Chapter 79 - Volume 1: Chapter 79 - Slaying the Demon Ancestor's Clone

After speaking, the Demon Ancestor clenched his right fist and swung it forward.

Bang!

Spiritual energy condensed in his hand, exploding with a thunderous roar as he punched. Transparent ripples surged outward, whipping up gales that swept through the entire valley.

"Too bad I could only send a wisp of divine thought to this demon king's body, boosting its power slightly. But it's enough to kill you!" The Demon Ancestor looked up at Lin Yu, his eyes flashing with诡异的 (bizarre) scarlet light. "Now, die!"

Boom!

As the words fell, the Demon Ancestor stomped the ground, cracking it. Cracks spread outward, and within ten zhang, the earth collapsed. His figure shot up like lightning, leaving afterimages as he appeared before Lin Yu in an instant, his right fist—凝聚 (condensed) with surging spiritual energy—forming a vortex that smashed down.

Lin Yu raised his sword and slashed. The Wind Controlling Sword blazed with fire intent, crashing into the spiritual energy vortex. A thunderous boom shook the valley, sending rocks cascading from the cliffs. The fire intent dispersed the vortex, igniting the scattered energy into a spreading flame. The powerful sword intent sent the Demon Ancestor flying dozens of zhang, his legs sinking into the rock as if planted there.

"Impossible! You're only Myriad Manifestations Sixth Grade, but this body is Eighth Grade!" The scarlet light in the Demon Ancestor's eyes flickered wildly with fear. Lin Yu's strength far exceeded his imagination—crushing an Eighth Grade at Sixth Grade was unheard of, even for peerless prodigies.

"Who says a Sixth Grade can't kill an Eighth Grade?" Lin Yu淡淡 (calmly) glanced at the Demon Ancestor and opened his hand. The Wind Controlling Sword trembled, hovering above his palm as cyan lights condensed on its blade. It then spun around Lin Yu as a cyan streamer.

"Sword intent of wind... Sword control... So that's it!" The Demon Ancestor's expression changed. He'd only sensed Lin Yu after Yuan Ye's death, his gaze blocked before he could fully understand. Now he realized why Lin Yu feared nothing.

"You threaten our demon plans too much. You can't leave alive!" Spiritual energy burst from the Demon Ancestor, shattering the rock beneath him. He rose into the air, glaring down. "Today is your death day!"

Boom!

Scarlet flames erupted from every scale on the clone, turning it into a blood-covered figure. The Demon Ancestor dove like a meteor, his right fist—sheathed in flaming blood—hurtling toward Lin Yu like a falling crimson star.

Lin Yu smiled, willfully commanding the Wind Controlling Sword to shoot toward the star as a cyan rainbow. This strike unleashed his full power: wind intent on the sword formed ancient, complex inscriptions, each resonating with the Dao of Wind—far mightier than mere intent. As Lin Yu channeled his wind intent, his Saint Emperor Sword Body comprehended, subtly tempering the intent into wind inscriptions.

Where the sword passed, a black trail and ripples appeared, as if space itself would split. The cyan rainbow sliced the crimson star in two, which exploded into blood-red ripples covering the valley like a lingering cloud.

The Demon Ancestor's eyes filled with horror as the sword approached. Death loomed. Though this body held only a wisp of his divine thought, projecting it across space had drained him. If this clone perished, he couldn't send another thought soon. This clone was far from irrelevant.

But Lin Yu's sword strike was too fearsome. Even as he condensed a blood barrier, the sword shattered it. Rampant spiritual energy flooded the valley, turning it into a sea of blood.

"Lin Yu! Wait for me! I won't forgive you!" The Demon Ancestor roared, his voice echoing in the blood cloud. He couldn't fathom losing to a Sixth Grade after claiming an Eighth Grade body. Next time, he'd prepare fully.

Before the roar faded, the Wind Controlling Sword pierced his forehead, annihilating his divine soul. The scarlet light in his eyes dimmed, replaced by panic. "W-why is my soul dissipating?"

As the Demon Ancestor's divine thought vanished, the Blood Robe Ancestor regained control—but death awaited. Lin Yu shook his head; the sword arced back, splitting the dying ancestor in two.

The moment the ancestor perished, Lin Yu felt another malicious gaze pierce through time and space, fixing on him—an eternal surveillance. "Dammit, that old bastard won't leave me alone! Cauldron Lord, time to work."

"Relax, I'll block his gaze," the Cauldron Lord said. The feeling of being watched vanished, confirming the Cauldron Lord had intervened again.
