After he left the bathroom, Damien began to make his way toward his room.
Dressed in only his joggers and a towel around his neck, women he walked by couldn't help but stare at his bare chest.
Not to mention, his dick print was pretty much visible. No helping that, since the material of the joggers was fairly light.
Getting to the front of the door, Damien pulled out an ID card he had gotten from Radia.
It was meant to be a key.
He slid the card through the opening on the doorknob, and just like that, the door opened.
With that, Damien was able to enter.
As soon as he was in and the door slid shut behind him, the first thing he noticed was the books stacked on the bed.
'They already brought it in. This can't be everything, though, right?'
He was expecting at least a dozen books.
Seeing only three was a bit disappointing.
Sigh~
He turned his gaze toward the open window.
It was already nighttime, which made most of the lights in Veltox City more vibrant.
As he moved closer to the window, he could see how beautiful the city was at night.
Something the game never showed him.
From what he knew, every city soon fell to the raptors, though it was behind the scenes.
Because of this, most of the cities were irrelevant, including Veltox.
Meaning, as of his very involvement, he was the only one capable of saving the city from its written fate.
Whether he was strong enough to do it was a different case.
Then there was also the fact that, despite the similarities between the game and this world, the storyline was still all over the place.
The only theory Damien could come up with was that whatever he had played in the game was merely a tutorial, as the game said.
Now, in this world, he was facing something different, with the help of the pieces of knowledge he had.
'This shouldn't even be my job, tsk! The original MC of this story is probably in a safer city.'
One could not also rule out the fact that there might not be a main character at all.
Hell, he might even be the main character himself.
Though that was very unlikely. If he were the main character, then he would have spoken to the god of the land before entering this world.
'I'm glad I didn't anyway. I don't intend on speaking to that fraud.'
Damien made his way to the bed, where he then picked up one of the books he was about to read.
Studies on Raptors.
He stared at the title for a while.
When playing a visual novel sim game, it wasn't uncommon for players to skip certain sections of the story.
Damien was no exception.
There were limited things he knew about the monsters.
All he cared about while playing the game was the characters and the story.
It was because of the story that he knew certain raptors had evolved to a point where they had lives of their own. That was pretty much it.
Damien was a shitty gamer.
He spent the next few hours reading the book as best as he could.
The more he learned, the more interested he got.
For starters, he now understood not only the types of raptors but also what lay beyond.
Raptors are small in size by nature. Only after they have corrupted another living being do they claim their body for themselves.
This was how they were able to increase their population—by using the bodies of animals to create new raptors, known as "second generations."
After that, they are then subjected to evolution, obtaining an even stronger form that births the next title, "Third Generation."
Third-generation raptors are usually those who have corrupted avatars or sometimes humans, making them more probable to evolve.
The raptors understood this well, and as such, they strived to eliminate the human race in order to live resourcefully on Earth.
A few years back, an entire base was wiped out by raptors.
When backups came to lend their assistance, it was already too late; everyone in the base was already dead.
But they did find something—a recording.
This record showed footage of raptors communicating amongst themselves about how they wanted to take the reports back "home" and how it would be nice to have a bath.
As weird as the conversation was, that wasn't what caught the attention of the higher-ups.
Rather, it was the fact the raptors looked nothing like the aliens they were used to seeing.
If anything, they looked more human than most people in the city.
This led to excessive research that soon showed the raptors had begun building civilizations outside the cities and sectors.
They were claiming the earth right under their noses.
Damien flung the book to the side.
'That explains a good number of things.'
Still, Damien found it utterly stupid.
Humans have been playing defense for so long, they've already forgotten they could attack as well.
Then again, their strength was nothing to write home about.
'That's why I'll be the one to do it...'
He suddenly tapped the air in front of him.
[System online…]
He quickly moved toward the banner.

Before his very eyes, purple light began to display in front of him.
It was bright, far brighter than the lights in the city.
And then, in the blink of an eye, she was there.
