"Enough fighting, you two."You should both hurry and go in. Right now, the other kids are going through the Arcanet. A person says
"You... You are." Noah starts while staring at the person
The person was short, and truth be told, was quite fat. The young man had blue hair and eyes. Because of the length of his hair, he had to tie it up in a small ponytail. He was wearing a casual white hoodie, black jogging pants, and shoes.
"So, the rumors were true." Noah says while looking at the young man with a face of disbelief. "You really... changed, Neant."
"Aren't you going to go in?" Neant asks while eating a chip. "The Arcanet has already started."
"Who's this f-."
Noah covers Adam's mouth with his right hand at light speed. Adam, surprised, looks at him with anger. Noah shakes his head with a frown. He turns and looks at Neant, who's looking at the two with confusion
"Never say that in front of him." Noah explains. "That's if you don't want to end up in a hospital."
Noah retreats his hand
"Who's this kid?" Adam thought as he looked at the young, fat boy. "Noah is scared of him, even though he's really strong.... Does that mean... that this fatty is stronger than Noah?"
"Let's go in." Noah says while putting his hand on the door
Adam also put his hand on the door, and they both pushed it open. The garden was once more full of people. The day before, people were dressed more festively and formally, but today, they were all dressed casually. More importantly, in the middle of the crowd stood a priest with extremely short brown hair and eyes, dressed in black with a golden lion on the back, upper arms, and near the heart of his clothes. In the hand of that very priest, a completely grey orb made of glass
"A priest of the Church of Leo." Noah says while walking into the crowd
The people were so focused on the test that none of them noticed that Adam and Noah had entered the room
"Are you next?" The priest asks Seleph
Seleph nervously nods and steps forward. Elaine and Kenzo both look at him with worry as Seleph's hands slowly approach the orb. He puts his hand on the orb, but the orb doesn't react.
"What is the meaning of this?" A person says
"This child doesn't have any Arcane Energy?" Another says
"Doesn't that mean that he isn't an Arch Human?" A man yells
Caesar and Carla look at Seleph with the same unchanging expression
"As expected, Adam is an exception, and that probably is because he wasn't originally from the first floor." Caesar thought as he closed his eyes, but quickly reopened them when he felt the air in the garden change
Caesar's eyes widen when the orb starts to emit a red glow, a bright red glow. The crowd that had started to slowly but surely raise their voice had completely gone silent. Out of everyone present in the room, two people were shedding tears of joy. Elaine and Kenzo.
"Elaine." Kenzo says with tears and a smile
Elaine nods
"Arcane energy!" She says with tears of joy. "Not only does he have Arcana, but the color of his Arcana is red. The second rarest color to exist."
"Congratulations, young child of Leo." The priest says with a smile. "A bright future awaits you."
Seleph smiles brightly, then walks away to join Elaine, Kenzo, and Eve. When he gets there, Kenzo pats his head with a huge smile
"Good job." Adam says as walks up to them
Elaine rushes to his side and starts to examine his whole body.
"Are you okay?" She asks while touching his right arm
"I'm fine." He replies. "It's already healed."
"Who's next?" The priest calmly asks
Arlo comes out of the crowd and approaches the priest. The priest looks at him and smiles
"Would you like to go next?" He gently asks
Arlo nods
"The young heir of one of the Four Great Lions." A guest says
" I wonder what color his arcane energy will be." Another says
"Is the color of one's arcana that important?" Adam thought as he looked at the countless guests watching Arlo with expectation. "Everyone shut their mouth when Seleph's arcane color appeared, and they seemed to be excited to see what Arlo's arcane color was going to be."
Noah stares at Arlo, who is slowly walking towards the priest. Byron was also looking at Arlo, but with concern. Arlo places his hand on the orb, and after a few seconds, the orb turns green.
"Well, that's disappointing." A guest says
Arlo looks at the orb, closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, exhales, turns around, and walks away
"Arlo..." Noah thought as he looked at the young boy walking with his head down
"No way! Arlo's arcane color is green!" Byron thought in disbelief
"Green, huh? That won't stop me from getting stronger!" Arlo thought with clenched fists
Gancelot takes a bottle of alcohol and starts drinking from it. He stops and looks at his little brother
"Do you have something to say?" Arlo asks with a frown
Gancelot looks at Arlo for a moment, then exhales
"Doesn't seem like I need to say anything." Gancelot says as he walks away."Will you even be able to get revenge?"
Arlo turns around with a face full of anger as he watches his brother walk away.
"Just watch!" Arlo says with anger. "I'll grow stronger and I will kill you!"
"Arlo..." Byron says with a painful expression
Byron turns around and walks toward the priest
"I want to go next." Byron says with determination
The priest extends his hand to place the orb in front of Byron.
"I can do it! Red or Golden!" Byron thought nervously
"This time it's the heir of the Leobarka house." A guest says
"Can we expect something from this one?" Another says
"Have you lost your mind? He's the third child of the Leobarka Head." Another says
"The third child? That means that he's the illegitimate child, isn't he?" Another says. "The child born from the current Head affair with a commoner."
