" I thought you said we were going to share the work after I helped you , Ann", Genevieve tried reasoning with her step sister who was just a year younger than her .
" Oh please eve you know I can't stoop so low to your level and do your dirty work ", Ann said making eve furrow her eye brows. This wasn't the first time Ann has spoken bad about her it started when they were both little but it was mild until they reached their adolescent it was as if Ann was so bent on ruining Eve's life and now that their father passed on a year ago Ann and her mother which was Genevieve's step mother treats her like their on personal maid but it was as if she wasn't treated like that before her mother passed away . They were humans but they believed her mother passed away because she was a witch or so but that didn't bother her at all ,the only thing that actually bothered when her father was alive was they he always blames her for her mother's death and called her names.
"Besides what can you do than your dirty work", Ann said brushing her cherry blonde hair " I'm meeting with sir cherlock this afternoon and if you would please stop bothering me while I'm getting pretty sister", with that Ann turned away from Genevieve's piercing grey eyes that looked like pale blue.
' she's still so in mature at sixteen ', eve thought still standing there .
"What are you doing standing there leave my room", Ann said staring at eve through the mirror. On like Genevieve who was a red haired girl Ann was cherry blonde and blue eyed like her mother,she has a striking beauty that any man could ask for but behind the beauty whole facade her character was like that of those vampiress in the high society. Genevieve was just had a pale complexion red long curly hair that stop right below her waist, she is also a beauty but she doesn't see herself like that she always made sure that Ann shines better than her so no one will notice her.
Genevieve left the room not wanting to argue with her younger sister because at the end it will be the mother and daughter duo against her. They weren't rich neither were they poor because before their father sir Reuben winters passed away he left a good amount of properties for them that could last for a more than a year or two.
Unlike Genevieve who was seventeen Ann has started courting suitors who where not only wealthy but good looking and it was only within their town. On the other hand Eve wasn't being courted by prestigeous men they were mostly after her younger sister because eve looked more like a maid in her Father's house that's because that's how they treat her there. She has always hoped that her family will love her for how she is but as time goes by she realized that she couldn't be loved by her family they'll only treat her as a maid there so she gave up and continued to live her life in the shadows of her half sister and step mother.
Genevieve cleaned the whole house after her sister went on her courting with sir Sherlock,she even cleaned her rude sister's room. After that she prepared to go marketing because the weekends are her marketing and she also needs to stock the house.
Making her way through the crowd,noise and some sellers shouting 'buy your vegetables, fresh out from the ground recently harvested,' she heard then another 'buy this precious jewelries all the way from mecca and this gold earrings from Egypt real gold',the seller screamed above some other sellers making Genevieve to close her ear a little. She finally made her way towards a shop owned by the Davidsons , it was a shop that sells things you will need in a kitchen and ingredients you need for cooking. She entered the shop and greeted "good afternoon Mr davidson", she smiled looking at him who also in return smiled and replied.
" A good afternoon to you Genevieve dear ", he said happily, he was the only person that showed her affection like father will do to his children, she has known him and his children for over a decade ever since she started going to the market "good thing you came on time I just gotten Austin to harvest tomatoes and mushrooms fresh from the ground this morning and I had some spices made yesterday evening and I don't think we have meat", he said as if lost in his thoughts.
Eve smiled " that's ok Mr davidson I think the tomatoes and some spices will do", she said to him.
" Well ok since you say so ", he said turning his head to the left where the back door was and he called out "Magdalena!!", a brown haired girl came rushing inside .
" Yes father ", she then turned too see eve she was very familiar with them she smiled " Eve we've been expecting you", she went over to where eve stood and embraced her warmly "how are you doing?", she asked .
" I'm do-", even was interrupted by Magdalena's father.
" As you can see she's fine go get a basket of tomatoes and mushrooms with some spices and some eggs Maggie", he said to his daughter who replied with a nod then rushed to get what her father has asked for .
Eve on the other hand realizing what Mr davidson has told his daughter to bring she refused." Mr davidson I can't take that it's too much ".
" Genevieve why are you still behaving as if we are strangers we have known each other for over a decade, nothing's is too much for me to give you , you are like a daughter to me so take it as a father's gift to a daughter", he's smile faded when he continued " unlike your half sister and step mother who behaves as if they are on top the world, you are clever and a brilliant lady so you deserve everything good", this wasn't his first time telling her this , he smiled brightening up his already paled blue eyes because of old age
