

It was a war zone.

---

Frost and Vilex were pressing Sultan hard. Their movements synced — Frost freezing openings, Vilex landing hits with perfect timing. Meanwhile, the rest were shredding through the golems.

"The fight we weren't able to have during the first confrontation..." Vilex said, ducking under a strike.

"I guess we're having it now."

Sultan scoffed, blocking a blow.

"What fight? We already did this... and I beat you two."

"You won that one," Frost said, his tone cold like his aura.

"But round two is ours."

Sultan growled, the ground cracking beneath him as dark energy surged.

"You really think you will win this round? If so then come prove it."

Vilex rushed forward without hesitation, his fist swinging. Sultan blocked it with his stone-covered arm, the impact shaking the ground.

Frost raised his hand, ice swirling around him. He slid across the battlefield like a blur and slammed his palms into Sultan's chest. A burst of frost exploded, locking Sultan's feet to the ground.

"Got you," Frost muttered.

But Sultan roared and shattered the ice in an instant. He spun and struck Frost with a powerful backhand. Frost was sent flying, skidding across the ground.

Vilex didn't miss a beat. He fired an arrow, grazing Sultan's cheek. Then he vanished, reappearing behind Sultan thanks to a quick portal Sage had left active.

"Missed me?" Vilex smirked, landing a punch to Sultan's side before spinning and delivering a clean uppercut.

Sultan caught his arm mid-air and drove a knee into Vilex's gut. Vilex winced but twisted out, flipping backward to regain distance.

Frost came sliding back into the fight, icy wind swirling behind him.

"Double him," he said sharply.

They moved in sync. Frost froze Sultan's arm mid-swing while Vilex struck his ribs with a clean roundhouse. Sultan staggered slightly.

An arrow zipped toward Sultan's head. He ducked just in time but the movement slowed him.

"I can see it," Vilex said. "You're tiring."

Sultan roared in frustration and slammed his fists into the ground. Spikes erupted from the earth around him.

Frost raised a thick wall of ice. The spikes hit and shattered with loud cracks. Vilex leapt over the ice, three arrows already notched. He fired one at Sultan's shoulder, one at his leg, and one just beside his neck.

Sultan stumbled. His breathing had grown heavier, the glow in his eyes flickering.

"You're fast," Sultan muttered, steadying himself. "But I'm done playing."

His aura spiked again, pulsing like a heartbeat. The sky above them shifted slightly, dark clouds forming.

"This fight… isn't over."

Sultan slammed both fists into the ground. The shockwave sent Frost and Vilex stumbling back.

He wasn't just strong—he was relentless.

Sparks suddenly split the air. Thunderstorm entered the fight with a roar, lightning coursing around his body. He raised both hands.

ZAP—CRACKK!

Bolts of pure electricity rained down toward Sultan.

Sultan grunted, raising a wall of stone to absorb the hit. The wall cracked but held.

Before he could recover, Vilex came flying through a portal—WHAM!—a kick straight to the chest, sending Sultan skidding back.

From behind another portal, Frost emerged with a spinning ice blast.

FWOOSH!

It struck Sultan's legs, slowing him down.

"You're not the only one getting stronger," Frost muttered.

Sage floated above, eyes glowing. He opened more portals mid-air like cracks in reality.

"Now!" he shouted.

From a portal on Sultan's right, Blaze burst out with both blades ignited in red-hot fire.

SLASH—SLASH!

Flames danced as he struck across Sultan's back.

At the same time, another portal above Sultan flickered—Dark Flame dropped through it like a meteor, his fists wrapped in intense blue fire.

BOOM!

His punch connected with Sultan's shoulder, rocking the ground.

Sultan stumbled, coughing, face grim.

"You worms…" he snarled. He raised his hand and pulled the ground apart. Huge slabs of rock flew toward the heroes.

Frost froze the first few mid-air.

Blaze melted others with a sweep of his flaming blade.

Thunderstorm zapped through the rest with arcs of lightning.

They regrouped in a semi-circle.

Sage held a portal open behind them. "Let's go—combo time!"

Frost slid through first, blasting Sultan with ice. Vilex followed right after, launching a flurry of rapid punches.

Blaze spun in, fire blades slicing.

Dark Flame came next, fists burning bright, uppercutting Sultan with full strength.

Thunderstorm dove in from above, spinning with electricity coiled around him like a storm bomb.

KRA-KOOM!

They hit Sultan together, energy exploding like a supernova.

But through the smoke… he emerged. Bruised, scorched—but still standing.

His aura pulsed, the orbs within him glowing wildly.

"You six fight well…" he growled. "But I'm not done. Not even close."

He raised both arms and from the ground, dark spikes and burning chains surged outward.

Sage narrowed his eyes. "Get ready… he's going all out."

A dark aura slowly filled the battlefield. The ground trembled beneath Sultan's feet as his energy thickened, and the corrupted glow of the orbs surged stronger than ever.

His eyes burned with disdain.

"Hahahahaha! You keep coming at me… I just want to bring this city down. Why won't you let me?" Sultan growled.

Vilex stepped forward, unwavering. "Who in their right mind would accept your twisted ldeas?"

Sultan's lips curled. "Why are my ideas always the forbidden ones? Your people destroyed mine. Now I want to return the favor, and suddenly I'm the villain?" He shook his head. "Your leaders, your system—it's all broken and corrupt."

"So your way of solving violence is to create more violence?" Frost asked, his voice calm, cold—like his power.

