Chapter 12 - Hero Debut!

The next day rolled around, and today was Sunday. No one talked much yesterday. Gan knew it was a lot for everyone to take in. Not just that, but he had acquired a few new abilities from Charles Xavier and Jean Grey.

"Abilities related to the Mind are mostly within my arsenal, but there are some things the Mind Stone can't do."

"The only ability I gained from Xavier was Mind Transferral. As for Jean, I've gained more, but not much: Psionic Lightning, Psionic Flames, and Psionic Nullification."

Gan wasn't really impressed with these abilities, but his powers grew when he absorbed them. His powers stacked and evolved as he replicated them, so this added to his already powerful mind-based abilities.

This is also so for the Reality Stone's powers. The Reality Stone couldn't create matter or anything out of nowhere. Its capabilities only allowed the user to manipulate existing matter or existing realities.

However, Gan had managed to create things out of nothing, which was unprecedented and godly in its own right! He was limited by the size of his creation, which couldn't maintain its form in reality.

"The way things work for me is so different, which is unique and good for me." Gan's first goal was to collect the Infinity Stone's powers.

The next thing Gan did was his standard morning routine, which was showering, brushing his teeth, flossing, and tongue scraping.

Gan senses spread throughout the house, and he understood the situation. Tension was still running high from yesterday's revelation. His siblings were still in their rooms, asleep, or thinking about what happened yesterday.

Gan moisturized, got dressed, and left his room to grab breakfast. He simply grabbed his breakfast and went back to his room. Both his grandparents sighed because they thought Gan was bothered about yesterday, like his siblings.

"Mmm, this is amazing!" Eggs, Jelly Toast, Bacon, and some water.

Gan quickly devoured his breakfast before placing the plate on his dresser. He turned on the television and began to watch the news.

"An Urgent Hostage situation is underway; several people are being held for ransom." A woman holding a microphone appeared on Fox 5 News.

"They tried to rob a bank, but are now demanding a helicopter to escape. They said if a helicopter isn't given, they will start killing a hostage every ten minutes!" The woman's expression showed terror when she read what she was supposed to say.

"What? They're going to kill someone every ten minutes?! These guys are friggin crazy!" Gan's eyes widened in surprise. Who could even transport a helicopter in that timeframe?

He was more surprised that anyone could rob a bank like this. Gan had only seen something like this in movies. Not to mention, this world was filled with heroes, so who could be so bold?

"It was too early to be robbing banks anyway, but I guess criminals don't care about such things."

"This robbery is taking place in New Jersey. It's in a different state, but this isn't a problem for me." Gan thought that this would be the perfect time for his debut as a hero.

Gan materialized his hero outfit in a matter of seconds. He had already thought about this long ago and settled for this for now.

He donned white robes crafted from mysterious materials, edged with golden fabric. The lower part and the inside of his robes were as celestial as the night sky.

Gan sported black pants paired with white and gold footwear. His face was equally celestial, making it impossible to identify him in any way. The only recognizable characteristic was his eyes, which radiated a purple glow.

Before leaving, Gan grabbed his fork and stuck it into his hands. He found that the stainless steel fork bent against his skin, confirming his nigh-invulnerability. This was something Gan had confirmed before, but he was testing it again, just in case.

"Hehe! Let's go!" Gan turned, and a wormhole appeared before he flew through it at high speeds.

_______

"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe..." A figure dressed entirely in black with a ski mask smiled as he contemplated who his next target might be.

A man had already been shot dead as an example of their seriousness.

"It looks like Grandpa here is our next target. The authorities aren't taking us seriously at all. Sorry, Gramps, you were unfortunate, but in the end, sh** happens!"

"Wait! No! Please! Give them more time to get a helicopter." A woman screamed in terror. Her dad had unfortunately become the next target.

"Haha, lady, your government doesn't care about you bafoons. If they did, they would have sent us a helicopter by now, or told us they would." This man's face was hidden, but his expression was likely smug and filled with mockery.

"Kill him!" The leader of the thieves waved his hand dismissively.

"Sorry, gramps!"

Bang!

Right then, the old man fell to the ground, his expression filled with shock and terror. However, when the older man looked, he was even more shocked.

He was alive, but look...

Bang was right, as a flag appeared out of the assault rifle's muzzle with the word 'bang' on it! The thief was stunned for a moment as he also noticed his weapon's change in weight.

"What the F**k is this?!" His Assault rifle had literally turned into a toy gun!

"What's going on? Why did you bring a fu**ing toy gun to our heist?" Another thief frowned under his ski mask and asked.

"No! It was real! I'm sure of it! The weight suddenly shifted! You saw me kill that man earlier; it was real then."

They all knew this was true and questioned this part the most. How could a real weapon suddenly turn into a toy?

"So this is what bank heisting has turned into? Robbing banks with toys, you guys are the biggest pump fakers ever."

Gan appeared with folded arms and spoke jokingly.

"Who the hell are you? You know what, I don't even care, kill this guy!" The robbers acted swiftly, brandishing their firearms and firing simultaneously, but an unusual scene occurred.

"What the hell is going on?! What did you do?!" The leader of the thieves was furious, but also scared at these turn of events.

