"Hush. I don't want to hear his name," he growled, before forcing a rough kiss on me.
This wasn't passion.
This wasn't love.
This was pain.
Again.
Always again.
I had no one left. No place to run. No voice loud enough.
He stripped away what little was left of my dignity as I cried, "Please... please... just leave me alone..."
The room swallowed my screams.

Six Months Later
Six months.
Not a word from the world outside.
Not even a whisper from him—the man I once called father.
What if it was all a lie? What if I was never his daughter at all?
I used to see love in his eyes. Now, I'm not so sure.
"Why me?" I whispered. Then screamed.
"Why ME?!"
Why am I the one the universe chose to break?
What about Adrino? Larisa? Were they part of this, too?
No. Larisa couldn't be. She loved me—or she said she did.
My mind is a loop of questions with no answers.
I've been in this house—this cage—serving him as a toy.
I barely recognize myself. I've lost weight, lost color. Lost hope.
I don't dare look in the mirror.
I wonder if, somewhere, they're celebrating.
Or maybe... they never cared at all.
I've read enough Mafia stories to know the girl always gets rescued.
But this?
It's been six. fucking. months.
So, I stopped waiting.
I've learned to play along.
Jamey is obsessed with me—truly, deeply obsessed.
And I've decided: I'll marry him.
Not because I love him.
But because I want out.
Out of this house. Out of this life. Out of this hell.
The door burst open.
"R-Jay," I muttered.
"Sorry!" he said, quickly stepping back out—then knocked, as if that made any difference.
"Mi amor," he smiled. "How are you feeling?"
"Not great. Just... worried," I stammered.
"About what? I can give you anything. Everything. Except freedom."
"I want... to marry you," I said slowly.
His eyes widened. "Wait... you're serious?"
"I've grown to love you," I lied. "You're not so bad. Even the bedroom—I'm used to it now."
"Baby..." he grinned. "You've made me the happiest man alive. This Saturday. We'll get married. Deal?"
"Thanks," I smiled and hugged him. He held me close, inhaling my scent like a predator savoring control.
But I smiled.
Because I knew now—he was the one under my control.

Wedding Day
They tied a scarf over my eyes. Blindfolded. Isolated. Like always.
The ride felt endless.
When the car stopped, they led me out.
And then—
The blindfold was removed.
My heart stopped.
In the front row, looking like death and fire combined, sat Adrino.
My soul shattered.
With every slow step down that aisle, I bled inside.
Everyone had lied. Everyone wore masks.
And as I stood at the altar, choking on betrayal, I whispered the words that sealed my cage:
"I do."
