Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

You can also become stronger by eating Sea King meat.

In this world, the strong are often ravenous—and it's no coincidence. But hunting a Sea King is no easy task, especially for a ten-year-old. For now, Charlotte had to focus on training. Only when he gained the strength to protect himself could he think about sailing out to hunt the terrifying monsters of the sea.

The island Charlotte lived on was incredibly small. The only habitable land was a coastal port town, where a little over 1,000 people lived. Behind the port loomed towering mountains, occupying nearly 90% of the entire island—untamed, uninhabited, and perfect for training in solitude.

Charlotte had grown up an orphan. He never knew his parents. His early years were supported by the mayor's family, but life had always been hard. That's likely why the boy he had reincarnated into had been out fishing alone at the beach that fateful day—only to be swept into the ocean and dashed against the rocks.

Now reborn, Charlotte had no intention of living a pitiful existence.

Without a second thought, he stepped out of his thatched hut, machete in hand, and headed deep into the untamed mountain wilderness. He didn't look back.

From that day forward, he set himself a small but significant goal: to become the conqueror of the mountain.

At first, he lived simply—drinking spring water when thirsty, eating wild fruits when hungry. He narrowly avoided poisoning himself more than once. But every time, a strange sensation would rise in his mind—like a danger signal. It reminded him of Spidey-sense from his previous life. But in this world, it felt more like a form of instinctive future-sight.

Thanks to this sixth sense, Charlotte adapted quickly to his rugged lifestyle. He began hunting wild beasts with traps, sharpening his survival skills and trading furs for tools when he occasionally returned to the village.

Despite the isolation, Charlotte never felt lonely. On the contrary—he was excited. Every morning, he could feel his body growing stronger than the day before. Gone was the frail child who could be knocked down by a wave. Now, he could face off with wild mountain boars—and win.

Even more strange: whenever he got injured, a single hearty meal would heal him overnight.

The bizarre logic of the One Piece world was revealing itself more and more each day.

Eventually, his current training regime wasn't enough. Push-ups and sprints didn't tire him anymore, no matter how long he pushed himself. He needed to push beyond the limits.

So, Charlotte packed up his most valuable collection of furs from a year of mountain hunts and headed down to the port market.

There, amidst the bustling stalls, a lone figure caught everyone's attention: a child barely 1.5 meters tall, effortlessly carrying cargo taller than most adults.

"Wait... isn't that Charlotte? I thought he vanished?"

People whispered in surprise. Charlotte had rarely been seen for the past year. Even the mayor barely knew where he'd gone. Now, he appeared at the market like a ghost from the mountains.

He found a prominent spot, unrolled a blanket, laid out his goods, and sat down calmly, waiting for customers. His demeanor—cool and aloof—drew a crowd.

But soon, murmurs began to rise.

"What's he doing setting up shop here?"

Charlotte's annoyed gaze flicked over the growing crowd. "Buy something or move along. Don't block my business."

The onlookers paused. Then, as if on cue, a threatening voice pierced the murmurs.

"Kid, did you even check whose turf this is before setting up shop?"

A group had been eyeing Charlotte from the moment he laid down his wares. Four or five men stepped forward, parting the crowd, followed by a burly thug with a golden chain around his neck and a gleaming gold tooth in his mouth.

"That's the Wild Wolf Gang's boss!"

As soon as he appeared, the townspeople scattered like leaves in the wind.

The gang boss swaggered toward Charlotte, eyeing the furs laid out before him. "Nice fur... No cuts, no blood. That's quality. Looks like fox hide."

He smirked and grabbed two pelts.

"These'll do as payment for using our space."

Before he could withdraw his hand, Charlotte reached out and grabbed the man's wrist—hard.

The gang boss tried to pull away but couldn't budge.

Charlotte met his gaze coldly. "You want the furs? Pay up. Twenty Baileys each."

The boss threw his head back and roared with laughter. "Hahaha! You serious, brat? I don't pay for anything around here!"

His men joined in, laughing with him. Then he yanked hard, trying to shake off Charlotte's grip.

But the boy didn't move.

Charlotte stood, gripping the boss's wrist tightly. "Seems like you're looking for trouble."

The gang leader scowled and tried to draw his dagger with his free hand, but Charlotte shoved him—hard. The man lost his balance and crashed to the ground.

"Boss!"

The gang members shouted in alarm, pulling out clubs and knives as they charged toward the boy.

Beneath Charlotte's foot, the gang boss squirmed and roared. "Let me go, you brat! You're dead! You're so dead!"

But Charlotte's foot held him down like iron shackles. He wasn't going anywhere.

The onlookers gasped.

"This kid is done for... He's crossed the Wild Wolf Gang."

But Charlotte's calm expression didn't change. Watching the thugs rush at him, he smiled.

He shifted slightly, then exploded into action—three punches, two kicks.

It was over in seconds.

"Ugh!""Aaagh—my ribs!"

The five gang members groaned on the ground, defeated and dazed.

The leader, Bess, lay under Charlotte's foot, staring in disbelief. The townspeople were just as shocked. He hadn't even seemed to try.

Charlotte ignored the stares.

He bent down, yanked the gold chain from Bess's neck, tore the gemstone ring from his finger, and then—with one final punch—smashed it straight into the gang boss's mouth.

Bess howled in agony.
