The forest was still, too still.
From high above in the treetops, a bat hung upside down, its black wings folded tight, its ears twitching at the slightest sound. Moira's sharp senses picked up the subtle crunch of dried leaves, the murmur of hushed voices, and the distinct scent of blood and silver.
They were close.
Enemies. Unseen. Unwelcome.
She tilted her head slightly, listening harder.
"We're almost there. I can smell the girl's magic."
"The chamber's nearby. If she's unlocked it, we don't have much time."
"We strike fast, no mercy."
Moira's heart skipped a beat. They've found the chamber.
Her glowing eyes shot toward the Cliffside below, where the chamber entrance was cleverly hidden under layers of ancient stone. Inside, Aria and the others had no idea what was coming.
She didn't hesitate.
