Just then, a golden streak shot down from the sky, landing on the carcass of the whale-type soul beast beside Qian Xunji.
"Greetings, Grand Priest!"
Upon seeing Qian Daoliu, the Palace Guardian Douluo immediately knelt on one knee.
"Father, you've come," Qian Xunji said.
Qian Daoliu didn't respond. His eyes were fixed on the ten-thousand-year-old whale gelatin in Qian Xunji's hand. Though he was seething with frustration and disappointment, he managed to suppress his urge to strike his own son, turning away instead.
"Is the news about Sea God Island true?"
Qian Xunji replied calmly, "You'll see for yourself once you get there. It's at eleven o'clock from here. With your speed, it shouldn't take more than half an hour."
Without another word, Qian Daoliu turned into a beam of golden light and vanished before Qian Xunji's eyes. He had held back for long enough—this son of his was utterly hopeless.
Unaware of his father's inner thoughts, Qian Xunji believed that all his actions were for the betterment and future of the Spirit Hall.
With two yellow, two purple, and four black soul rings appearing beneath him, he activated his Angel Martial Soul and also took flight toward Sea God Island.
There is no such thing as the strongest martial soul—only the strongest soul master who uses it. Qian Xunji firmly believed that every martial soul had its weaknesses. Even if it didn't, the user would. He was determined to observe the upcoming battle between the three Ultimate Douluo—especially Tang Chen—so he could analyze the flaws of the Clear Sky Hammer and develop counter-strategies.
The Clear Sky Clan had relied on their legacy for millennia. With brains full of nothing but muscle and a patriarch like Tang Chen, Qian Xunji believed that if they were ever targeted specifically, the Clear Sky Hammer would become obsolete. After all, before Tang Chen's emergence, they had been hammering metal for generations with no major accomplishments.
Far away from Hanhai City lay an island covering tens of thousands of meters—Sea God Island. Divided into eight regions, it was vast enough to rival a vassal kingdom of the Heaven Dou Empire. The island was lush, with spring-like weather year-round and clusters of opulent cities. Known as the sacred land of ocean soul masters, it held immense significance.
At the heart of Sea God Island, within a palace that towered thousands of meters high, a pair of beautiful eyes—long closed for who knows how many years—suddenly opened and turned in a specific direction.
A woman was kneeling before a statue, hands clasped in reverence. She stood about 1.8 meters tall, cloaked in a flowing robe. Her long white hair cascaded down her back, nearly brushing the floor. Her elegant face appeared to be no more than thirty, exuding a noble, graceful, and serene charm.
"An Ultimate Douluo, approaching from the sea."
Bo Saixi rose and extended her hand. A golden, three-meter-long scepter appeared, engraved with arcane runes. Its tip was shaped like a spearhead, with a diamond-shaped gem embedded five inches beneath the point. Grasping the scepter, she vanished from the Sea God Temple.
"Could the rumors of divine presence really be true?"
Several tens of thousands of meters away, Qian Daoliu reached the outskirts of Sea God Island. His spiritual senses brushed against the invisible golden barrier that blanketed the island and maintained its eternal spring. He couldn't help but marvel—this was something even he couldn't replicate.
Suddenly, he felt a soul power fluctuation as immense as his own. He immediately halted. A red blur pierced through the golden barrier and arrived before him in just two breaths.
"Why have you come to Sea God Island, stranger?"
Bo Saixi hovered tens of meters away, her voice as gentle and melodic as the sea itself, calming even the raging waves below.
"Qian Daoliu of Spirit Hall. I've heard that Sea God Island bears the legacy of a true god. Seeing it now, the rumors appear to be true."
Looking upon Bo Saixi's ethereal beauty and sensing her power equal to his own, Qian Daoliu's heart began to pound uncontrollably.
"Bo Saixi, of Sea God Island. I've heard of Spirit Hall. I didn't expect you to also carry the legacy of a god."
Both were divine envoys—servants of gods. Though Qian Daoliu had not yet completed the Angel God's Eight Trials, traces of divine power still lingered in him. They could sense it in each other.
"You and I are both god's envoys, both Rank 99 Title Douluo. Why don't we see today whose strength reigns supreme?"
With that, Qian Daoliu released his vast soul power. His Angel Martial Soul radiated dazzling golden light.
"Very well."
Bo Saixi responded, rising to the challenge. Eight black and one red soul ring emerged around her. At age six, she had awakened her martial soul, a divine gift from the Sea God. From birth, her status had been unrivaled. Few had ever dueled her, and after becoming a Rank 99 Title Douluo, not even the island's sacred pillar Douluo could withstand a single strike from her. She had long grown weary of solitude.
Now that a worthy opponent had appeared, she was eager for battle.
Qian Daoliu's gaze shifted to the sea-blue, ethereal humanoid figure behind Bo Saixi.
"This is my Martial Soul—Sea God."
"Then come."
Golden light flashed from Qian Daoliu's right arm as a golden bone transformed into a sacred, ancient three-foot sword—Liangtian Sword. Like Bo Saixi's Sea God Scepter, it was a semi-divine weapon.
In the blink of an eye, both figures vanished. The Sea God Scepter and Liangtian Sword clashed, unleashing a cataclysmic shockwave. Waves surged thousands of meters into the sky, forming colossal tsunamis that rippled outward.
Sea God Island remained untouched, protected by its divine barrier. However, countless sea soul beasts were knocked unconscious or killed by the shockwave, their soul rings bursting into view.
Clear Sky Sect
Tang Chen sensed the overwhelming clash of two powerful auras from an unfathomable distance and immediately stood up, his eyes brimming with excitement and fighting spirit.
He had never expected that someone other than Qian Daoliu had reached the Ultimate Douluo level.
Only Ultimate Douluo truly understood how formidable such a realm was. To put it simply: with identical martial souls, soul rings, and soul bones, a Level 99 could crush a Level 97 with just pure soul power. Facing a 99 was like sending in a parade of sacrificial lambs.
With a flash, Tang Chen rocketed from the Clear Sky Sect like a black cannonball, flying straight toward Sea God Island.
Above the Sea
Qian Xunji hovered with his four angelic wings flapping. In the far distance—tens of thousands of meters away—dark clouds churned, sea waves surged, and two brilliant lights—one gold, one blue—blazed in the sky.
For the first time, his face lit up with excited yearning.
But he also knew: his own strength and spiritual power weren't nearly enough to observe a battle between Ultimate Douluo. Even the residual shockwaves, from thousands of meters away, could kill him instantly.
