Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: The Assaulted Woman Has Been Found

Amelia Quinn had just landed and saw the trending topic pop up on her phone. She naturally knew the truth about the Solstice Scandal from back then. This so-called "former Solstice employee" was being overly dramatic; even though they were praising her, Amelia Quinn felt uncomfortable. Such a blatant lie, so far from the truth, would be too easily exposed.

Facing Amelia Quinn's grim questioning, Liam Reed paused, a look of misunderstood pain on his face. "Amelia, don't you understand? Everything I do is for you!"

Amelia Quinn frowned. "It really was you! That Solstice employee is fake too, right?"

Liam Reed, exposed, showed no sign of panic, still maintaining a look of deep affection. "That person was indeed a former Solstice employee. I put in a lot of effort to make him compliant. Amelia, look, the internet is all sympathizing with you now. The trending topic has only been out for two hours, and you've already gained over two hundred thousand followers. Do you still not believe my feelings for you?"

Liam Reed took a step forward, wanting to take Amelia Quinn's hand. Amelia Quinn stepped back, staring at him. "But have you considered? What if the truth gets out? How much will my image be affected?"

Liam Reed smiled. "Amelia, don't worry. I've already arranged everything. There weren't many people present back then, and I've given everyone hush money. As for the young woman you assaulted..."

Amelia Quinn's delicate eyebrows furrowed, her hands clenched. The assault incident was a black mark she couldn't erase. If it were exposed, her carefully cultivated persona of many years would be ruined.

"I've found her. I originally wanted to buy her off, but I realized it's no longer necessary."

Amelia Quinn was puzzled. "What do you mean?"

Liam Reed's handsome smile held a hint of cruelty. "That young woman fell ill after being fired from Solstice and tried to commit suicide several times. She now completely avoids contact with the outside world and certainly won't come forward to talk about what happened back then."

"Suicide?" Amelia Quinn froze, a touch of guilt rising in her heart.

Liam Reed comforted her. "Amelia, that young woman was already ill; it has nothing to do with you. Don't worry, Frank Castle won't find her. Even if he does, she won't help Frank Castle clear his name."

The guilt in Amelia Quinn's heart immediately dissipated significantly, but she was still a bit worried. "Don't do things like this again in the future. Frank Castle is my ex-husband, after all; he still has feelings for me."

A sharp glint flashed in Liam Reed's eyes. "But you were together for so long, and Frank Castle never gave you 'Plain Face' or 'The Balladeer'!"

"He kept the good songs to sing himself because he's selfish. Only if he's completely unable to work in the entertainment industry will he willingly hand over all his good songs to you!"

"Amelia, I'm helping you!"

Amelia Quinn was silent for a moment, then finally nodded, implicitly agreeing to Liam Reed continuing to smear Frank Castle. At most, she would magnanimously forgive Frank Castle in the future. As long as Frank Castle was willing to hand over all the good songs he was hiding and obediently write songs for her behind the scenes, she wouldn't mind giving Frank Castle a little sweetness occasionally.

Frank Castle, whether you can receive my forgiveness depends on your performance.

The next day.

Capital City General Hospital.

VIP Room.

"Celeste, you didn't eat breakfast, you have to eat something for lunch!" Lily held a food container filled with exquisite food packaged from a grand hotel, but Celeste Monroe on the hospital bed had her arms crossed, eyes closed, not even looking. Lily was speechless. This was the first time she had seen such a childish Celeste Monroe.

The reason was simple: Celeste had seen the trending topic about Frank Castle's assault last night and was furious, ordering Sarah Chou to investigate immediately. Sarah Chou didn't agree, saying Celeste shouldn't get too deeply involved in the matter. As a result, Celeste actually went on a hunger strike! Wasn't this just throwing a childish tantrum?

In the hospital room, Celeste Monroe sat on the bed with her eyes closed, while Sarah Chou sat huffily on the nearby sofa. Lily held the now cold food container, looking innocent in the middle. Alright, both of them are acting like children.