Instead of shooting bullets, they were shooting water! Their guns had turned into water guns! What the hell was going on?!

"Ah, no, the art of thievery has deteriorated after many generations. People are now robbing banks with clown weapons and water guns." Gan sighed.

His eyes showed deep sadness for a fallen culture.

"F**k you, you did something, you used some strange power to turned our weapons into this!" Gan listened but didn't reply; he turned to the dead man on the ground and frowned.

It would seem he had come too late, and someone died. Gan pointed at the corpse and shot a thin beam of energy at it. To the naked eye, his body began to heal; the gunshot wound on his forehead closed, and his eyes showed a glimmer of light.

"AH!" The man rose fast and screamed before bursting into cold sweat.

"W-What?" The thieves were visibly shaken from what they had witnessed. This was the same for the many hostages.

He had just brought someone back from the dead before everyone's eyes!

The man touched his forehead; he was sure he was overtaken by darkness before there was nothingness.

He had indeed died, right?

People were visibly shaking, witnessing this. Not even the Avengers could pull off such a feat, right?

"Killing people, that's a serious crime. As much as I want to deal with you guys, I'll leave it to the police to handle you."

Suddenly, the group of thieves' vision was overtaken by darkness. This was Gan using his mind abilities to suppress their consciousness. In the next moment, they were all tied with chains.

"Everyone is free now. You can go tell the SWAT team that the thieves have been apprehended." Gan didn't stay before he opened a wormhole and disappeared into it.

The man who had been resurrected came to his senses. He wanted to stop Gan and thank him, but the wormhole had already shut.

"Damn, this is going to be one helluva story!" Surprisingly, this man so happened to be a well-known journalist.

A great number of people came over to see the journalist. This guy was dead not too long ago, but he was actually revived. This act was simply unprecedented, a power only heard of in a certain book.

"Are you alright?" Someone couldn't help but ask, was he actually alive or a zombie?

"Guys, I'm alright. I'm perfectly fine...thanks to that guy. You all saw it for yourselves, even these thieves witnessed it." Aaron was his name, and he raised his hands, indicating that he was perfectly fine.

"My god, that guy actually raised the dead! This is absolutely insane!" A middle-aged man was really too shocked. They had witnessed Aaron's death and revival nearly in one go.

"I've never seen a superhero like that. Is he new or something?" A woman who looked to be around 18-19 asked.

"Not sure, but he's likely new. Let's go, these criminals need to be brought to justice." Aaron, the reporter, felt his hands trembling. He had truly encountered death but had returned from the brink.

Today should have been his last day on earth. He was truly grateful to this hero, and probably could never repay him.

______

Elsewhere, Gan hadn't gone home right away. Instead, he flew around before arriving at the Grand Canyon.

Gan didn't engage in any extravagant physical displays while confronting those robbers. Nevertheless, he was confident that he had made a significant impact on everyone present. Transforming weapons into playthings and bringing someone back to life would surely create a stir.

"This is incredible. To be able to do things I could only see in movies being used in reality." Gan was all smiles as he sat on the Rocky Formations and stared into the sky.

"The Grand Canyon would be nice for a base, but people often visit these places. Every year, people visit this place by the millions."

Gan thought he'd better stick to the Sahara Desert or create an Underwater Base.

"I have school tomorrow, it feels so sudden with all I've done so far." When Gan first arrived here, he felt a headache knowing he had to go to school again.

Gan's mind drifted elsewhere; he truly enjoyed the scene before him. The Grand Canyon, while sitting on the highest point, was amazing.

There were many animals in the vicinity of the Grand Canyon. Gan saw Condors, Big Horn Sheep, Mule Deer, and more.

Gan suddenly shot off toward the sky, breaking through the sound barrier and atmosphere!

"This is amazing! I can see the whole planet from Earth, this is a sight most will never see." Gan was at a loss for words, witnessing the Earth from space. This was one of the best experiences he had ever had in his life.

Gan must have stared at the earth for about five minutes before coming to himself.

"Let's see how it looks from the moon, a place most can only visit with spaceships." In a matter of seconds, Gan landed on the moon.

"Hmm, that's right. The Inhumans haven't moved to the Moon yet. The Fantastic Four should help move them to the moon next year, or around two years from now." Gan scratched his head before turning to the Earth.

Half of the planet's landmass could be seen from afar, while the other side was pitch black. However, Gan's vision was beyond superhuman, as he could see the people walking around from here.

Gan created matter out of nothing, and a lawn chair and foot stool appeared.

"I can't believe I can actually hear while I'm in outer space, this technically doesn't make sense." What shocked Gan at first was that he could actually hear while out here.

Such things defied all logic and understanding of the universal laws. This was the vacuum of space, so this was simply impossible under normal circumstances.

'This is the Marvel World, so such logic needs to be placed aside. I also have the powers of the Sentry and the Void, so this is nothing to me.' Gan shook his head. He was still thinking like a normal person when it came to these things.

After all, he was still very new with these powers.

"Who?" Gan sensed someone and turned to see a towering figure in the distance.

Two words could truly describe this figure: Tall and Bald.

The Watcher!
