Synopsis
Jim is a healthy youth who has just graduated from the ordinary local university in his city. With his degree in his hand, he started searching for jobs in the city. Even though his tries to get job were mostly met with rejections he never lost hope and always maintained positive attitude towards life. One morning he was getting ready for an interview in the local company who were hiring freshers, he felt someone hit him on his head before losing consciousness, what he didn't know then was all the people in the world also lost consciousness simultaneously within seconds. When Jim reopened his eyes again, he was sleeping on a hard iron bed fixed to the floor. The room he was in was 10 sq meters built like an iron cage with no windows but just a door on the other side of the room. Just opposite to the bed there was an iron table with multiple drawers which was also welded to the floor making the already cramped room narrower for walking. Jim wobbly woke up from the bed and tried opening the door and found it was locked, and he couldn't open it. Apprehensive about the circumstances he began shouting with fright so someone could hear his voice and open the door for him, but he didn't get any reply. After shouting for an hour, he got tired and sat on the sliding chair fixed to the table next to the bed. Only now he saw a laptop present on the table which was also embedded in it. As soon as he opened the laptop it started immediately, and words started appearing on it. Find out what did Jim see on the screen and his journey

Chapter 1 - An ordinary person

Jim is an orphan who was abandoned by his parents just after he was born at the hospital.

The doctors who had operated on his mother and found her missing after leaving him behind took him under their care and took care of him until an orphanage came forward to care for him.

The orphanage was supported by the hospital, ensuring he never went hungry and allowing him to grow up healthy with a proper education.

As he was studying on scholarships, he found a nearby college and graduated from it with a first-class degree.

As soon as he graduated, he found a small place and rented a room in the suburbs of the city. He moved out of the orphanage because he didn't want to be a burden to them.

To pay his rent, he took on various part-time jobs, and in his free time, he applied for numerous positions. Despite having good grades, he didn't receive any job offers from the companies.

Even though this hit hard on his confidence, Jim never got disappointed and maintained a positive outlook towards his life.

A few months passed by, and he received an interview offer from a start-up company within the city.

The next day, as he was getting ready with the second-hand suit he had brought from the online store.

After getting ready and closing the rented room door, Jim suddenly felt he was hit on the back of his head and lost consciousness.

Before losing consciousness, Jim felt the presence of several people around him.

What he couldn't have known was that the moment he collapsed, everything around him froze in time, and the people surrounding him, along with everyone else in the world, gradually vanished, including himself.

Jim woke up with a heavy feeling in his chest, lying on a hard iron bed in a small, cramped room that held nothing but the bed and a table with a chair attached to it.

Due to the heavy hit on his head, he still had a headache and only sat down when it subsided.

Afterwards, Jim realized the room had no windows and lacked any air circulation, leaving him with a stuffy sensation in his chest.

Unsteady Jim got up from the bed and went to open the door, but after several attempts, he realized it wouldn't budge. His nerves tightened, and he began pounding on the door, shouting for help.

After a few minutes of shouting with no reply, he grew discouraged. Feeling tired, Jim slid the chair away from the table and sat down.

It was only after he sat down that he noticed a tablet embedded in the chair, its screen flashing.

Curiously, he touched the screen and found it getting switched on.

In a few seconds, the tablet operating system got switched on, and an introduction appeared on the tablet screen.

["Welcome to the doomsday survival world, here you will seek a chance to survive"]

["To survive in this apocalyptic land, please remember the following points."]

["First, this is an apocalyptic world eroded by an unknown radiation."]

[" Here Order has collapsed, Society has crumbled, All the places except Shelter are filled with radiation."]

["If exposed to the radiation for a long time, it will cause an infection which will turn you into a zombie."]

["Please be vigilant about the animals which has turned into monsters and zombies that may attack the shelter at any time."]

["The weather in the apocalyptic world is chaotic due to radiation in the surroundings."]

["Please find the weather and the radiation level before leaving the shelter to collect supplies for your survival."]

["The shelter is the only safe area for the survivors, so please develop the surrounding areas to increase your survival chances."]

["Every survivor is provided with a tablet that can connect with survivors within a 100 km radius."]

["Every survivor is provided with three items to survive: a water condenser, a food producer, which produces food by collecting surrounding carbons in the air, and a lucky draw, which might draw an item which might be useful for your survival."]

["Everyday survival will be rewarded with survival coins, which can be used as currency to buy items in the mall, or buy items from other survivors, or to upgrade the shelter."]

As soon as Jim read the message, the words vanished, and an icon prompting him to click to confirm his draw appeared on the screen.

Jim pressed confirm, and a wheel with several options appeared. It spun rapidly at first, then gradually slowed down after a few seconds.

["Please confirm to receive appeared on the tablet screen.']

Jim hit the confirm button, and a golden glow lit up the bed as an exoskeleton with a metallic sheen materialized and rested there.

On the other side of the bed are two metal boxes that seem to be stacked on top of each other.

Jim first got up from the chair and checked the box, which was indicated as water collectors and food producers.

The water collector has a capacity of 5 liters, and it takes 24 hours to collect 1 liter of water.

The food producer collects carbon from the surroundings and produces 3 units of starch, which can be made into biscuits that can fill his stomach once a day.

Then Jim switched on the devices and saw they were operating perfectly, and shifted his gaze towards the exoskeleton present on the bed.

Jim tried to lift it off the bed, but its weight made it impossible. He loosened the buckles, carefully slipped into it, buckled up slowly, and finally pressed the power button.

When the power was switched on, the exoskeleton tightened and adjusted itself to cover his entire body securely.

Jim gradually woke up, got out of bed, and started walking, discovering that he could move effortlessly without any difficulty in operating it.

It felt just like wearing clothes, responding seamlessly to his nervous reactions.

Jim, upon further observation, found that the exoskeleton perfectly blocks the radiation in his surroundings.

This feature brought him joy, knowing it could shield him from mild radiation in the environment, though he couldn't overlook the stern warning about radiation that popped up when he opened the tablet.

He struggled to walk; the bulky exoskeleton moved even harder in the cramped room. Slowly, he reached the tablet and pressed the button to open the iron door.

Moments later, the door creaked open with the sound of grinding gears, revealing a dimly lit cave where Jim couldn't even see his fingers.

The night vision in his helmet activated, and Jim slowly walked out of the room.

Upon exiting the room, Jim found himself in a small cave with an exit on one side and an iron shelter on the other side.

The cave stretched deep into the ground, and as he approached the entrance, the narrow corridor allowed just enough space for one person to pass through comfortably.

When Jim reached the exit, he discovered a massive boulder blocking the way, positioned like a gate to safeguard the shelter from wild animals and other dangers.

Jim observed that the boulder had perfectly protected the shelter from the cold that was trying to enter the cave, so he didn't try to move the boulder and returned the way he came.