"Yes," Sultan said, flashing a warped grin. "Especially when the ones who hurt you feel no remorse."

Blaze scoffed. "What a dumb facade."

"This ends here," Sage said firmly, eyes glowing with magic. "Now."

A sudden blur streaked across the field.

"You guys aren't planning to finish this without us, are you?" Superbolt grinned, crackling with speed.

"Yo," Mega Panther called out from atop a building, crouched like a predator ready to pounce.

Hovering above, Hi-Tech adjusted his visor. "They're definitely not ending this without us."

Vilex allowed a smirk. "Now the whole band's here. Perfect."

Sultan's expression twisted. He raised his palm and pulled out another orb—this one darker than the rest.

"So this is it, huh? Endgame?" he hissed. "Fine. Let's finish this."

He swallowed the orb. A violent black aura flared around him like a hurricane.

Thunderstorm stepped forward. "He had another orb? This guy's full of surprises."

Sage's eyes narrowed. "Don't worry. I've got something for that."

Vilex drew his bow and spoke with resolve. "Everyone—this is it. We take him down. Together."

Everyone nodded in unison. The air pulsed with energy.

Then they moved.

Darkness crawled across the battlefield.

Sultan's aura thickened, pitch-black tendrils rising off his skin. The orb he just swallowed pulsed violently inside him, sending waves of energy through the cracked ground.

"You lots keep troubling me," he growled, voice warped by power. "I just want to bring this city down. Why won't you let me?"

Vilex stepped forward, eyes sharp. "Who would consider those ideas of yours?"

Sultan's gaze burned with rage.

"Why are my ideas the ones forbidden? Your people destroyed mine… and now I want to return the favor—and suddenly I'm the villain? Your system, your leaders… it's all corrupt!"

"So your solution to pain… is more pain?" Frost replied, ice forming at his fingertips.

"Yes!" Sultan shouted, a twisted smile curling his lips. "Especially when the ones who caused it feel no remorse."

Blaze scoffed, blades flaring up. "What a dumb façade."

"This ends here and now," Sage declared, floating above, staff glowing bright.

But then—

SWOOOSH!

A golden blur zipped past them.

"You guys aren't planning on taking him down without us, are you?" Superbolt grinned, lightning crackling around his body.

From atop a building, Mega Panther dropped down, claws drawn. "Yo."

Hi-Tech hovered in the sky, boosters flaring. "They sure won't take him down without us."

Vilex smiled wide. "Now the whole band's here. Nice."

Sultan's body began to glow—darker, denser, more unstable. "Oh, so this is the final stand, huh?" He raised both arms. "Then let's do it."

He crushed the third orb in his palm and absorbed it.

FWOOM!

A terrifying wave of energy blasted out.

Thunderstorm stepped back. "He's got another one?! This guy really is something…"

"Don't worry," Sage said. "I know what to do."

Vilex drew his bow and spoke clearly. "Guys… we take him down. Now."

Everyone nodded.

The Final Clash began.

Blitz—BOOM!

Superbolt charged first, zipping around Sultan in streaks of yellow. He landed a blow to Sultan's back and vanished before the counter.

Blaze and Dark Flame came next, fire swirling in dual colors—red and blue—launching rapid fire slashes and flame waves. Sultan raised walls of stone to block but took a few hits.

Hi-Tech launched plasma missiles from above. BOOM! BOOM! Sparks flew as Sultan barely dodged.

Frost froze the ground, and Vilex used the slick terrain to glide in, firing three arrows in one go—one hit Sultan in the shoulder.

"Now!" Sage shouted.

He opened a portal behind Sultan.

Mega Panther leapt through it, slashing at Sultan's back with enhanced claws, fast and fierce. Sultan spun, grabbing his arm, and slammed him to the ground—WHAM!

Thunderstorm followed with a full lightning surge from the sky. CRACK! The bolt struck Sultan dead on.

For a moment—it looked like they had him.

But then—

BOOM!

A wave of dark energy exploded from Sultan's chest, sending everyone flying.

"You're strong!" he yelled, breathing heavy. "But I have the pain of an entire kingdom behind me! You will not win!"

Everyone regrouped, battered but standing.

A moment of silence lingered across the battlefield. The wind held its breath.

Then—

"Now!" Sage shouted.

In a flash, Superbolt zipped across the space, carrying Sage right in front of Sultan.

Sage's palm slammed against Sultan's chest. His eyes glowed with raw magic.

The orbs began to flicker.

Suddenly, a powerful force yanked the orbs out of Sultan's body. Dark energy spiraled into the air before vanishing into Sage's conjured seal.

Sultan staggered back, stunned.

"What... what did you do to me?"

Sage's voice was calm, but firm.

"I extracted the orbs. And I sealed your powers—temporarily. That gives us time to do whatever we want with you."

He said it with satisfaction, a rare smile forming.

Sultan's eyes widened in panic. He stumbled backward, voice cracking.

"No… no, no, no! I won't go down like this. Not me! I was supposed to end you—not the other way around!"

Vilex stepped forward, eyes cold, his voice sharp as steel.

"You thought you had it all. You thought you'd stay invincible forever."

He paused, narrowing his gaze.

"Well, nothing lasts forever."

A beat.

"When you get to hell, say hi to your mom and dad for me."

Those words struck deep. Sultan's defiance cracked.

Then, with a smirk, Blaze flew forward, sword in hand, eyes locked on Sultan.

"Told you," he said, raising his blade,

"I just needed your head."

SHHK.

Sultan's head dropped.

Silence returned.
