Chapter 1 - Reborn into a New World

Part 1: My Reincarnation

It had been a month since my reincarnation.

The first time I opened my eyes, I saw what appeared to be my parents.

They looked quite young—around twenty years old. Was it accurate to call them young? I suppose so.

Right away, I realized this wasn't my homeland. The language was unfamiliar, the faces somewhat distinct, and their clothing resembled that of a native village.

No electronic devices were in sight. Instead, someone in an apron was wiping a table with a cloth—no computers, no signs of electricity anywhere.

Part 2: My Family

Six months passed.

My reincarnation was undeniable—I was clearly a baby, as I could tell from how they held me.

During that time, I absorbed bits of the language. Words, phrases, even whole sentences, though I still couldn't speak.

I don't know how I picked it up so quickly. Normally, memorizing isn't my strong suit, so perhaps this body retains information with unusual ease.

My parents often said things like:

"He hasn't cried since birth. I'm worried."

"Even now, he doesn't cry."

Part 3: Magic?

Another month passed, and I began exploring my surroundings.

This was definitely a village—I had no doubts.

Through the window, I took in the peaceful rural landscape.

Houses were scattered around, and near a golden wheat field, several families lived.

It was clearly a rural area—no electricity, no power lines.

I'd heard that in some countries, cables run underground. I wasn't sure if that was true—I'd never seen it myself. Being addicted to computers, adjusting to this was hard, but I supposed I couldn't complain.

As I pondered all this, I caught sight of my father swinging a sword outside.

"Does he think he's Musashi Miyamoto or something?" I wondered, amused by his antics.

(Wait... damn.) As I rocked in my chair, I lost my balance and fell backward, hitting my head hard. Naturally, I didn't cry—after daily bullying, this was nothing.

A woman's scream pierced the air.

My mother, who had just finished drying the laundry, dropped the clothes and rushed over, her pale skin and frightened eyes locked on me.

"Lest! Are you okay?!" she cried.

After exchanging looks, she sighed in relief.

"...You seem fine," she said, heart pounding.

Her expression told me the fall might have been dangerous.

She inspected my head and said,

"Just to be safe—"

Placing me on the table, she began to chant:

"May the power of God bring forth a bountiful harvest and grant strength to the one who has lost it, allowing him to stand once more, 『Healing』."

Wait, wait… is this like singing 'Sana sana culito de rana'?" I thought.

A green light radiated from her hand, and instantly, the pain vanished.

"Your mother was a famed adventurer. You'll be fine," she said warmly.

Immediately, memories of countless isekai flooded my mind.

Mages, swordsmen, magic systems, races—an endless flood of information.

Outside, my father looked through the window after hearing my mother's cry.

"Dear, Lest fell and hurt himself."

"It's alright. Remember, you can always heal him, love," my father reassured her as he entered to comfort her.

Part 4: Lilia's Life

While I was adjusting to this new world, others were fighting their own battles.

Lilia was one such soul.

She had once served as a maid and bodyguard at the concubine palace of the Kingdom of Asura. Though not a master swordswoman, she fulfilled her duties diligently. During an assassination attempt on a princess, she was wounded by a poisoned blade. She survived but was left with a permanent injury. Unable to continue as a guard, she was dismissed without compensation.

Realizing she'd been used as a pawn in political games and fearing for her life, she fled the capital for the peaceful rural region of Fedoa. Seeking work far from noble intrigues, she hoped for a quiet life, yet still needed to support her family.

After a month of searching, she found a listing in the village of Buina: a low-ranking knight sought a maid skilled in childcare and childbirth assistance. The name sounded familiar—Paul Greyrat, an old acquaintance from her fencing days. Though Paul had surpassed her years ago in the dojo, she didn't remember him as unkind.

Lilia applied and was hired immediately, as Zenith, Paul's wife, was about to give birth. Her experience proved invaluable, and she was warmly welcomed. The salary exceeded expectations, granting her the stable, dignified, and well-paid job she sought.
