'Damn... my head hurts'

'Wait why does my head hurt... I don't know'

There was silence for a few moments.

'And why is everything dark? Lemme try and stand up'

He tried to stand up but found that he was in no control of his body. In fact, his body felt very strange and yet familiar.

'What happened...'

He tried getting up but it proved futile. With his head aching and being disoriented, he decided to give up until he felt better.

'Did I fall asleep? Maybe this is just a dream... But why does it hurt so much.' He involuntary tried to stand up again but his body let him down.

Then finally, after a long while, color began to come back. Everywhere was no longer enveloped in black.

The first thing he saw when his vision came back was the red sky... No, the sky wasn't red it was just the red clouds.

He tried to turn his head to the side but that took a lot of effort. In the end he was panting heavily and hardly.

When he finally turned his head to the side, he saw the broken buildings and growing lush forest and green grass. The forest was near the edge of a red lake.

"This is not my room!"

He said with difficulty as he tried to speak. His voice was hoarse and sounded like the grating of iron.

He looked at the forest and the still red lake in confusion. "Could I really be dreaming... But the pain feels so real." He said and tried to stand up.

In doing so, memories began flooding him as they slowly appeared in head.

Grey Reynolds, 16 years old. He was formally in the Prestigious Moon walk in the southeastern continent Kamui, Griffin county. His parents were Jack Reynolds and Lilly Reynolds, who died two years ago.

His father was an doctor and he mom was a nurse. Both working in the same hospital until they were wiped out by gods power.

He also had an older brother and a younger sister, but he did not know where they were. He was currently in a corroded zone where gods power had landed.

He had been here for three months until... He died.

''What I died... Wait a minute, it looks like I've transmigrated into another person who just died not long ago. But I didn't die, did I?"

He suddenly remembered his step mom who was holding a shot gun at him as he walked away. There was a loud bang and he felt something in the back of his head...

The back of his head was also hurting like hell.

"Looks like I've transmigrated. But I didn't really think such things exist. At least my name is still Grey. But where am I?"

"Ah, yes. Now I remember."

The previous owner of this body was the sole survivor of gods power in the city where everyone else had died. Only he lived and had been alone here, surviving for three months until he met his end, sadly.

"Being rammed over by a Minotaur was not a good way to die after all." Grey shook his head and tried to sit up. His succeeded, albeit with much difficulty.

"Let me take a look at my appearance." Then he slowly started to crawl to the blood red lake. His body aching in many places but he still persevered. And after many minutes, he was near the red water.

As his hand felt the moisture, he pulled himself with his upper body and took a glance at the previous owner's body and he was shocked.

The previous owner was a young man with pale full of dirt and injuries. His face was covered in different cuts and wounds, Same with his body. His clothes were ripped in several places and under his clothes, you could see various injuries. His hair and eyes were also grey but the latter was lifeless as if he's had the life drained from him. Well maybe he has. He could have passed for a handsome young man with delicate featured if not for his dead cold eyes and detached expression.

Grey smiled tiredly and shook his head. At least he was somewhat handsome. He took a deep breath as he tried to remember where he was. As he focused, the splitting pain in his head came back and with it, more memories as well.

He had been in the wreckage of buildings on the other side of the city, when he saw a bright purple light fall from the sky. He was curious and came to take a look when the Minotaur rammed into him at full force and he died not long later.

He had not found the source of the purple light yet but he had almost found it. Near the shore of the red lake when he was killed.

Grey shook his head again, lamenting the death of the previous owner of his body.

"We both seemed to have died because he couldn't watch our backs."

But the source of the purple light was not too far away from the lake actually, and the Minotaur rammed him forward close to it.

"Let's go see what brought you here, shall we." And at that, he began to crawl slowly. Now he realized the reason why he couldn't stand up before, his leg was broken.

Sweat accumulated on his forehead as he endures the searing pain in his body and pushed forward.

After nearly ten minutes when he thought he couldn't go on any longer, he saw a bright purple light up ahead. It gave him enough motivation to push through to reach it.

A few minutes later, he held a purple crystal in his hands. The crystal let out a bright enveloping light and covered the immediate surroundings in purple.

"Damn, I'm tired." With the purple crystal in his hand. He held it to his chest. As much as he wanted to study it, he was in too much pain and needed to rest first. Until he regained his strength he could do nothing.

The purple crystal kept giving out purple light and that light enveloped Grey. As that light enveloped him, he didn't even know when his broken legs began to heal and the countless scratches he had on his body began to close up. Even the deep gash on the back of his head stopped bleeding as much.

As he began to realize something was wrong, the pain in his legs had reduced significantly and the headache had lessened.

"Huh, what happened. Is it because of the purple crystal."

He said with a hint of surprise in his voice with shock. He tried standing up and although it was still painful, it was bearable in the least.

He was now standing on his feet. Although his body looked familiar, it felt a lot different. His center of gravity had changed and it required some effort just to stay upright.

He felt lighter, and a bit delicate. That thought almost made him laugh but he focuses his mind and made to walk away.

More memories were still flooding him and as they came, he began to learn more about this world and the dangers he was in.
