[Shirou, his mind racing, revved his motorcycle's engine as the sound echoed down the empty street. The black night swallowed his figure, his thoughts focused solely on one thing: reaching Shizuka before Yggdrasil's people could finish what they started. His grip tightened on the handlebars, and the engine roared to life as he accelerated, cutting through the cool night air.]
[Behind him, the police car followed closely, its headlights sweeping across the road. Officer Shin, Officer Ryou, and Captain Reina were silent, their faces tense as they stayed on his tail. Kei had taken the backseat, his casual demeanor belying the seriousness of the situation.]
Shirou: thoughts
I have to save her... I can't let them take her again... But what if I'm not fast enough? What if I'm already too late?
[His heart pounded in his chest as the seconds stretched into eternity, the flickering streetlights passing by like staccato beats in a dangerous symphony. Every part of him screamed to push forward, but even with his motorcycle's speed, the distance felt like an eternity.]
Captain Reina: over the comms, voice strained Shirou, you need to slow down. It's too dangerous to be reckless now.
Shirou: gritted teeth I can't. I won't let her die.
[The air was thick with tension, but no one said a word as they continued down the road. The abandoned church near Ishita Intersection was rapidly approaching, its silhouette standing like a sentinel in the distance, surrounded by dense trees and neglected structures.]
Kei: glancing over his shoulder, eyes narrowing Keep an eye out. We're being followed.
Officer Ryou: sharply What do you mean?
Kei: smirking, but a hint of wariness in his tone Someone's tailing us. And they're not trying to hide it. No casual observer moves like that.
[Just then, Shirou glanced in his side mirror — three black vans, seemed to be following them at a steady pace, moving with precision.
[Shirou's breath caught in his throat.]
Shirou: over the comms, voice strained Everyone, we've got company. The mafia's following us.
[Captain Reina cursed under her breath, her grip on the steering wheel tightening.]
Captain Reina: growling We can't let them get any closer. Stay sharp, everyone.
[Kei, ever the nonchalant figure, raised an eyebrow but said nothing. He was used to danger, used to being hunted.]
[As the group sped through the dark streets, the eerie feeling that they were being watched intensified. Shirou's mind raced, trying to formulate a plan. They needed to lose them. But the night was too quiet.]
[The church was only a few turns away. But Shirou knew that getting there wasn't the end — it was only the beginning.]
[The lights of the church finally came into view, casting long shadows across the overgrown grounds. The cold, stone walls seemed to breathe in the night air, a chilling sight. Shirou's pulse quickened.]
[He was so close.]
[They were blocked by a large rubble near the church, making a dead end, the vehicles screeching as attempting to stop.]
[Shirou didn't hesitate. He immediately drew his pistol from the holster at his side and aimed it at Behemoth, the cold steel a brief comfort in his hand.]
Shirou: shouting Get ready! They're here!
[Before anyone could react, gunshots rang out from the shadows. The mafia members, concealed in the corners of the van, opened fire. The sound of automatic weapons cut through the air, the sharp cracks echoing off the stone walls.]
[Shirou dove behind a crumbling pillar, narrowly dodging the barrage of bullets. Officer Shin and Officer Ryou followed suit, taking cover behind the police car. Captain Reina swiftly got out of the vehicle, her gun already in her hand as she crouched behind the wreckage of a stone archway.]
Captain Reina: yelling over the gunfire Stay low and keep moving! We can't let them pin us down!
[Kei, with his usual calm demeanor, smirked and pulled a combat knife from his belt. But instead of using it to fight, he threw it into the direction of one of the mafia members' guns, knocking it out of their hands before firing his own sidearm.]
Kei: grinning Let's see how well they fight when their toys are taken away.
[Shirou, heart pounding, fired back, each shot purposeful and precise, but the mafia members were numerous and well-positioned. He barely had time to duck as a bullet flew past his head.]
Shirou: gritting his teeth We need to get inside the church! It's the only way out of this mess!
