Chapter 5 - Secret Exposed

[You can disperse that mentally, disperse it now though since you have no need for it at the moment.]

Tissa nodded and the illusion shattered within mere moments. "What's next?."

The Wand flipped a page. [Let's do a more complicated one now, a mirror spell that's actually helpful]

"Ok, what is it called." Tissas asked, she was much more enthusiastic than before and the Wand could clearly feel it.

[The Reflection of Luck and Misfortune, the runes used for this are, The Rune of fate, The Rune of Foresight, The Rune of Luck, The Rube of misfortune and the Rune of Kin]

Tissa's eye's lit up at the spells name. "That sounds powerful."

[Yes it is a spell tha either shows you something that can help you or something that will leave you in bad luck]

Tissa blinked, suddenly less certain. "Wait—either help or screw me over? That's not very reassuring."

[Magic reflects intention, not comfort. This spell draws from your own emotional and spiritual state, and the Mirror Realm amplifies the result. It does not judge—it reveals.]

"That's even less reassuring," she muttered, cracking her knuckles. "But fine. If I can't trust my own power, who can I trust?"

[Exactly. Now focus. You must draw the runes in sequence while thinking of a question, a decision, or a path. The spell will manifest the answer—favorable or not.]

Tissa inhaled slowly, centering herself. Her thoughts spun like threads, but one thing came clear: What am I really meant to do as a witch? The transformation, the loneliness, the pull she felt toward mirrors since that day—it all had to mean something more than just new clothes and flashy powers.

She raised her hands.

"Fate—Tek."

A pale silver rune shimmered into being, curling like a thread of destiny.

"Foresight—Owl."

This one blinked into place like a glowing eye, watching.

"Luck—Yol."

A playful spark flickered at her fingertips, radiant green and dancing erratically.

"Misfortune—Din."

Dark, jagged, and slow—it slithered into the air, crackling with dull red light.

"And finally… Kin—Nuh."

This rune came softly, like a whisper of connection, glowing with mirrored hues and faint heartbeat pulses.

As the final rune hovered in place, the five symbols spun into a single ring, hovering in front of her. The runes pulsed and collapsed into a mirror shard—flat, hovering, and quivering like it didn't know whether to scream or laugh.

Suddenly, the shard expanded and projected two visions—split down the middle.

On the left: Two witches were walking towards her house which made her fell quite strange and a slight danger was now presently making itself known to her.

On the right: Two girls who l99ked her ages one had blue eyes and slightly midnight hair and the other was a blonde with green eyes. The girl with blonde hair was trying to help the other girl walk. The girl with blue eyes also felt...familiar? Like they have met somewhere before.

Suddenly the girl with blue eyes paused and then looked straight at the mirror with a slightly confused expression. She then muttered something no one could hear but Tissa did. "Someone is in the mirror..."

Then the shard in the left exploded and the one on the right disappeared into a golden glow and entered into her wand.

Tissa stumbled back a step, blinking as the visions faded and the last remnants of magic dissolved into the reflective surface of her Wand.

"…Okay," she said, voice low. "That was… a lot."

[You just peeked through two diverging threads of possibility. One rooted in danger. One… in connection.]

Tissa rubbed her temples. "So, if I understand this right—two witches are heading to my house and they're bringing trouble, and then there's… those girls." Her gaze turned distant. "The blue-eyed one… I know her. I don't know how, but I do."

[...She has energy converging towars that of a Vampire and that if a witch, She is a Vampira]

---

Kirika didn't know how to react to the sudden appearance of a girl appearing in the mirror, she was just about to take a few steps towards it even. But she disappeared as quickly as she came.

She decided not to think about it all that much and focus on getting the hand if walking....again. yuna wad a great friend for helping her, but she really needs to keep her thoughts in check...

//I'm close to her again...hehe, should I tease her a bit, no that would ruin her progress in walking and she would probably be mad at me...//

Kirika pouted, of course she would be mad she wants to walk and feel her feet touching the ground.

After a while Kirika could finally walk without the support of Yuna. "It feels refreshing to stand up."

Yuna blankly looked at her, did she grow taller or...her mind must be playing tricks on her but even if she did gain a bit of height it wasn't that much, she was just taller than her by an inch but the growth spurt was unexpected, pheromones maybe?.

Yuna shaked her head. Now that Kirika was a bit better, it was now time for her to investigate some things, like how was the incident with the Terrorist even related to Terrorist, from what she had gathered up, the explosions that happened was abnormal.

The newspapers could also be lying and spreading fake information among the populace to hide something far more concerning than mere Terrorist.

As Yuna was thinking, she suddenly felt an intense gaze and turned to see Kirika l99king at her with a smile, she was about to ask what was wrong when she saw something red flash in Kirika's eyes.

She blinked and rubbed her own eyes and then looked at Kirika...her eyes were the same blue colour...it seemed something was wrong with her today. Yuna rubbed her head and then asked Kirika what was up. "Hey, why are you looking at me like that."

