The view from the top was spectacular, if you enjoyed looking down at confused teenagers stumbling through what was essentially an oversized maze designed by someone with a sadistic sense of humor and too much time on their hands.
From up here, the whole thing looked like a child's puzzle, all obvious solutions and predictable dead ends.
The contestants below moved like ants in a disrupted hill, scurrying from path to path with increasing desperation as the clock ticked down toward their doom.
She memorized the route in seconds—left at the broken pillar, straight past the fountain of questionable liquid, right at the statue of whatever long-dead hero they'd decided to commemorate, then a final sprint to the exit. Simple. Almost insultingly so.
She dropped down with cat-like grace and bolted.
