"And what do you mean by that?" The tone of boss came harsh and unexpected.
Aurora seemed to halt in her reasoning for a while but she regained herself sooner.
"I wanted to know more about the coin. Why exactly is it so dangerous." She apparently knew nothing about the piece of metal that was so precious yet so dangerous.
"You don't need to know that young lady. Your job is to find it!" He said firmly.
"Okay I understand." She handed up and places her cell phone on the wooden table in the room.
She remembered the charming mafia Lord she had met at the bar when the men had caught her eavesdropping on their conversation and he only made her fell more goosebumps than ever.
The moment she realized that she would have to go on this journey alone she realized that her mental health had already gone weak and she planned to take a long break after this mission – hopefully she would be given that grace.
But back to reality….
She was still stuck in between and there was no turning back.
She had been able to book a room in a hotel, of course with a fake identity – just like always.
But she couldn't be there for too long. She would have to move to the next step immediately.
Since she now knew that the coin was not just dangerous but was also very powerful, she figured that only the most powerful mafia lord would have it in custody.
Therefore she would have to find out who exactly was the most powerful mafia Lord in the whole of New York City.
But how?
She thought for a while and then picked up the phone again.
The sweet and gentle voice of a female was heard on the other line as soon as it was picked up.
"Hello.." she said in a very low tone.
"Uhm..can I speak to Josh please?" Aurora said. She felt quite awkward as she heard the voice of a female instead of Josh's voice.
"He's asleep.." The lady replied with the same low tone.
"Can you wake him up please, tell him it's Aurora on the line."
"He's asleep, don't you get it?" Her voice suddenly turned rude.
"Hey, what's wrong with you? Get out now!" Aurora could hear Josh's voice scolding the lady and she figured that she must be his new mistress.
'Classic Josh.' She said inwardly with a slight chuckle.
"So sorry, amor. How are you doing? Why did you suddenly remember to call me today? Did you miss me?" His voice changed to his usual playful tone.
"No I didn't. Well maybe, but no." Aurora giggled and sat on a sofa in the room.
"Where are you? Let me come get you for some steak."
"Well I'm actually in the middle of something." Aurora replied.
"What's that? Are you on patrol? Oh my, my fearless journalist." Josh chuckled on the other line.
"Yh, but no one has to know. And I can't disclose any information to you but I need just one thing from you."
"Throw it to me, baby. You know I'm here for you." Josh's voice became more relaxed and serious.
"Do you have any idea who the most powerful and dangerous Mafia Lord in the city may be? I just need to know please…" She asked as she anticipated his reply with every breath she breathed out.
"Well.." He paused to think and Aurora could only hold tightly onto the phone. "That will be the heir to the Blackwood clan."
"And his name?" Aurora asked with impatience and curiosity.
"Julian De'Marco."
…
"Mr Blackwood, I have postponed the meeting to next two weeks and there are also no other meetings for next week just like you requested." Sultan said as he tried hard to catch up with his boss's long legs.
"Good." Came his one word reply.
"Is there any other thing you need sir?" He asked and got into the driver's seat as his boss entered the passengers seat.
"I need more information on that woman. Something just feels off and I want every single detail about her and how she met him."
Although his boss's reply was unexpected he knew his next task for him won't be easy like always.
But this one just seemed weird and unlike for his boss to request for the full personal information of a lady.
"Yes, boss." He had no choice but to oblige to his request.
"Get it done as soon as possible. I don't want any excuses." came the harsh reply of his boss.
"Yes, boss." Sultan immediately started the engine of the car and it zoomed off immediately and into the busy road.
"Goodnight, boss." Sultan smiled brightly as his boss alighted from the car and slammed the door shut behind him.
"Night."
Knowing how indifferent and harsh his boss could be, Sultan accepted the unfriendly reply and zoomed off immediately to have a peaceful rest.
Julian Blackwood walked into his mansion through its large doors and he was greeted with the merry sounds of glasses clicking on to each other, chatter sounds and laughter – like a party.
"In my house?" Julian's eyes turned cold.
"Hey, Julian's here." Lucas rushed over to him with his arms wide open for an embrace.
"Don't you dare." Julian stopped him halfway with a disdainful glance that could send one to his knees if only the eyes alone could kill.
"Cool yourself down with a glass of whiskey bro. You really look tired." Bernard walked over to hand Julian a glass of whiskey.
"Yeah, yeah..you should." Lucas agreed.
"What are you drunkards doing In my house at this hour? Don't you have homes, or probably wives?" Julian's piercing eyes focused on the three men and he ignored Bernard completely.
"You really need to get an assistant bro, your secretary can't keep doing every mother fucking thing for you, you know?" Lucas said and gulped down all the content in his drink at once.
"Don't get me annoyed this evening, Lucas." Julian took off his suit and unbuttoned the first two buttons of his shirt.
"Won't you come drink with us, Julian?" Mike, the only reasonable one to him out of the three, finally spoke.
"I'll come down after my shower." He walked up the long stairs to his bedroom instead of taking the elevator and shut the door behind him.
"Sultan, get the request for a personal assistant out tonight." He said as soon as Sultan picked up the phone.
"Okay, boss." Sultan couldn't hide his excitement as he had long hoped for his boss to get an assistant so all the work wouldn't be placed on his head.
Julian handed up the phone immediately and placed his cell phone on the bedside table then he walked into the bathroom for a warm bath.
He felt a sense of ease as he knew that Sultan would take care of getting him a new assistant.