[But before anyone could move, Behemothemerged from the van, his own weapon drawn. The gunshots rang out with a deep, unnatural boom, like thunder striking the earth. He aimed at the group, firing indiscriminately, his immense strength making the gun feel like it was an extension of his own monstrous power.]
Behemoth: shouting You're not escaping this time, kid!
[The bullets whizzed past them, and the group quickly scattered, but it was clear: they were outnumbered and outgunned.]
Officer Ryou: pushing his back to a pillar This is insane. We can't keep dodging like this! I can't believe this, of all the Four Fiends, this big guy showed up?
[Shirou shot a look over to Captain Reina, who was already moving toward the church's entrance, signaling for the group to make a run for it.]
Captain Reina: yelling To the church! Move, now!
[With no more time to waste, they broke cover, running toward the abandoned church. But as they moved, the mafia members took their opportunity, firing at them from every angle. Shirou, his mind focused on one thing — getting to safety — returned fire as he sprinted toward the church, each step quicker than the last.]
[Shin was already at the front door, kicking it open with ease, and signaling for everyone to enter.]
Officer Shin: smirking Get in here! It's the safest spot we have.
[The group rushed inside, but even then, the gunfire didn't stop. The mafia members were closing in fast, their footsteps growing louder as they pursued.]
Shirou: panting, to Captain Reina We don't have long. If we're going to make a stand, it's now.
[Captain Reina nodded, her jaw clenched with determination.]
Captain Reina: Prepare yourselves. We're not going down without a fight.
[They took their positions inside the church, hiding behind ruined pews and stone walls. The echo of the chase had faded, but the silence in the church was thick, almost suffocating. The only sound now was the steady drip of water from a broken pipe, and the distant sounds of footsteps getting closer.]
[The mafia wasn't far behind.]
[Shirou's heart beat in his chest like a drum. He could feel the weight of the moment settling in, and his fingers tightened around his gun.]
[Outside, the mafia members were closing in, their guns drawn and ready for the final confrontation. Shirou and his team braced themselves. It was going to be a battle they couldn't afford to lose.]
[The door bursts as Behemoth entered the room. The team were attempting to shoot but he didn't attempt the same.]
[A smug grin plastered on his face. His massive gun was raised, but instead of looking focused, he seemed almost amused, as if the situation was more of a game than a real threat. His deep, booming voice carried a mocking tone as he addressed Shirou.]
Behemoth: smirking Shirou Fukushima, huh? You're the one they've been talking about? I've heard about you. Just a small-time civilian playing at hero. Do you really think you can stand up to me?
[Shirou's grip tightened on his gun as he raised it to aim at Behemoth, but he didn't fire. Behemoth's overconfidence was glaringly obvious, and it irritated him. This was no time to show weakness.]
Shirou: gritting his teeth I'm not the one underestimating you. You'll regret it when I take you down.
[Behemoth let out a booming laugh, the sound echoing through the dark streets like a thunderclap. His giant frame seemed almost too large for the narrow alleyways they were in. He casually adjusted his weapon, clearly not taking Shirou seriously, as if the battle was already won in his mind.]
Behemoth: chuckling You think you're the first to challenge me? Don't make me laugh. You're out of your league, boy.
[Officer Ryou and Shin suddenly stands in his way.]
Officer Ryou: Stand back, Shirou. We'll handle this big guy.
Officer Shin: Save Shizuka for us, 'kay? smiles
Shirou: Thanks, Officers. Kei, Captain, let's go.
[The two nodded as they go deeper in the church, while the two officers are left behind, facing Behemoth.]
Behemoth: sighs What a shame, I want to test out that brat's limit though.
Officer Ryou: interrupts, scoffs Too bad, you're stuck with this two brave folks!
Officer Shin: smirks Prepare to face justice, "Force of the Four Fiend, Behemoth".
Behemoth: Do you think—you law enforcement weaklings are able to put a scratch on me?
Officer Ryou: We'll find out then!
