Lily gasped as she opened the box, revealing a delicate silver bracelet with a small, intricately carved pendant. It was a beautiful piece, clearly handcrafted with care and attention to detail.
"Sam, this is gorgeous!" Lily exclaimed, slipping the bracelet onto her wrist.
"You made this yourself?"
Samantha nodded, a small smile playing on her lips.
"It's a symbol of our friendship. The pendant is a lily, of course."
Lily threw her arms around Samantha, hugging her tightly.
"Thank you, Sam. I love it."
Olivia opened her box, her eyes widening as she saw the dress inside. It was a stunning piece, made of shimmering silk in her favorite shade of blue. The design was unlike anything she'd seen before, with intricate pleating and delicate lace accents.
"Samantha, this is... this is incredible," Olivia breathed, holding the dress up to admire it.
"How did you know I'd love this?"
Samantha grinned, her golden eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Hehe once you looked at my clothing designs in my design handbook and once you said a nightingale dress that was that of moon and deep sky you wish to call that design Ollie Moon so I named this dress after that and guess what you are the first to get this design and they will only be one kind of this color," Samantha said as she took a sip of hot sweet tea.
Lily and Olivia were touched by Samantha's thoughtful gifts, their faces lighting up with genuine happiness. Samantha felt a warmth spread through her chest, grateful for these moments of genuine connection.
As the evening wore on, the girls continued to chat and laugh, their bond growing stronger with each passing moment. Samantha listened attentively as Lily and Olivia shared stories about their lives, their dreams, and their hopes for the future.
But as the clock struck nine, Samantha knew it was time to head home. She stood up, stretching her arms above her head.
"Well, ladies, I hate to break up the party, but I should probably get going."
Lily and Olivia protested, but Samantha insisted. She hugged her friends tightly, whispering a heartfelt "thank you" in their ears.
As she stepped out of the cafe and into the cool night air, Samantha felt a pang of sadness. She knew that this could be the last time she saw Lily and Olivia as equals, as friends.
But she pushed those thoughts aside, determined to make the most of the time she had left.
Back at home a cup a tea was thrown.
"Aww daddy you messed," Samantha said as she took off her shoes and sat down.
"Samantha how dare you go and flirt with other man while you are engaged to Hudson!"
"Sorry but I am breaking off that engagement," Samantha said he found Hudson annoying and so arrogant.
Richard's face turned beet red with anger, his eyes bulging with rage.
"What did you just say?" he sputtered, slamming his fist on the table.
"You can't break off the engagement! Do you have any idea how important this union is for our family? Hudson's father is a powerful man, and this marriage will secure our future!"
Samantha rolled her eyes, unimpressed by her father's outburst.
"And what about my future, Daddy dearest? What about what I want?"
She stood up, her golden eyes flashing with defiance.
"I won't marry Hudson. I won't be a pawn in your political games anymore. I'm done being your puppet."
Richard stood up, his chair scraping loudly against the floor.
"You ungrateful little... I won't tolerate this behavior!"
"Tsk tsk so annoying," she muttered and walked up the stairs why not force Jessica to marry someone. Samantha walked inside the bathroom and went into the bathtub.
As Samantha soaked in the tub, she couldn't shake off the tension from the argument with her father. She leaned back, closing her eyes and trying to relax.
Suddenly, she heard a soft knock on the bathroom door. She opened her eyes, frowning slightly.
"Yes?"
The door creaked open, and Jessica peered inside, her expression cautious.
"Samantha? Can I come in?"
Samantha hesitated for a moment before nodding.
"What do you want, Jessica?"
Jessica entered the bathroom, closing the door behind her. She leaned against the sink, her arms crossed over her chest.
"I heard what happened downstairs. With Dad and Hudson."
Samantha snorted, sinking deeper into the tub.
"And?"
Jessica bit her lip, looking torn.
"Tsk tsk so stupid, always off skipping class and failing no wonder dad and mom dislike you."
"Jessica if I sew your mouth shut would you become mute?" Samantha asked before Jessica can say anything the door was slammed in her face and she screamed out of anger and stormed her feet as she stormed off.