Byron frowns
"I can do it!" He thought with anger, determination, and nervousness
Byron places his hand on the orb, and the orb turns blue. Arlo looks at Byron with sadness and pity. As for Byron, it was almost as if he had lost everything. He simply stood there, frozen in place. His eyes were wide open, devoid of hope. His heart had been consumed by despair
"My arcane color is blue?" He thought as he stared at the ground."The most common arcane color?"
"As expected from the child of a commoner." Someone says with a mocking tone
" A color fitting of his blood. Another says
Someone places their hand on Byron's left shoulder. Byron turns around with anger but sees Arlo.
"Arlo..."
Arlo simply smiles at him. Then the two walk away
"We are not done." Arlo says with determination. "The color of our arcane energy isn't the end, right? "
"Right. "Byron replies with renewed hope. "It won't stop us."
"I'll go next." Noah says as he uses his crutch to walk forward
"Are you okay?" The priest asks with worry
"I am fine." Noah says with anger. "Now let me take the Arcanet."
The priest looks at him with surprise
"Was he close with the other two kids?" The priest thought as he looked at Noah. "Is that why he is reacting with such anger? Such a kind child."
The priest smiles at Noah and puts the orb in front of him. As soon as the orb gets in front of Noah, the whole room goes silent. Noah places his hand on the orb, and after a few seconds, the orb turns red just like it did when Seleph touched it. At the same time, a shower of praises and clapping rain upon the Leoneo's
"The eldest daughter has golden arcane energy, while the youngest has red." A person says. "Truly superior, the Leoneo's."
"The Leoneo family truly is blessed with great children." Another says
Noah walks away and passes by Arlo and Byron, who look down, avoiding his eyes.
"Nothing will." Noah says as he passes by them
Byron's eyes widen in surprise, and Arlo simply smiles
"That idiot didn't forget, huh?" Arlo says with a smile
Byron giggles with tears in his eyes. Noah joins his father and mother
"Good job, son." Caesar says while looking at Noah with his unchanging expression
"How do you feel, Noah?" Carla asks with the same cold expression that her husband has
"I'm okay." He answers calmly
Caesar looks at Noah for a bit, then looks away
"Are you two the only ones left?" The priest asks Adam and Eve
"There's still me." Neant says as he walks up to the priest
"Ne...ant?" Byron and Arlo say with surprise and hesitation
Neant turns around and waves at them with a smile. The people who were showering Noah with praise are now whispering amongst each other
"Is that Neant Leoknewx?" Someone says
"It's me!" He yells with a smile. "I gained a bit of weight during the past year, but it's me!"
Everyone currently present, except for Adam, Eve, and Seleph, had the same thought.
"Just a bit?"
Adam, Eve, Seleph, and Kenzo all look at others with questioning eyes. That was only normal since they had never met Neant before.
"I'll go next." Neant says with a smile. "Well, I already know that my arcane energy is golden."
"What a confident child." The priest thought as he looked at Neant
The priest puts the orb in front of Neant, and after placing his hand on the orb, it turns blue. Neant looks at the ball with a wide-open mouth and eyes
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!" He yells in shock
"That idiot hasn't changed a bit." Noah says after sighing
"Well, it's not that big a deal." Neant says as he walks away and joins Byron and Arlo. "Is it?"
Arlo and Byron smile
"What the hell is going on?" Adam says with confusion
Eve advances and puts her hand on the colorless orb. Suddenly, the whole room is engulfed in a bright golden glow
"No... way." Arlo says with surprise
"Golden...arcane... energy?" Caesar says
"What is the meaning of this?" Caesar thought confused. "One has an undiscovered arcane color, the other has red arcane energy, and now she has golden arcane energy. They are from the first floor, so they shouldn't even have arcane energy. Something is not right...This cannot be a coincidence."
The whole room goes silent. The golden glow disappears when Eve takes her hand off the orb.
"Golden arcane energy." A person says. "Another chosen one has appeared."
The priest grabs Eve's hands and, with his eyes closed, he says
"Thank you for being born." As a tear rolls down his cheek
Eve heads back to her family.
"Good job." Elaine says with a soft smile. "You both will become Knights, and Eve will be able to join any order."
The priest approaches Adam and places the orb in front of him
"You're the only one left." The priest says with a soft expression to Adam
"I wonder what color he's going to get?" A person says with excitement
"True. Both of the children Elaine brought are exceptional." Another says with excitement
It was obvious from the way the guests were talking to each other that they were full of excitement and anticipation. Adam puts his hand on the orb, and just as he had expected, the orb turns black, leaving everyone in the room speechless. The priest looks at the orb with confusion.
"Black? He says with confusion. "Is something wrong with the orb."
The orb starts to shake, and cracks start to appear on it; then the orb explodes. The priest looks at Adam, who's standing in the middle of the shards falling to the ground
"Imp-! impossible!" The priest thought as he looked at Adam with surprise. "How is something like this possible? An orb has never been broken before during a test! Just how much arcane energy does this child possess!?"