Kirika replied happily. "You smell delicious."

Yuna stepped back instinctively, her heart skipping a beat. "Wh-what did you just say?"

Kirika tilted her head innocently, her smile remaining unchanged. "You smell really delicious… like warm cinnamon and sweetened blood." Her tone was dreamy, as though she were talking about a favorite dessert rather than her best friend.

"Kirika…" Yuna's voice was low, hesitant. Her eyes scanned her friend's expression, trying to gauge whether she was joking—or worse, if she even knew what she had just said. "You're scaring me a bit."

Kirika blinked slowly, as if coming back to herself. The red glint in her eyes had faded now, replaced by the same soft blue from earlier. "Sorry," she said quickly, rubbing the back of her neck. "That was… weird. I didn't mean to say that out loud. It just… slipped."

Yuna narrowed her eyes. "Slipped?"

"Yeah. Just a thought. A weird one," Kirika added quickly.

Yuna was not dumb, ever since yesterday Kirika has been acting weird, replying to her the moment she thought about something embarrassing, Saying weird things. Her skin was still pale and her teeth—she did not bother about that before but her canines were sharp though it is barely noticeable. "That wasn't a thought...what's wrong Kirika, I'm your best friend, just tell me the truth and I'll understand."

Kirika stared Into her eyes and nervously laughed. "I was going to tell you after a week but it seems I can't really keep secrets for long...so I don't really know what exactly is wrong with me, ever since I woke up I felt different, for example I could and can read all your thoughts or accidentally come across them if that thought is specifically about me, I also started to have cravings for blood It seems and I think this all happened when I was desperate to live."

Yuna took in a deep breath and walked towards her chair and sat there, her eyes dimmed slightly. "What do you mean by that?."

Kirika sighed and wne in front of Yuna. "Well when the explosion happened, I was still awake, first I saw a large metal pole embedded in my abdomen, probably going through my back and my legs crushed under a rubble at that moment I uttered a sing sentence, 'I don't want to die' and truthfully I really did not and in my moment of desperation a white dressed girl appeared towards me, seemingly unaffected by the entirety of the destruction around us and asked me if I wanted to survive, I of course said yes at thay time and she said my wish was granted and I blacked out, 3 months later, I woke up in the hospital and then met you entering my room...but I didn't really know what the girl did to me and if you ask me if I regretted accepting that deal...well not really, I didn't really want to die."

Yuna sat in silence, her hands clenched together in her lap as her mind replayed everything Kirika had just said. A strange girl, an impossible offer in a moment of certain death… and now, the cravings, the thought-reading, the flashes of red in her eyes.

"Kirika…" she finally said, her voice soft but firm, "you realize that's not a normal resurrection story, right?"

Kirika gave a half-hearted chuckle, sitting beside her. "Yeah. Pretty sure normal people don't come back from near-death craving their best friend's blood and hearing thoughts like background noise."

Yuna glanced at her, trying to read her expression—any sign that this was a delusion or a lie. But Kirika wasn't joking. She looked… scared. Confused. Like someone trying to hold herself together with invisible thread.

"Do you still feel like yourself?"

Kirika hesitated. "I do but I feel like I have more needs now, for example food tastes absolutely blank for me but it is still edible."

Yuna pressed her lips together, a cold chill crawling down her spine. "Blank? So… blood is the only thing that tastes like anything now?"

Kirika looked away. "I haven't had any. I don't want to. But… yeah. Everything else feels like chewing dust. The only thing that gets any reaction from my body is the scent of—well, people."

Yuna exhaled, slowly and carefully. Her logical brain was trying to catch up with the horror fantasy playing out in front of her. "You know...I think three people surviving that explosion isn't a coincidence at all."

Kirika's eyes lit up. "Does that mean the other two have become something like me?."

Yuna absentmindedly nodded. In her mind there was only one thought. Supernaturals exist and if so why are they hiding in human civilizations because she knows beings who are stronger than humans can easily overthrow them.

But she should also add the factors of them being restricted by something much stronger than them, was it a law that supernatural creatures shouldn't interact with humans and speaking of that. It seems she need to have a word with her dad. She wasn't going to belive he knew nothing of this, he is a detective that deals with many strange unquestionable cases for almost ten years. Such a man like him had multiple secrets that shouldn't be disclosed to ears or eyes if normal civilians.

Yuna was agitated, she needed to write this down in her chalk board and dig through some files in her fathers office.

Seeing her brainstorming like that, Kirika went to the bed and sat at the edged and waited for her to finish, she swinged her legs and sighed. If she didn't say Yuna's blood was delicious maybe she wouldn't have found out.

How infuriating, though she knows Yuna won't hate her, she is still a bit worried about her going out of control and biting Yuna, though that seemed quite impossible. She could feel that she can suppress this Vamprism coursing through her.

[Will you not come claim me master?, I have been waiting in the vast blue skies and grounds drenched with blood of your kins for three months now]
