Chapter 8 - First Draft

The Examination/Verification came to a close and all awakened slaves were sundered according to the level of their awakening.

Each were given a city to occupy as they await the message from the Player's Association.

Those who skills were A ranked remained in the Rosaria City which is a Sector 5 Domain City.

B ranked occupied a Sector 6 Domain City, C ranked occupied a Sector 7 Domain City and the list goes down.

Savitar on the other hand was supposed to dwell in a Sector 4 or 3 Domain City but due to the worthlessness of his skill and his trash Starlight Output.

He was deemed useless and disrated into a Sector 10 Domain City.

{Location}

{Sector 10 Domain: Haelzerion City}

A brazen downpour erupted. Distorting movements, inhabitants of the City were forced to stay at home due to the blistering cold.

Difference between Sector Domains is the level of protection shared amongst them. Cities within Sector 10 rarely receives anything from the Empire.

They had limited amount of blessings they received from Aurora.

Occupied mostly by vulgar people and beggars. The air reeked of disgust.

Crimes wasn't just about survival in the Sector 10. Crime was a hobby.

And the Haelzerion City is infamous for its lawlessness.

This was where only Savitar was designated to dwell.

Amidst the blistering cold of the night. The fervent storm erupted. Sending scorched dusts into the air.

Approaching footsteps echoed. Despite his struggles to move in silence, the downpour had its own ways of doing things.

Clad in black leathered trench coat, with brown colored timberland covering his feet's. He held an umbrella, walking through the silent street during this drizzling period.

His grip on his umbrella handle tightened. Protecting himself from the scorched wind which blew passed him.

"It's being two days already since I was disrated into this city. I'm yet to receive a notice or a letter from the Empire"

"Probably Ducktavious and Quackwisha would already be scouted by top guilds within the Empire"

"They both awakened A ranked quality skills. They have a great future ahead of them"

"But my case is different. Even though I awakened an SSS class Skill. It's just useless"

"A worthless skill that doesn't even deserve the D rank. Such a shame" the hackneyed voice of Savitar was heard.

"Tch. Why do I have to suffer like this" Savitar growled.

His eye's reddened. Tears threatened to fall but he held it in, its unnecessary for a slave to cry or shed tears.

He kept advancing forward. Having to return from where he went, he returned to the downpour but continued his journey.

Savitar kept walking through the barren street when he overheard strange noises.

He quiescently followed the direction of the noise.

He walked into a corner to see a gang beating up a commoner. This commoner had his shirt ripped off while bathing in the rain.

Already soaked up. He had repeated knife marks displayed on his skin.

The scars he had received prior to the events were evident.

"Gang members? Based on the reaction of the victim. He's probably an ordinary commoner returning back from his workplace "

"Ambushed by this gang members amidst this storm. This is what this city really is"

"This City's hell" Savitar whispered.

He kept watching while hiding himself from their detection. If they had awakened their Starlight Energy.

Through , they could easily detect him.

He confirmed his first suspicions. They were just ordinary gang members beating up people for greed and violence.

"Tch, this is troublesome. What should I do? Those guys are not awakened, I am but I only have my Starlight Energy"

"My skill is useless so basically I can't do anything "

"Should I go save that man or should i just leave him?" Savitar aske himself.

He's seen in deep thoughts.

"I'm just a slave. It will be foolish of me to play the hero. This is the Empire, they are all properties of the Empire"

"They should kill themselves" Savitar made up his mind to leave.

He turned his back. Quietly walking out of the scene.

Meanwhile the ordinary worker. The victim had been severely battered, although they were ordinary men.

Unawakened but they are ruthless. Vile and twisted.

This are what criminals looks like in the Empire.

They were spotted giggling softly, enjoying the treatment they unleashed against the poor innocent man.

He crashed on the ground with heavy thud.

He felt his spine cracked. The immense caused to scream out loud but a gang member slammed his feet into the mouth of the victim.

Silencing him by sending his neck crashing into the ground.

"Shut your trap bitch. Who the hell do you think you are to scream out eh?"

"Are you expecting some savior to come to your rescue? No one's coming to save ya boy"

One of the gang member bragged. From his gaze one could tell he's enjoying this very much.

"Please take my money and spare my life. Please spare me, i don't want to die" the young man screamed out loud.

Pleading for his life as his body quivered due to the tension.

The gang members who surrounded him chuckled.

