Sergio Lucian's POV
"What do you mean the boy is gone? I have waited for this damn opportunity for ten good years, how dare you stand and say nonsense to my face?" I glared at Luca, my most trusted buddy, we've been friends since childhood.
"Lician chill, we are definitely going to get him, maybe not tonight, but definitely."
"That's nonsense. We are getting him tonight."
I'm a man of little words, I speak slowly, but every one of my words carries a dominating aura. I rarely lose my cool, I smile even in the face of danger, but tonight I was going to do whatever it takes to get that Marcus of a guy, I learnt that he has information about the death of my twin sister which happened 5 years ago while we were just 19.
My only aim of taking over the underworld business is to find whoever is responsible for her death.
"Get inside the car." I gesture for Luca to take the front seat while I drive.
"Calm down Sergio Lucian, the boys are already following him."
I don't have time for nonsense tonight." I hopped into the driver's seat, Luca had no choice but to jump in.
My grip on the wheel tight, the tires screeched as I floored the accelerator, the car fiercely shot out the driveway.
"Lucian, slow down! We'll catch him, but not if you drive us into a wall"
"Not tonight," I growled, my eyes never leaving the road . "I'm not dying tonight."
I smiled seeing that Marcus' car was just a few cars away.
"You better have something good on this guy," I said doubtfully. "Because if this is a setup, heads will roll."
"Believe me," Luca said, trying to maintain his balance as the car lurched. "We've got eyes on him. He's heading towards the industrial district. It's a perfect place for him to hide."
I skillfully maneuvered through a narrow alley, cutting off Marcus' escape route. The car jolted as it bounced over potholes.
"Get ready, it seems he's about to jump off his car."
Marcus's car skidded to a stop in a deserted area of the industrial district, the engine sputtering before it went silent. Seeing that he was cornered by Sergio Lucian and his men, he jumped out of his car and sprinted towards a dark alley.
I smiled satisfactorily. "Now get him."
Within a few seconds, Marcus was brought back by my men. "Boss we got him."
"You must be Marcus… I've heard a lot about you. Heard you know something I've been waiting to learn for ten years."
"Fuck you Lu...…."
I didn't even let him finish my name before I punched him hard on the face.
"You bastard, do you think you can make me talk….."
I kicked all over his body till he was coughing out blood. I don't want to hear anything from him unless it has to do with the information I needed.
Marcus coughed, spitting blood on the floor. "I don't know what you're talkin' about, Lucian."
"So what is it that you thought I wouldn't be able to get you to talk about? Huh?"
Luca landed a heavy punch to Marcus' ribs, making him groan in pain. "You sure about that? I suggest you think again."
"My twin sister was killed 5 yrs ago by a Don in the underworld, I've never thought of inheriting this shady business, but for her, I did, I would stop at nothing to get what I want, and I think you're about to tell me the information I've been looking for."
Marcus shook his head, his breath coming in ragged gasps. "You're wastin' your time. I don't know nothin' about Lucy."
"It's Lucia not Lucy...." I yelled loudly in pain, as I kicked him continuously.
"You have to calm down man….. you can't kill him now." Luca whispered to me while he dragged me backward.
"Ahh" Marcus groaned.
"If you give us the information you know, we might let you live depending on its relevance but if you don't, you'll die while the main culprit lives on, isn't that pitiful?" Luca was way better at talking so I let him interrogate Marcus.
Marcus' gaze flickered between us, he seemed to be weighing the options. "Alright… alright… I'll talk. But if I do, promise to let me go."
I nodded to Luca when he looked at me for approval.
"Fine, we'll let you go."
"Lucia was too close to your father, it would have been better if she had stayed with you in Africa..."
I gnashed my teeth, I knew my sister would have been alive if she had stayed away from my father's business. I refused to be close to my father because I was running away from his business. I never wanted to inherit it, Lucia became a better option even though she was just a delicate girl, she was bold and fearless.
Marcus coughed again. "She was just a kid but she discovered a conversation between Parker and his associates about a deal gone wrong. They were planning to frame your father's gang for a failed drug shipment..." Marcus paused. "Funny how a 19 year old girl took their flashdrive and tried to crack it herself….."
"Continue, don't stop." Luca yelled at him.
I stood frozen to one spot, trying to process everything. I'm aware I was the one who heard the conversation he was talking about and I only told my sister about it, which led her to stealing their flash drive and tried to protect father.
"She was so close to the truth, before Parker finally silenced her."
"And where is that bastard?" I grabbed Marcus' collar.
"I…I don't know."
"That shows how useless you are." I pulled out a gun from my waist, but I felt someone staring at me from a distance.
I looked at the figure from my peripheral view, it was a petite, frail looking figure. I hesitated a little, then I noticed the figure had been watching the whole scene all along.
I gesture to two of my men standing a distance far away to go look it up.
"Please…don't kill me…I've given you all you need to hear….. you promise to let me….."
I shot him twice on the head, I was tired of his pleas. "You didn't give me all I needed to hear, Parker's whereabout is still unknown."
I threw my sorry ass frustratedly into the passenger seat immediately we got to the car.
"Boss, she's just a common librarian living around. Her house isn't far from here." Dominic's voice broke me from my thoughts.
"A common librarian you say? She's seen a scene she isn't supposed to, who else has a dark skin like mine around? Do you think I'm in the mood to deal with the cops right now?"
"Sorry boss"
"Sorry for yourselves, I need everything about her by tomorrow…. Let's see if I can keep her alive… I'll leave her if she's a twin or an only child, at least I'm still righteous."
Luca giggled before taking the driver's seat.

"About that stray cat from yesterday, Dominic has all the info, and I think it's just what you would want to hear." Luca interrupted my shooting practice.
"What's there to hear? She's a twin?"
"No, she isn't."
"Then get rid of her."
"I bet you wouldn't want to…."
"What's wrong with you Luca? Is she the incarnate of Lucy?"
"You wish she was." Luca replied.
"Are you fucking with me right now? I don't mind trying this gun on your head."
"No, I don't dare…. But she's someone very interesting, it's so unbelievable that she has the guts to live in that kind of environment."
"I don't like interesting people, get rid of her, that's all I want."
Luca raised both hands in surrender. "You win."
He turned to Dominic who was smiling. "The boss said you should get rid of Miss Claire Parker."
The name Parker alone made me miss my target, I threw the gun. "What did you just say? Miss Claire who…?"
Luca smiled. "Claire Parker… She's the girl from yesterday."
"Parker's got some nerves, he dare send his daughter to spy on us…. I see…. Bring her here tonight, I need her unharmed."
"Noted."
"That was exactly how she found herself in my space. I think she's truly interesting, but she's got some nerves."
"She thinks she can make me change after seeing the vulnerable side of me just one night. Maybe she doesn't know she's just a bait to get Don Parker out of his hiding."
In the next five days, if Don Parker still refuses to make a move, I'll get rid of Claire, because I don't like girls around me, talk more of dumb annoying ones like her.
My own way of getting rid of her is by letting her go complete, I won't let anyone hurt her because she's not wrong me in anyway.
I AM STILL A GOOD MAN.
