Chapter 8 - Double Trouble.

"Jack! What are you looking at?" Amanda asked.

"Uh, nothing. I just thought I saw someone I knew". He said, shrugging it off.

"Ooh! Was it a woman?" She asked, cooing at him.

"It was."

"Someone you like?" She tried to prod further.

"Just someone I know, but it wasn't her".

"Ugh! When are you gonna get yourself a girlfriend?"

Not this again! He thought with a grunt.

"I have to go now. I'll call you later". He said and hung up.

If he couldn't make it to her birthday, he would get a teddy bigger than the last one he gave her and stuff it with nutella, oreos and short bread cookies. She loved to eat those kind of things.

She was his little teddy. He just liked getting her cute things.

Back to business.

Was that Cassandra?

The short dress she was wearing immediately reminded him of the photos Frederick Duckweed had sent him.

That woman looked very healthy. Plus, if Cassandra was good enough to stand on her own two feet, Ross would have called him.

Maybe it was just a look alike.

He would ask Tarson to run her through the system and find out exactly who she was.

It was just too much of a coincidence for the two women to be so identical.

Even the twin that Tarson had found for him was not identical. They just had a lot of similarities.

He called Tarson.

"Mr. Pole? I wasn't expecting you to call so soon". Came Tarson's deep voice.

"I need you to search your database for anyone identical to Cassandra Wilson".

"Do you have a name?" Tarson asked.

"No. Will that be a problem?"

"No, Sir. It will just take a lot longer to find her".

"Send it to my email. You have two days". He said and hung up.

He called Katherine.

"Mr. Pole. Good morning. Anything I can help you with, Sir?" Katherine said.

"I want you to make a Portuguese Visa application for Miss Cassandra Wilson. You already have all her data". He said.

"Should I also make an application for you as well, Mr. Pole?" She asked.

He had not intended on going initially, but now that she had asked, he might just tag along.

"Yes, I would be joining her".

"Would you be using the jet?" Katherine asked.

"Yes. Call the crew to do a maintenance check".

"Is that all sir? Would you like me to secure a hotel for you in Portugal?" She asked.

He thought for a moment.

"Not a hotel suite, secure a house by the sea side with a beautiful view". He said.

"How long will you be staying?" She asked.

"I won't be staying long. Miss Wilson, however would be staying for a while. Set up a Portuguese bank account for her and transfer five hundred thousand dollars into it".

"Will do, Sir. Is that all?"

"Secure a job for her in a good law firm that pays well".

"That means I should apply for a work visa for her". Katherine said.

"I trust you know what to do. Call me if you have any questions." He said and hung up.

Now that all that was settled, he could finally focus on his meal.

When he was done eating, he requested for the check. He paid and left.

Cherry, he read from her name tag, did not stop making eyes at him till he left. She was probably a college student.

He had left her a generous tip, but she was too busy staring at him to notice.

He knew he was handsome. He even used it to an advantage at times. But at times like this, he wished he was covering his pretty face.

He walked down to the hospital. Maybe, just maybe, Cassandra might know something about her mystery look alike.

When he entered her room, she was sitting up. They were doing a physiotherapy session. She was being asked to moved parts of her body. Her joints were being tested to see her reflexes.

He waited aside patiently.

When the doctor was done, he smiled at her and began to pack up his things. He nodded at Jack as he left.

"You seem more lively". He said.

"The doctor was very nice". She said with a smile.

He felt an insy winsy bit jealous.

"Yeah, he seemed nice". He said.

"So, what brings you here?" She asked, laying down on the bed.

"I want to ask you a few questions".

He got the file from Ross and came back.

He handed her the picture.

"Does it ring any bells?" He asked.

Her fingers traced the face of the woman in the photograph slowly.

"This woman looks just like me". She whispered in awe.

"So are you trying to say that that is not you?" He asked, leaning forward.

"No. Of course not". She said.

"You can tell me the truth". He coaxed.

She looked up at him with disbelieving eyes.

"What do you take me for? A whore? I have never even seen this man here in my entire life". She said, tapping at the man in the picture.

He saw that she was genuinely angry and took it as an insult.

"But that is you, isn't it?" He asked.

"It looks like me, but that isn't me. What hotel is this? Renoiee? I have never been there". She said.

"I saw a woman that looked like you today. She was wearing a dress similar to the one being worn in the picture".

"If this picture was taken in Washington. Why is she in Carlifornia?"

"That picture was taken months ago. Look at the date". He said, pointing to the date at the bottom left.

"No. You don't get it. I was in Washington, she was in Washington. Now, I'm in Carlifornia and you said you saw her here. Doesn't that seem too much of a coincidence?" She asked

"So, if this is not you, then, your fiancee is trying to make you suffer for a crime you did not commit". He asked.

She sat in silence.

"Then, we have to find her".
