Buneary's POV
Meanwhile...
"Do you see anything yet, Charizard?" I asked.
Charizard shook his head.
"What about you, Staraptor?" I asked.
"Nothing," he answered.
"They won't stay in that forest forever," Mother Eevee stated. "Wild humans never stay in one place for very long."
"Which means Morgan and Timothy are moving to another habitat... Or Region," Shinx added.
"Maybe they're nesting somewhere!" I suggested.
Shinx glares at me. "Humans don't nest."
"That's what they want you to think," Mother Eevee says. "They don't stay in one place for long because they have to avoid predators."
"What predators?" Shinx asks.
"Other humans," Mother Eevee answers grimly.
"Other humans?" I repeated.
Staraptor nods. "I once saw a wild human fight a Luxray with nothing but their bare paws."
"Did he win?" Shinx asks.
"…I don't wanna talk about it."
Suddenly, without warning, Charizard took a deep dive.
"DO YOU SEE THEM?" I shouted above the wind.
Charizard nodded.
Perfect.
"THEN LET'S GET OUR ARTEMIS BACK!" Mother Eevee shouted.
Morgan's POV
Meanwhile...
I finally put Artemis down so I could give my arms a break from holding her. But that didn't mean I was letting her go.
"Oh, yeah! Did I mention we had a Zeraora?"
Artemis looks up at me with wide, curious eyes. "A Zeraora? You had a Zeraora?"
"Yeah, we did! And he was the coolest!" I replied.
"Until he went missing..." Timothy muttered.
I shot a glare at Timothy. "Dude, do you have to turn everything into something depressing? Seriously, why can't you be happy about something for once?"
Garchomp nodded. "Garchomp."
"See? Even Garchomp agrees with me!"
"What's there to be happy about? We've lost everyone and everything. And you want me to be happy?" Timothy shot back.
I hesitate. "Well, no... But, being happy is better than moping around all day!"
Shinx's POV
I crouched low to Charizard's back, my eyes wide with panic. "DO WE HAVE A PLAN OR ARE WE JUST GONNA CRASH INTO THEM?!"
"YES!" Mother Eevee cackles.
Morgan's POV
"Look around you, Timothy. There's plenty that you could be joyful about. For one, you're still alive. And so am I!" I take Timothy's hands into mine. "We haven't lost everything. We still have–"
BOOM!
Dust filled the air, causing all of us to cough. I looked up and it was those Pokémon I was arguing with earlier.
"Buneary!" The Buneary shouted.
Artemis clapped her hands. "MOTHER EEVEE! YOU FOUND ME!"
Eevee jumped off of Charizard's head with a smug look. "Eevee-Ee."
I pulled Artemis close to my side. "Listen here, you little rodent, I'm not giving this little girl back to you! She needs a hospital not a dramatic Pokémon!"
"SHINX!" Shinx hissed
"Shinx says 'how dare you'." Artemis says.
Eevee's POV
"I AM NOT DRAMATIC, YOU PEASANT, I AM A LOVING MOTHER! AND THAT GIRL YOU HAVE IS MY CHILD!" I snapped.
"Give the word, Eevee, I'll have these Teenagers running," Staraptor chirped.
Even Charizard huffed, fire escaping through his teeth.
Timothy's POV
"EEVEE EEVEE, EE-VEE VEE!" Eevee continued yelling.
Garchomp roared back. But Eevee wasn't deterred.
...I just wanna go home... Why can't we just go home? Is that really too much to ask?
I sighed, pushing my sister back. "Why don't we just make a deal?"
Eevee tilted her head. "Vee?"
"Clearly my sister is taking this kid to the hospital, and there's no changing her mind. But, if you really insist on staying close to the kid, then you might as well come with us."
Garchomp looked at the Pokémon that had come after Artemis, his tail tapping against the ground. "Gar?"
Artemis's POV
"Are we still fighting? Or are we migrating?" Garchomp asks.
I look at Garchomp. "I...don't know..."
"Okay." Mother Eevee chirped.
Morgan looks at me. She asks, "What did she say?"
I shrugged. "She says 'okay'."
"Perfect! Then let's go!" Morgan exclaims.
We follow Morgan and Timothy down to human-filled land. Some were sitting outside of their caves, others were communicating with each other.
"Look Shinx!" Buneary points to a cave decorated in bright colors.
"The humans must be celebrating the evolution of their offspring," Staraptor chirped.
"Humans do that?" I asked.
"Indeed, they do!"
"Woah!" Shinx purred. "That's cool! I wanna have a celebration for my evolution!"
Megan's POV
"Alright! We're here!" I look back at the wild Pokémon that followed me and Timothy. "You guys stay out here, okay?"
"Garrrchomp," Garchomp growled.
"Sorry, Garchomp, you can't come in with us either. This is a human hospital," I said.
Garchomp growled again.
I gave Garchomp a pat on the back. "Don't worry! We'll come back!"
We enter the hospital. Timothy slumps into one of the chairs. I walk up to the front desk. "Good afternoon, Nurse Joy!"
"Good afternoon, Morgan! What brings you here this time?" Nurse Joy asked.
"We almost got killed two or three different times," Timothy mutters.
"Now, now, Morgan. I've told you about going on those dangerous adventures! You really need to be careful!" Nurse Joy says.
I laughed sheepishly. "Yeah, yeah, I know. But hey, I'm not here for myself for once!"
"Oh, really?"
I nod. "Mhm. Timothy and I found this little girl in the forest with lots of scratches. She says it's because she lives there."
"Now, Morgan, there are other people who live—"
"No, no, you don't understand. This little girl was apparently raised by Pokémon!"
Nurse Joy tilts her head. "Oh, you mean, like, Pokémon Rangers?"
I shake my head. "NO. LIKE SHE LITERALLY THINKS A LITTLE RODENT IS HER MOM."
Nurse Joy laughs. "Kids are so funny!"
Nurse Joy peeked over the counter, looking at Artemis with a smile. "But if you really insist she needs care, I'll bring her back here and see what I can do."
