Rain poured hard over the city.
Zarin sat at her window, watching Helious sleep beside her desk. His black fur shimmered faintly even in the dark. Since the monster incident, he had been… quiet. Not weak—just still. Like something inside him was changing.
But Zarin's life was getting worse.
Rumors had started. Her classmates called her cursed. Some even said the monster was after her.
One day at school, a strange substitute teacher arrived—tall, pale-eyed, speaking in riddles.
He looked at Zarin.
"You carry the scent of death and destiny. Do you even know who watches you, girl?"
Zarin blinked. The class laughed. But the teacher's eyes glowed… like fire.
That night, as she slept, a mark began to glow faintly on her palm—the same shape as the rune Helious once saw on Odin's spear.
Helious sensed it. He stood, watching her from the corner.
"They've found her…"
Outside, shadows moved. The trees shifted.
Something was coming.
CHAPTER 7: The Three Hounds of Helheim
In the dead of night, three monstrous creatures emerged from the forest.
They were Helheim's elite trackers—The Three Hounds:
Varn – made of black flame.
Skor – with jaws that could crush stone.
Dregga – who fed on souls and silence.
They weren't here to kill.
They were here to drag Helious back.
Helious stood in front of Zarin's house. His eyes were no longer just red—they were glowing with ancient energy. He growled low. For the first time in years… he was afraid.
"I'm not going back," he said—not with words, but with his presence.
The hounds attacked. Silent. Swift.
Helious met them in the air, claws out, body wrapped in dark lightning. The clash shattered windows and made the earth tremble.
Zarin ran outside, barefoot.
"Helious!"
He was outnumbered. But not outmatched.
He roared—activating Eye of Hell, but this time… something was different. The beam split into three, hitting all targets at once.
The hounds collapsed, stunned.
But one whispered:
"She bears the mark. She will be hunted. She is the key."
And then… they vanished.
Zarin ran to Helious, trembling. He was wounded again—bleeding shadow instead of blood.
"Why… why do they want me?"
Helious didn't answer.
He just nudged her hand.
And the rune on her palm glowed once more.
