You slowly look up from the screen and see her narrow her eyes at you, then you turn and run.
You sprint through the hallway like someone that has been set on fire and Hana roars behind you; actually roars, like the time she was auditioning for a drama where she was to play as both the villain and the monster at the same time.
Students part for you two like the Red Sea, some scream and you see a flash of light which seems like someone is seriously taking pics.
But you don't have time to think about you embarrassed you'll be if the person prints it out and then pastes it on the class board, because Hana is running right behind you.
"GET BACK HERE!" She yells.
"IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!" you yell back.
"YOU ACCIDENTALLY SAID I LIKE TAEHYUN?!"
"I DIDN'T SAY IT! THE DIARY DID!"
"Oh, you're so dead."
While running you regret every life choice you've made since finding that diary.
Then you cut left, through the music hall, nearly crash into the band kid holding a tuba, and duck and then into the locker corridor.
Yet Hana is still close behind you shouting, "YOU ABSOLUTE SPINELESS FREAK—COME BACK HERE AND DIE WITH DIGNITY!"
She throws a milk carton at you like a brick and you scream when it lands on your neck and topples off, landing and pouring milk all over the vending machine which causes the milk behind you with a splash.
You run around the corner into the cafeteria, nearly knocking over a table of underclassmen, and hear at least one of them yell, "It's happening again!"
------ Whatever that means.
Students cheer and more phones come out.
Jisoo is recording from across the room, laughing like the mad woman she is------ turns out it was her that was taking the pictures when you first started running.
She cheers you, "GO, MINJUN! GO! I GOT ANGLES!"
You jump over a chair, nearly trip over a backpack, and shout to Hana, "I DIDN'T MEAN TO!"
"YOU MADE ME LOOK LIKE A SIMP!!!" Hana screams.
Somewhere, someone yells, "SHIP IT!" and you just hope the earth opens up and swallows them whole.
You flee through the double doors on the right and literally jump into the gym.
Inside there a teacher is napping in the corner with a bucket hat over his face.
He stirs lazily, lifts the hat up, sees what's happening… and immediately pulls the hat back down.
You almost cry when you realise that he's not going to help and barely manage to zoom past the climbing ropes then climb past the mats and the rows of sneakers that smell so rotten like stinky unwashed feets.
Hana now into the gym room as well, bends down, scoops up a dodgeball and raises it high in the air with her right hand then throws it at you.
You duck it----- thank goodness--- and hits the fire alarm panel which ends up going off with a loud continuous BEEP sound.
Hurriedly, you make it through the second gym door on the back end to the left and run into the hallway, turning right which is past the math room and then left by the janitor's closet, panting like your lungs are about to explode in a million pieces.
But you don't stop----- your life depends on it.
You keep running and reach the hallway by the girls' bathroom and skid to a stop, feeling legs wobbling and your vision more than just slightly vibrating.
Then—
She slams you into a wall and corners you, placing one arm against the wall and totaling blocking your path from leaving.
You just manage to brace yourself when she hisses;
"You... Gave me... The diary."
"I didn't mean to!" you wheeze. "It was a joke, Jisoo's fault--- she thought it would be fun."
She pulls the diary out of her tote bag and raises it to your face, making you flinch.
"Why is it in my bag?!"
"I panicked!" you admit.
"You made the entire school think that I confessed to a guy I barely speak to!"
"Jisoo thought it'd be funny to put the diary in your bag, but I didn't mean for it to write something for you and self fulfill! It wasn't supposed to… you know… ruin your life."
"Too late," She growls and grabs your arm, kicking a toilet door open and yanking you inside with her.
"What are you doing?!"
"I'm going to flush this demon book down the toilet where it belongs."
"But why do I have to be with you!!!!" You ask and pull at her hand that's still holding you, but she doesn't bulge, and also doesn't answer your question.
While still holding you, Hana uses her left leg to kick the toilet lid open but then the diary slips from her hand, falls and lands on the floor with a thump.
------ With it's pages open.
You both stare down at it and there is a new line of sentence in fresh ink, YOUR handwriting and still wet- looking.
> You're both being watched.
You freeze in place and Hana steps back slightly, letting go of your hand in the process.
The hallway outside the toilet is quiet so you don't hear anyone.
But then, instinctively you slowly raise your head—
And see someone on top of the toilet door of the toilet---- which is just a door away from the one you're in---- is staring down at you and Hana.
The person is obviously not a teacher but also doesn't like like someone you recognize.
And you can't exactly see the person that well because the toilet beside you doesn't have any light in it, so the person is almost looking like a shadow.
You take a step back and so does Hana.
"Is that… someone from the class?" she asks under her breath.
"No," you say. "I've never seen them before."
The figure tilts its head, then it takes a step forward, obviously heading to you two.
You grab Hana's arm. "Run."
"No," she says, yanking her arm off from your grip.
"We're not running."
And you look at her like she's lost her mind.
