Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: The Files

The next morning, we woke up feeling rested and refreshed. The Capitol building was quiet, the only sound being Brian and Emily talking. We gathered in the makeshift living area, discussing our plans for the day.

"Today, I want to show you something," I said, looking at Brian and Emily. "Something that might help us understand the layout of the city and potential resources."

"What is it?" Brian asked, his curiosity piqued.

"I've been going through some files and documents I found in the building," I explained. "I think I've found some useful information about the city, including maps and emergency procedures."

Danielle's eyes widened. "That could be really helpful."

We all headed to the room where I'd been storing the documents. Nick, ever vigilant, kept watch as we began to sift through the files. Brian examined maps of the city, looking for potential safe zones and routes. Emily studied documents detailing emergency response procedures, searching for any clues that might help us survive.

Danielle and I worked together, going through stacks of papers and documents, looking for anything that might be useful. Nick joined in, scanning the documents and maps, his eyes scanning for any potential threats or useful information.

As we worked, we discussed the information we found, piecing together a plan for our survival. We knew the city was full of dangers, but with our combined skills and knowledge, we felt more confident and prepared to face whatever lay ahead.

As we shifted through the documents, we stumbled upon a folder labeled "Classified." Inside, we found a series of memos and reports that made our blood run cold.

"It can't be," Danielle whispered, her eyes scanning the documents. "This says Covid was created in a lab."

"And it was tested on humans," Brian added, his voice shaking with anger. "They knew it would turn people into...into whatever those things are out there."

Nick's face turned grim. "And the government funded it. They knew what was happening and they did nothing to stop it."

Emily's eyes welled up with tears. "How could they do this to people?"

The documents revealed a shocking truth. The COVID virus was indeed created in a lab, and it was tested on humans without their consent. The government had funded the research, knowing full well the risks and consequences.

We felt a mix of emotions - anger, sadness, and betrayal. How could our government do this to us? How could they play with people's lives like that?

As we continued to read, we realized that the virus was meant to be a cure for a different disease, but it had mutated and turned people into the undead creatures that roam the world now.

"This changes everything," Nick said, his voice cold. "We can't trust anyone. We have to take care of ourselves."

We nodded in agreement, our minds racing with the implications of what we had discovered. We knew that our world would never be the same again.

As we sat In stunned silence, the weight of the revaluation sinking in, I looked around. "We need to know more," I said. "We need to see the lab where it all started."

Nick's eyes narrowed. "You mean the lab where the virus was created?"

I nodded. "Yes. I want to know what happened, and maybe we can find some answers there."

Danielle's voice was firm. "Let's do it. We owe it to ourselves, and to the people who lost their lives."

With a newfound sense of purpose, we gathered our gear and left the Capitol building, determined to uncover the truth about the virus and the lab where it was created.
