Amber felt her body sinking into a dank abyss but she was not alarmed. She was sinking but she felt her tie to Stefan grow stronger and become more substantial within her being. She knew she had to find him and they needed to awaken together.
This was all pure instinct. Everyone's soul commitment was different and dependent on different things. So there was truly no way to know how a specific soul commitment would go. Some even died or actually became lost within their own souls. Because of this the practice was now optional for soulmates.
But once completed the bond between soulmates was unbreakable and it became something sacred and protected.
When she wanted to do this Marco wanted to face palm but Stefan had to be nonchalant about it and readily agree. He didn't care what he had to do. He would get his revenge and he would see this woman dead or severely wounded.
But now he had to actually fool his soul. He wanted to pound his fist into something hard but instead he heeded Tiffany's words and moved toward Amber so that they could leave this place together and intact.
They easily found each other and they both felt the other's relief in this.
'Come on, let's find our way out of this.'
Amber nodded in agreement and they became entwined. They seemed to be as one and this startled Stefan as he worried, in a space deep in his consciousness created by Tiffany. But he had confidence in his little sister's abilities and if her only words of caution was for him to leave with Amber he knew there was nothing to worry about.
He quickly calmed himself before she noticed. But of course it was too late. She was essentially the other half of him, and he would have definitely noticed, the difference was she said nothing and filed it away in the back of her mind. He would have acted on it immediately.
Tiffany let out a long breath and opened her eyes. She, Trevor, and Lark (Amber's two strongest Psi) Adonis, Marg, Pierce, Elbon, Dale, and Caleb were all standing around the prone bodies of Amber and Stefan.
"Let's move them to the bed in these chambers. They have started the soul commitment and there is no stopping it now."
Trevor and Lark opened their eyes and both shook their head and shrugged. Tiffany was much more powerful than them. They watched as her mentality broke through areas they could only dream of traversing.
They were both secretly wondering how they could get this young child to teach them and if they could even learn.
Marg spoke up. "She is right. Once the soul commitment starts there is no stopping it."
Adonis nodded. "Let's move them then."
Both their bodies rose into the air laid out flat on their backs and placed their arms folded on to their chest.
"Just tell me where to take them. I will not be leaving My Lord's side until he has completed this."
Everyone looked to this little girl. Caleb shook his head, while the others were in a mix of awe and incredulity.
Adonis led the way.
A corridor had opened up in front of them and both Amber and Stefan knew that this was suddenly going to be a bit easier. The corridor seemed to embrace them then it began to incorporate itself into their soul tie. It warmed them and they could feel their bond strengthening and even Evolving.
They felt a warm sense of peace run through their souls and they both smiled.
Then they both frowned. These feelings were not them. It was odd and seemed out of place. Just as each of them thought this the corridor expanded then contracted and it was suddenly a component of their soul tie but they were still walking through it.
It was confusing, startling, and awe inspiring all in one large chaotic emotion.
And even though they were confused and startled they found themselves clinging to each other. Their trust and understanding for each other had grown and the importance that they felt for each other had not only expanded but became a fluid evolving existence.
The more they were connected the stronger their importance for each other. The more they did for each other the stronger it would become. This moved them down the corridor even faster and they both understood that this was a journey about who they were to each other.
They almost paused but they felt that they could not have any doubt during this journey so they forced themselves to continue without hesitation. These thoughts and actions were so synchronized that the corridor expanded and contracted again, and again it fused with their soul tie, adding a new layer to it, and they felt propelled down the corridor itself this time.
Their heads swam as if they were moving too fast.
And then Amber had a random thought. She suddenly felt, with all her heart, soul, and mind that no matter what she would trust, support, and remain by Stefan's side. Even if he rejected her in the future she swore in her soul she would never be against him.
She was so adamant that the corridor expanded and swirled into nothing and they felt the tie between them grow exponentially as the remainder of the corridor fused with it and they were again thrown forward.
Tiffany physically jumped as she felt their soul bodies suddenly and quickly re-enter their physical bodies.
"Marg! They are back!"
The Delta rushed to them and examined their physical state as Tiffany examined their mental state. They both looked to each other with wide eyes and then looked back to their Alphas, as they did so they both awoke.
It had been four days from the time they initiated the soul commitment to when they awoke. They only reason no one was truly worried was because Tiffany and the other Psi could sense that they were both sleeping normally without any mental stress.
When they woke their proximity and being in bed together seemed so natural they merely sat up and began to exit the bed. Tiffany didn't say anything but Marg and the other Psi warned that they needed to be more cautious.
They both turned to Tiffany in unison and the action gave her pause. She could feel how connected they were and she had sensed that connection grow as she monitored them.
Still.
"They are okay. Their souls are fine, a lot stronger but fine. They may have a headache for a day or two though. I can clearly see the strain this put on their psyche.
It's like they went through a year's worth of heavy mental strain."
She looked at them with a slight tilt to her head. "You finished your soul commitment a bit too quickly didn't you?"
The others looked at her incredulously. It had been four days where most soul commitments take a few hours and certainly no more than a day. But then they saw that both Amber and Stefan nodded.
They nodded, looked to each other, and said no more.
