Part 5
A Brief Sea Voyage
The Port of Bathuana was bustling with action. On days when the ships set off for the capital, the docks came alive in a cacophony of nobles and commoners alike. The vessel awaiting us was grand—a luxury liner that Kyle had described with a rare air of admiration. It was the preferred vessel of the nobility and came complete with grand ballrooms, sports halls, and even a swimming pool. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the ship was akin to a floating palace.
“Ships like these are meticulous in their identity checks. It minimizes the risk of attack, and the repercussions for harming a noble are dire, making it our safest bet,” Kyle explained, his confident tone working wonders to ease my fears.
“If they’re checking identities, mine isn’t exactly going to pass unquestioned,” I pointed out anxiously.
“Do not fret—my identity is well established,” he assured.
