Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Human Monarch

I stood, my dark hair falling around my face, a stark silhouette against the muted blue. My voice, sharp with conviction, sliced through the quiet. "WHY DON'T YOU STOP THIS?" I knew, instinctively, the truth of my predicament. "I KNOW YOU ARE HERE! SO STIP THIS CHARADE AND REVEAL YOURSELF! HOW MUCH LONGER ARE YOU PLANNING TO LOOK DOWN ON ME FROM ABOVE?!" The very ground beneath me cracked, intricate glowing patterns spreading like a spiderweb from my feet as I looked up, a silent question hanging in the air. "Who are you?" I demanded, my gaze piercing the veil.

A towering, shadowy figure, cloaked in an armor of pure energy, materialized before me. Its form crackled with raw power, its presence undeniable. An ancient, echoing voice resounded, "Are you... the Irregular who broke in?" The Spirit declared, "I am the Spirit of Babel, the ultimate weapon of mankind who rules over the power of the Original, and the administrator of the deepest part of the Creation."

It spoke with curiosity, its eyes trying to pierce through my very essence. "I can definitely feel your essence, you are a human. You even awakened as soon as you step into the tower, so definitely a human."

My side profile, illuminated by an unseen source, was etched with defiance. "Are you interrogating me after pulling me in here?"

The Spirit of Babel gently refuted, "No. I did not pull you in here. You broke in yourself."

My eyes widened, a rare flicker of surprise. "I BROKE IN?"

The Spirit elaborated, its voice resonating with ancient truths, "Your rough and terrifying ancient power tore through my barrier, one that even the monarchs of the universal cannot."

It continued, a torrent of power unfolding before me. I saw a younger version of myself, smiling faintly, outlined in a purple glow. The Spirit's voice declared, "What are... you?"

Within this boundless domain, anything was possible. A gnarled, root-like growth, adorned with vibrant green leaves, sprouted from its outstretched hand, a purple glow emanating from it. "And within my territory, I'm able to do anything I want." Glowing white flowers, ethereal and pure, appeared in my palm, surrounded by the same mystical aura. "I can feel the same power essence from you, but a reading that is not registered in my system. You are definitely using the Original Tongue. But, why can't I analyze it?"

Suspended in the sky, I questioned the unthinkable. "Are you saying that you and I possess the same power?"

"Yes!" It replied. "But..."

A grim expression marred its face, blood streaking its cheek. The single, stark word echoed: "ANNIHILATION!" "I can sense the end of everything in your energy. So ancient, so wild, dangerous even to me."

It transformed into a female figure, still and serene, surrounded by a gentle purple glow. Her eyes were closed, in a state of eternal repose. "This is the Tongue of End..." It whispered. "It only existed as an unproven theorem, even in my system. And it seems even you don't know much."

It changed its form again, this time to a winged creature. "Welcome to Babel, Irregular. I can see you've also awakened the Original Tongue of Beginning." It spoke this time, then transformed again.

The Spirit, in its true form, its dark hair flowing, a subtle smile on its lips, delivered its ultimate truth. "I am the record of human's struggles, the evidence of your resistance and the reward of your sufferings. I am power, I am salvation, as well as terror."

The vortex of power, shimmering with purple and blue light, swirled around us. "My sole reason of existence is to help humanity make a comeback in the multiverse." It paused and flew closer to me, creating a holographic multiverse with its hands. "For that we need the HUMAN MONARCH, and you have a monarch qualification."
