Chapter 62 - Ch 62: Spoilers

Chapter 62 Spoilers

"I want to know who attacked Minato Namikaze and the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. That's not a difficult thing, but even if I tell you the truth, what can you do?" Ayaan slowly restrained his fighting posture. "The current Konohagakure will not support you in seeking revenge, right?"

"You do know." Jiraiya looked up at Ayaan, a hint of murderous intent emanating from him. "It seems I have to subdue you to get the information?"

"Subdue me?" Ayaan showed a funny expression on his face. "Just relying on your half-baked Sage Mode? Aren't you thinking too highly of yourself?"

After hearing what Ayaan said, Jiraiya's expression changed slightly. But before he could speak, Ayaan continued: "It doesn't matter. Since you want to know, I'll tell you everything."

"Hmm?" Jiraiya's expression shifted. He had not expected Ayaan to say such a thing.

Before coming here, he had already prepared to die in battle. After all, the combat performance of this shadowy ninja in Konoha was truly astonishing.

Shimura Danzo's Root was completely wiped out, and he barely escaped using his secret technique. The Third Hokage and Konoha's Jonin were completely suppressed. Even the Uchiha clan leader, who had already awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan, was almost killed.

To be honest, even if Jiraiya activated Sage Mode, he likely wouldn't be able to defeat this opponent. That "Dark release" technique, which combined offense and defense in a near-otherworldly way, was terrifying—almost comparable to Dust Release. Jiraiya still hadn't figured out a way to counter it.

If it weren't for the death of his disciple—someone he had placed great hopes in and seen as the Child of Prophecy—Jiraiya would never have faced Ayaan so recklessly.

It wasn't fear of death, but the fact that Konoha couldn't withstand another disaster. If word of the death of one of the Legendary Sannin spread, another Great Ninja War could erupt.

"There's nothing to be surprised about. I just admire your character," Ayaan said. Jiraiya was one of the rare characters in the ninja world with no dark spots—aside from being a bit perverted.

Ayaan hated the ninja profession, but that didn't mean he hated every ninja.

"Hah, you admire my character?" Jiraiya said mockingly. "Someone like you has such thoughts?"

"Why wouldn't I have such thoughts? Just because I attacked Konoha?"

"Attacking the village without reason and stealing secret techniques—isn't that enough?" Jiraiya frowned.

"Heh, as if Konoha hasn't done the same. All the ninja villages do it. So why is what I do called terrorism, but what you do is 'Konoha's will'?" Ayaan sneered.

"Are you... dissatisfied with the current system?" Jiraiya asked seriously after a pause.

"Are you satisfied with a system that forces seven- or eight-year-old children onto the battlefield?" Ayaan laughed. "If you really were, would you still wander the world looking for the Child of Prophecy?"

Jiraiya was momentarily at a loss for words. Deep down, he couldn't agree with the current village system either. That's why he had left Konoha to travel the world.

Everyone knew that if he returned to Konoha now, he could easily become Hokage—there were no worthy competitors.

"Alright, let's not debate the system," Jiraiya said after a moment of silence. "You said you'd tell me who released the Nine-Tails!"

Ayaan didn't make it difficult and answered directly, "The one who released the Nine-Tails was Uchiha Obito."

Upon hearing the name, Jiraiya looked confused. "Who? Uchiha Obito? That name sounds familiar."

"That guy is your apprentice's apprentice. So basically, your great-disciple," Ayaan said with a sigh. When it came to people like Tsunade, Orochimaru, or the Third Hokage, he could understand not knowing. But this was your own great-disciple—how could you forget?

Jiraiya paused, thought for a moment, and said with disbelief, "You mean that Uchiha brat who wore goggles and was always late? Didn't he die? You're not lying to me, are you?"

Before awakening his Mangekyō, Uchiha Obito was considered a side character. He had little presence and was far overshadowed by Kakashi.

His talent wasn't bad. He had made it into the elite class and became a Chunin at just 12 years old.

That talent would be outstanding among the Uchiha, but his carefree attitude and lack of drive made him seem inferior.

But now you're saying that after a few years, he was capable of killing Minato Namikaze and releasing the Nine-Tails?

Even as a novelist, Jiraiya wouldn't dare write something so exaggerated!

"Forget it, let's start from the beginning." Ayaan looked at Jiraiya's disbelieving expression. "Obito didn't die under that boulder. If you don't believe me, go and check if there's a body."

"After that, he was discovered by Uchiha Madara due to his unique talent—"

"Wait, what? Uchiha Madara again?"

"Are you telling the story, or am I?"

"...Alright, go on."

"Okay, so Madara brought Obito to his base and repaired his body using White Zetsu derived from Hashirama's cells—"

"What even is a White Zetsu from Hashirama's cells? ...Never mind, I'll stop interrupting."

Seeing Ayaan's expression, Jiraiya finally went quiet.

"Let me start from the beginning. The Sage of Six Paths—"

"Come on! Now you're talking about myths? You're exaggerating again!" Jiraiya couldn't hold it in.

"The Sage of Six Paths really existed. If you don't believe me, ask the Great Toad Sage of Mount Myōboku!"

Ayaan snapped back and continued, "If you want to hear the story, then shut up."

Though his eyes were still full of disbelief, Jiraiya fell silent and listened.

"It's said the Sage of Six Paths had two sons: Indra and Asura..."

"The two have been fighting through their reincarnations..."

"The most recent reincarnations were Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara..."

"The altered stone tablet..., the Infinite Tsukuyomi Plan..."
