Chapter 60 - Chapter 12: The Bloodstained Mountain Village

Actually, some of the villagers had also wondered why two Transcendents would come to their shabby little village to steal things.

Could it be that young Sean was lying?

However, they all subconsciously ignored this answer. After all, Sean was a child they had watched grow up, while Horne and his companion were just outsiders.

Early the next morning, Horne and his group packed their things and prepared to leave. The final step for the walnut staff was to dry it, which could also be done on the carriage.

Horne didn't want to stay in a village with a wizard for too long.

However, before leaving, Horne still thought he should go to the village to give a warning. Living with a wizard was extremely dangerous.

Since the villagers didn't believe Horne's words and instead regarded him as an enemy, Horne wouldn't try to curry favor with them.

He just wanted to give them a reminder on the way.

Just as they reached the village entrance, a strong smell of blood assailed their nostrils!

All they could see was a glaring red!

The horse bandits on their tall horses were wantonly slashing and killing in the village, while the villagers couldn't put up a decent resistance at all.

Because the two first - level warriors, the guardians of their village, were now hanging from the trees with铁青 faces. Judging from the abnormal color on their faces, it should be that after Horne and his companion left last night, the wizard Sean still took action!

These two first - level warriors were the only combat power in their village. Without them, this small village was as vulnerable as a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

The horse bandits had ferocious smiles on their faces and kept slashing and killing, seemingly enjoying the process of slaughter.

Even without Transcendents, the world was still cruel!

The horse bandit leader, Black Axe, was holding the old village head's head and looking at his men slaying the fleeing villagers with great pleasure.

Weren't they so arrogant? Relying on the two first - level warriors, they didn't take the horse bandits from Lier Mountain seriously and refused to pay tribute to them.

This was the only tough - nut village in the vicinity, which made Black Axe feel extremely uncomfortable and he wished to eliminate it quickly.

However, the presence of the two first - level warriors was indeed a headache. Fortunately, a wizard also had his eyes on this village. Otherwise, it would have cost his horse bandit group a lot to take over this village.

Thinking of the wizard, the horse bandit leader cast his eyes on the wizard Sean, who looked only eleven or twelve years old, and a hint of barely perceptible fear flashed in his eyes.

At this moment, Sean the wizard had a crazy smile on his blood - smeared face. He wandered among the corpses intoxicatedly, occasionally smearing some blood on his face from the corpses and then laughing in ecstasy.

He walked up to the aunt who had protected him last night, squatted down, and lowered his head to the same level as the aunt's.

The aunt wasn't dead yet, but she had been stabbed several times and was bleeding profusely. It seemed that she wouldn't last long.

"Why did you do this to us? We've never treated you badly and always regarded you as our own child." the aunt said with tears in her eyes, full of confusion.

"Yes, you've always been very kind to me, like a mother. But so what?" Sean looked at the aunt mockingly. "Were my parents as pathetic as you are now when they died?"

"How... did you know about this?" the aunt said painfully to Sean.

"What don't I know? You people occupied the village founded by my parents with their blood, and then pretended to be kind to me out of guilt?"

Sean's young eyes were always filled with hatred, while there was a blissful smile on his lips.

"No..." The aunt was about to say something else, but suddenly her mouth was sealed by the scarlet blood and she gradually lost her voice.

"Pfft, ha, ha ha!" Sean couldn't stop laughing. "What does it matter how my parents died? I just want you all to die!"

Sean continued to walk among the corpses like a sleepwalker. If he found someone who wasn't dead, he would make up a stab. These people were all his sources of power and not one could be allowed to escape!

...

Looking at the field littered with corpses, Horne fell silent. Should he have forcibly killed that wizard last night?

The wild witches were also shocked into silence by this cruel scene. The harmonious and simple mountain village of yesterday had turned into a blood - soaked battlefield today. The impact was truly shocking.

Horne closed his eyes, thought for a while, and then turned to leave.

"Aren't we going to do anything?" Ian Parker grabbed Horne's sleeve.

"Everyone is dead." Horne said softly.

"The horse bandits aren't." Ian Parker squinted his eyes. He didn't want Horne to just walk away from this.

"We are wild witches. We don't have the right to show pity on others!" Horne said with his head down. One couldn't see his expression.

Ian Parker was about to say something else when a woman who had been lying on the ground suddenly got up and rushed towards Horne. There was a baby in swaddling clothes in her arms.

She had seen the thunder flashing in Horne's eyes last night and knew that he was a Transcendent!

Just as she reached Horne and his group, a black axe flew directly over and was forcefully embedded in her back! She fell forward immediately!

Horne instinctively caught the woman. She stuffed the baby in her arms into Horne's hands and said, "His name is Shol. Please, don't let him die."

Before Horne could reply, the woman lost her breath. He put his hand on her neck and felt no pulse. She was dead!

The baby in Horne's arms was very well - behaved. He neither cried nor made a sound, with his eyes tightly closed and still sleeping.

Horne reached out to pinch the baby's cheek, trying to tease him.

It felt cold to the touch. He, too, had been dead for a long time...

But his mother didn't know and was still using her last breath to buy a chance of survival for the child!

Horne's pupils constricted slightly. He stood there, holding the child in his arms, motionless.

At this moment,

He didn't want to leave!

The horse bandit who threw the axe was the leader of the horse bandit group, Black Axe. He cursed as he walked towards Horne and his group. In front of Horne, he pulled out the axe from the woman's body and pointed the blood - stained axe at Horne's nose and shouted:

"The little wizard said not to touch you, but don't meddle in this. If it weren't for the fact that I'm in a good mood, I would have chopped you to death long ago!"

After saying that, he leered at Annie and Shirley and said lasciviously, "You two little girls aren't bad - looking. How about being my wives in the mountain stronghold?"

Originally, in Sean the wizard's plan, he was going to wait for a few more days before taking action. But the arrival of Horne and his group last night made him wary, so he started the massacre ahead of schedule.

He had contacted this group of horse bandits long ago. They had a grudge against the village, and just a mention from him and they agreed to his request.

Since Sean's ability wasn't suitable for dealing with too many people at the same time, if he did it alone, many people would escape. But with the help of the horse bandits, it was different.

After all, for every person less sacrificed to the evil god, there was a possibility of getting one less bit of power.