[With that, Behemoth fired a shot, the bullet tearing through the air at the officers, but it was sloppy and slow. Ryou and Shin barely had to move, diving behind a pillar to avoid the shot. It wasn't that Behemoth was incompetent—he just didn't feel the need to take this seriously.]
Officer Shin: He really is underestimating us...
Officer Ryou: Then we gotta show 'em what we're really made of, ay?
Officer Shin: Bet!
[They peeked out from behind his cover, firing a few shots of their own. Their aim was steady, controlled, but Behemoth easily avoided them, his movements sluggish but sure. The mafia's brute force was as predictable as it was dangerous, and Behemoth's confidence seemed to fuel his recklessness.]
Behemoth: mockingly Is that the best you've got? Come on, kid, show me something interesting.
[Just as Behemoth taunted them again, Ryou's eyes narrowed. The arrogance radiating off the giant was only making him angrier.]
Shirou: shouting over the gunfire You're gonna regret underestimating us. Let me tell you that the two of us here, are different than the sloppy ones!
[As the fight between the three escalates; Shirou, Reina, and Kei went to the basement and saw Shizuka, her fair body gripped tight on the rope.]
Shirou: Shizuka!
[Shirou tried to approach her, but Reina stopped him.]
Reina: Shirou, wait! Look at the floor closer.
[The three leaned onto the floor, surrounding Shizuka was a tripwire that could trigger an immediate bomb that was attached on her.]
[Shirou can't help but to exclaim.]
Shirou: Curses!
[They had made it this far, but the night was far from over. Shirou's fingers tightened around his weapon as the team gathered near the entrance, their senses on high alert. The silence of the church was unnerving, almost too perfect.]
Kei: low, tense
Stay sharp. This place feels wrong.
[Before anyone could respond, the doors of the church suddenly slammed open with a loud, jarring crash. Shadows shifted within the dim light, and the sound of footsteps echoed from the darkness.]
[Then, like a flash of lightning, a figure emerged from the shadows—Yggdrasil, her presence as commanding as ever. She was completely unphased by the tension in the air, her eyes locked onto Shirou's with an icy determination.]
Yggdrasil: smiling coldly I knew you'd come, Shirou. But, it seems you weren't listening to what I have said earlier.
Shirou: scoffs You've done the same thing too. I was just— returning the favor.
Yggdrasil: Well, none of that matters. I gathered you here to mark your end.
Shirou: And what do you mean by that?
[Her eyes gleamed with a mixture of calculation and malice. She was far more composed than Shirou had expected, the calm before a storm that only she knew how to create. But as always, her movements were smooth and precise, a predator assessing her prey.]
Yggdrasil: The boss wants you dead. He thinks you're a pest to deal if you're left roaming. Might as well to end this farce.
Shirou: So, that's your true plan, huh?
Yggdrasil: Aww, don't be sad, Shirou. I'm sure you are safe and sound, if you just leave Shizuka to us.
Shirou: Like I would!
Yggdrasil: casually, as if she had all the time in the world You really think you can save her? You've been playing right into my hands, Shirou. You've always been so easy to manipulate.
[Before Shirou could retort, the sound of hissing mechanisms filled the air. Suddenly, the walls around them shifted, revealing hidden traps. Steel bars dropped from the ceiling, and from the dark corners of the church, multiple armed figures emerged—clad in black, their faces hidden behind masks, their weapons raised and ready.]
Shirou: eyes narrowing I should've known you'd have backup.
Yggdrasil: leaning against a pillar, her voice steady I'm sorry, Shirou. But I was given an order. This ends here.
Kei: Leave this guys to us. You handle "Miss Danger" there.
Captain Reina: reassures him We'll give you support. Stay alive at all cost.
Shirou: Thanks.
[With the sudden opening provided by Kei, Shirou and the team rushed forward, pushing through the masked figures as they fought back with everything they had. The church was alive with the sound of gunfire and chaos.]
