A Few Days Later...
The warehouse was dimly lit, the only source of light coming from a large fire crackling in the center of the room. Shadows danced on the wooden walls, flickering with every pop and hiss of burning logs. Around the fire, Gray sat with Bella, Nil, and Fil—his most trusted Betas. Surrounding them were around thirty werewolves, each seated on wooden chairs arranged in a square formation, all of them quietly waiting for Gray to speak.
Gray leaned forward, his eyes focused on Nil. His voice cut through the silence like a blade."Nil, what happened to the people you sent to the Slums? Are they succeeding in creating new werewolves?"
Nil gave a proud nod, his eyes gleaming with excitement."Boss, everything is going exactly according to your plan, sir. I've sent everyone in my group to begin the conversions. So far, we've already turned about a thousand people into werewolves."
Gray gave a small, satisfied smile."Good… Bella, Fil—what's the progress on your side?"
Bella leaned in, her tone laced with a mixture of excitement and disbelief."Boss, you won't believe this, but when the people from the slums returned to their communities, they started dragging others into our cause. Now, they're helping to convert even more into werewolves. For now, I've told them to stay hidden, just like you ordered."
Fil spoke next, his voice calm but firm."Sir, just as you planned, my people approached local business owners and city folk with the offer to become werewolves. The promise of enhanced strength and a higher social status was more than enough. Almost all of them joined the pack willingly. My team is still moving through the city, spreading your message and convincing more people."
Everything was going according to plan. But then Bella's tone turned grave.
"Boss... there's one problem," she said cautiously. "We've spotted Greenwold family soldiers patrolling near this area. I think they're looking for us."
Gray's expression didn't change much. He simply scoffed."Let them look. I've got no intention of fighting them yet. The original plan was to wait until the full moon, convert the Greenwold family members into werewolves, and then control them from the shadows. But plans change. We'll use brute force now. Our army is almost ready. New members are aslo joining constantly."
He stood up slowly, the firelight casting sharp shadows over his face."In the morning, gather all our people here in this warehouse."
"Yes, sir," Nil and Fil said in unison, standing to attention before leaving the warehouse.
Now only Gray, Bella, and the other werewolves remained. The fire crackled louder as silence settled over them again.
A few days ago, when Gray had successfully created large numbers of Omega-class werewolves, a strange notification had appeared in his mind. It came from the Wolf God himself.
[Hoooo, good lad... You have chosen the right path of slaughter and carnage to assert your dominance. For this, I grant you a new feature of the System.]
It was a short message, but what it offered was powerful.
"Lily, open the system interface and show me the new feature," Gray commanded mentally.
[New System Feature Unlocked][Army Management]• Alpha: Gray Soliski – 1• Beta: Bella, Nil, Fil – 3• Current Army Size: 4,345
[Create a New Type of Werewolf – Requires new types of Beta werewolves] – Available[Locked Feature][Locked Feature][Locked Feature][Locked Feature]
Gray muttered under his breath, "Hmm… so we've got around 4,000 werewolves. That should be enough for now…"
Meanwhile, in the Greenwold Family Mansion...
"FUCKKKKKKKKKK!!!" a young woman's voice exploded in the conference room.
The shout came from the Greenwold family's eldest daughter, Rose. She was pacing in rage, her boots clicking sharply against the polished marble floor.
Seated nearby were two others, including an older man wearing a decorated military uniform. His face was weathered, with deep lines etched from years of battle, and his expression was steely. This was Agrest Greenwold—head of the Greenwold family, a Level 50 Knight and a former high-ranking commander in the kingdom's military. He now spent his time training soldiers in the family's private army.
To his right sat a young man, bearing a strong resemblance to Agrest. He too wore a military uniform, though his demeanor was far calmer than his sister's.
In front of them stood two subordinates, heads lowered in shame. They had just delivered grave news.
A new gang had emerged in the city.
Not only had they wiped out all the existing gangs, but they had also taken control of several key businesses. Those businesses were now ignoring the Greenwold family's orders. They refused bribes, ransoms, and even generous offers of gold. Every time someone approached them, they simply replied:
"If you want anything, talk to the Big Boss… Gary."
This simple name caused chaos in the Greenwold hierarchy. Rose clenched her fists in fury.
"All those gang leaders used to work under me!" she screamed. "In just a few days, they're dead! Every underground connection I had is gone! Our influence is collapsing, and the businesses we used to control now serve this Gary! We even emptied out the vaults of the other gangs before that Gary Guy could react!, But it's not changing the situation."
The family's black-market empire—once their main income source—was crumbling.
"Father, we have to kill them. Now!" Rose yelled, pointing a finger toward the door. "They disrespected us. They humiliated us. They killed my people and took over our territory like cowards. What power could this Gary possibly have, huh?!"
Agrest didn't react. He listened calmly to his daughter's rant and then raised a hand.
"Rose… control yourself. Let me handle this."
He turned to the two soldiers."Gather the army. We will sweep through the city at dawn. Kill anyone even remotely connected to this Gary."
"Yes, sir!" they said, saluting before quickly leaving the room.
As the door shut, the young man beside Agrest spoke carefully."Father… are you sure this is the right move? We don't even know who this Gary is or how powerful he is. If he managed to kill all the gang leaders so easily, he might be extremely dangerous. We should wait and investigate first."
Rose rolled her eyes and scoffed."Hmph. I knew you were a coward. So what if he killed the gangs? We have an army. And our father is a Level 50 knight! No one in this city is stronger than him. Do you honestly think this 'Gary' is better than father?"
"That's not what I meant…" he mumbled, trying to explain.
But Agrest had enough.
"Enough," he said sharply, standing up. His voice cut through the tension in the room."Tomorrow, we find anyone linked to Gary and slaughter them. We'll make the city fear us again. That fear will silence this gang and let us retake control. After that, we can track down Gary himself and deal with him."
Both siblings nodded, understanding that the plan was already in motion.
Back at the Warehouse…
A young boy came sprinting across the street under the night sky, his lungs burning and his legs aching. He didn't stop until he burst through the warehouse door, gasping for breath. The werewolves inside immediately turned, growling lowly until they recognized him. The crowd parted, letting the boy approach Gray and Bella.
"Boss… haff… boss…"
"Calm down, kid. Breathe. Catch your breath," Gray said gently.
The boy nodded, bent over with his hands on his knees. After a few long seconds, he looked up with wide eyes.
"Boss, I heard some soldiers talking… the Greenwold family is gathering their army. They're planning to sweep through the city tomorrow!"
Gray's eyes narrowed."Got it. You did well. Go back and rest now."
"Okay, boss." The boy nodded and ran back out the door, disappearing into the darkness.
Gray turned toward the fire again, his face now more serious.
"So… plans have changed again, huh."
Bella tilted her head. "What happened?"
"Nothing much," Gray said calmly. "We only have a few hours before the Greenwolds attack us.. Bella, go find Nil and Fil. Tell them to gather everyone. I want the entire army here within an hour."
"Yes, boss," Bella replied. In the next instant, she transformed into her werewolf form and dashed out of the warehouse like a streak of silver light.
Gray remained by the fire, his sharp eyes glowing with anticipation as the flames danced in front of him.