"Spare your life and take the money huh? Ofcourse we'll take the money but the part were you mentioned sparing your life…"

"That ain't happening boy"

"You see something. Your dying here tonight, due to the restrictions of the City's Mayor. We are restricted when it comes to killing "

"We can't kill in the day so when night falls. We kill…he-he-he-he" the gang member recognized as the team leader giggled.

He brought out a radiating dagger from his pocket.

He stood before their shivering victim. He could see the eyes of the young man laced with fear. His heart leapt with joy.

The gangster bent his back down a bit. Glaring into the eyes of his victim.

He threw his right hand forward. Sending a thrust.

The tension in the air declined at a rapid pace.

The gangster was bewildered by the pressure who gripped his right arm. Restricting him from killing the young man.

The rest of the gang members were beyond shocked.

"How did this boy walk passed them without being detected?"

That's the question they asked themselves.

Standing before them is Savitar. He hid not his face. Standing in the heavy rain, he locked eyes with the gang leader.

"Sorry for interrupting your party but no one's dying tonight. I would have let you have your way if you were simply going to rob him"

"But killing is a different case" Savitar uttered.

"Huh?"

"Who are you?" The gang leader questioned.

"Someone who doesn't matter. I'll let you go now but promise not to hurt anyone and leave this place"

"I have somewhere to go now" Savitar said.

Without further talks. He released his tightened grip from the wrist of the gang leader. He drifted his attention towards the bleeding young man.

"You don't have any reason being here right? Please leave while I'm still here" Savitar spoke out.

The young man obeyed and he hurriedly departed before anyone could utter a word.

Rushing out of the corner and into the stormy streets.

Savitar let's out a sigh of relieve. He's imperturbable. Despite being surrounded.

"Now that the guy is gone. There's a reason for me to remain here, goodbye guys" Savitar said with a smile.

He turned to leave when he sensed something.

Murderous intents.

The gang leader thrusted his dagger against Savitar. Savitar's eyes flickered. He could feel his resonating Starlight Energy.

Trait Blue.

Using his to broaden his spatial awareness and detection. He evaded the gang leader's attack.

Taking a step sideways. He enveloped his arms with Starlight Energy.

Bang!

"Keuukkk"

The gang leader received a fist to the chest. He coughed out bloods from his mouth, the pressure from the attack sent him crashing into a wall.

The rest of the gang members witnessing this were all perplexed.

"What? He defeated big brother with a single strike?"

"Wait? That blue light? He's a Starlight Controller"

"That's "

"Is he a player?"

"No we are dead. We need to run"

"This can't be"

"We need to inform the boss about him"

Savitar could hear their whispers from the distance between himself and the gang members.

In the end they abadoned their team leader and chose to run for their safety. Savitar bent his head down.

[Notice. You have exerted ten percent of your Starlight Energy. Initiating cooldown]

Applying his Starlight Energy into his arms elevated his strength. Granting super strength compared to what humans could ever obtain.

Staring at his arms. He couldn't help but smile.

"This spatial awareness. This strength….is this what it means to be a Starlight Controller. Compared to the average human"

"We're gods" Savitar muttered.

Savitar's eyes broadened. Woken up from his thoughts when he overheard the screeching screams of the gang members.

"Isn't that the direction where the gang members ran towards? Why are they…." Savitar couldn't complete his statement.

Silenced by what emerged next.

Bloods splattered and the heads of the gang members were thrown into the scene. Savitar's eyes twitched.

He staggered back. Overwhelmed by the blood stained heads.

"Ah boy. You should have slaughtered this fools when you had the chance, why leave me to take care of your mess"

A familiar voice echoed from the shadows.

"Wait this voice. It's familiar " Savitar muttered.

"Who are you?" He questioned.

Approaching footsteps was heard. Each second the footsteps drew closer, tension escalated.

Emerging from the shadows is a man dressed in black leather jacket.

With a bandana covering his head.

His black gloves were already stained by the bloods of the gang members he had slaughtered. On his right hand did he hold the head of the last escaping gang member.

And on his left hand. He held a letter.

"Good evening boy…..how have you been?" The stranger questioned, still grinning.

Savitar's mouth opened up in awe. He was stunned.

"In…Inqui….Inquisitor Jay? What are you doing here?" Savitar asked. Still perplexed to see an Inquisitor standing before him.

"Boy. I'm here to deliver thee the decree of the Empire"

"You have received your first draft as an awakened slave"