"Ugh..." Celeste Monroe suddenly clutched her stomach, letting out a soft moan of pain. Lily jumped in fright. "Celeste, what's wrong?" Sarah Chou also sprang up from the sofa, instantly arriving at the bedside. "Celeste, where does it hurt?"

Fine beads of sweat covered Celeste Monroe's pale forehead. "It might be low blood sugar again."

Sarah Chou grew anxious. "Then why aren't you eating?" Celeste Monroe looked up at her, her expression stubborn. Sarah Chou was speechless and could only give in.

"I've already investigated. The Solstice Company female employee who was assaulted two years ago is named Jane Doe. One month after the incident, she was dismissed due to a work error."

"What's strange is that Jane Doe hasn't worked since and has been staying in her hometown, almost completely cutting off contact with the outside world."

Lily was puzzled. "Didn't they say she had just graduated from college back then? She'd only be twenty-five or twenty-six now. Is she just giving up on life so young?"

"Not giving up, there must be another reason," Sarah Chou said, looking at Celeste Monroe. "I've found her address. As long as you eat obediently, I'll send someone to find her and ask her to come forward to clear Frank Castle's name."

Celeste Monroe immediately took the food container from Lily's hands. "Celeste, wait, the food's cold! I'll go heat it up!"

While countless people were debating or investigating the Frank Castle assault incident, Frank Castle, the protagonist of the event, was leisurely sitting in a dessert shop opposite a lively, beautiful young woman.

"Bro, I didn't sleep all night last night. I registered more than a dozen accounts and absolutely roasted all those idiots who were slandering you!" The young woman wore a chiffon blouse and jeans, her hair tied in a single ponytail, her legs long and slender, her eyes lively. But the words that came from her soft, cherry lips were shocking.

Frank Castle helplessly said, "Sunny, you're a girl, don't use foul language."

The beautiful young woman slapped the table. "What about being a girl? Those brainless idiots can't tell right from wrong. I'm going to curse them to death!"

People nearby looked at her in surprise, then Frank Castle heard whispers: "Isn't that Sunny Fox, the Drama Department's campus belle? Why does she talk like that..."

"You didn't know? Our Capital City Academy of Arts has two campus belles, one 'literary' and one 'martial.' The 'martial' one is Sunny Fox!"

"Such a pretty girl actually curses."

"Too bad she's not cursing at me!"

Sunny Fox heard them too. She stood up and looked around, her bright, clear eyes scanning like lasers. All those whispering immediately fell silent. Frank Castle helplessly said, "Sunny, if you keep this up, no one will dare to be your boyfriend."

Sunny Fox scoffed. "I don't even like men yet!"

Frank Castle immediately grew nervous. "Do you like women, then?"

Sunny Fox rolled her eyes at him. "Bro, why are you acting like Mom? I mean I haven't met a man I like!"

Frank Castle breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a little guilty. His sister, Sunny Fox, was studying in the Drama Department at Capital City Academy of Arts. He had been recording the show in Capital City for so long; he should have come to see his sister earlier. He had been practicing songs at Silverwood Studio for the past few days. Finally, he had some free time today. After visiting his sister, Frank Castle planned to go look for other recording studios. After all, Professor White had only agreed to lend him the studio for a few days; he couldn't keep imposing on her. Moreover, he sensed that Olivia White seemed to have those kinds of feelings for him. Frank Castle was so much older than her and divorced; he couldn't possibly mislead the young woman. The best way was to meet less often.

Sunny Fox suddenly lowered her voice. "Bro, was that Amelia Quinn who slandered you about the assault?"

Frank Castle stroked her head. "Don't get involved in adult matters."

Sunny Fox was displeased and was about to press further when suddenly, there was a commotion outside the dessert shop. The brother and sister turned to look. A young man was kneeling in front of an elegant, gentle woman in a white dress, holding a bouquet of roses, loudly confessing:

"Olivia White, I like you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
