Chapter 18: What Happened to the Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring? So Good!
God Realm. Within the heart of a grand, majestic palace—
Zu Zong sat on the throne at the center of the great hall, surrounded by his many wives.
Second wife Qian Renxue: "Little brother, I've peeled a grape for you. Aaah~"
Zu Zong: "No, I want you to feed me with your mouth."
Qian Renxue: "You're so bad!"
—The two kissed passionately!
Third wife Hu Liena: "Husband, me too!"
Fourth wife Zhu Zhuqing: "I want in!"
First wife Bibi Dong sat to the side, cradling their newborn child, unmoved. She turned and left to feed the baby, but not before throwing out a line dripping with dominance: "Tonight, Snowy's watching the baby. You—come to me. Don't. Be. Late." Each word struck like a hammer, making Zu Zong and the other girls tremble.
Later that night, Zu Zong arrived on time at Bibi Dong's chambers. He pushed open the door only to be hit by the thick scent of rabbit—it wasn't unpleasant, with a slight milky sweetness, but still, it unsettled him.
He looked around but found no trace of Bibi Dong.
Pulling back the curtain to the inner room, he saw a girl dressed in seductive attire, her beauty easily rivaling that of Bibi Dong. The curves on her chest completely locked Zu Zong's gaze. Her long black hair was tied into a scorpion braid down to her hips. Her watery eyes shimmered with temptation.
Seeing her, Zu Zong felt his blood boil. Heat surged through his body, and he instinctively licked his lips. But he was the God Realm's Supreme—he wasn't that easy to shake. He forced down the rising desire.
The girl didn't panic at all. She smiled sweetly. "Master, Sister Bibi Dong went to prepare your midnight snack. She'll be back soon. There are fresh fruits on the table too. So… would you like fruit first, the midnight snack, or—me—first?"
That sentence completely shattered Zu Zong's last shred of reason. Without hesitation, he pounced.
Cough cough—any more and we'll get banned.
After the storm passed, the girl lay in Zu Zong's arms, cooing, "Master, from today onward, can I officially be your Xiao Wu?"
Zu Zong replied, "Let's wait a bit longer."
Hearing that, Xiao Wu pouted and stormed out.
The next morning—
Seven or eight little rabbits were hopping all over Zu Zong, chirping "Daddy!" as they bounced on his chest.
Zu Zong shot up in horror. "Who can tell me where these rabbits came from?! Xue'er? Nana? Zhuqing? Dong'er?!"
Just then, Xiao Wu walked in, smiling smugly. "Dear, stop shouting. No one's coming to save you. The sisters went shopping with my mom on Blue Star. One day up here is a year down there. I picked today to give myself to you on purpose! After I left last night, I spent three months in the mortal realm—(rabbits give birth every three months, right?)—and just got back."
"Look, all your kids!"
———
"Ahhh! I hate rabbits!"
Zu Zong bolted upright, gasping. He looked around—pitch black. Still in Dorm Seven. He wasn't the ruler of the God Realm, hadn't married a harem, and didn't have rabbit children.
Everyone else was already fast asleep.
Zu Zong wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "Whew! Scared me to death—it was just a dream."
"Xiao Zong… no, Master… give me another bite of your tender grass…" Zu Zong looked down and saw Xiao Wu mumbling in her sleep, drooling at the mouth. "Carrots… tender grass… so yummy…"
Zu Zong's lips twitched. "She's such a glutton—dreaming about food too?"
Back to earlier that day.
Xiao Wu lay shamelessly on Zu Zong's bed, spouting bold words—she would protect that blanket with its unique "scent" even if it cost her her purity.
Even when Zu Zong offered to buy her a brand-new one, she wouldn't budge. Left with no choice, Zu Zong proposed a duel: winner gets the blanket and the title of Dorm Seven boss.
Unsurprisingly, Xiao Wu was instantly defeated.
Her soft-style techniques were full of flaws in the eyes of Zu Zong, who possessed Itachi's taijutsu and the Sharingan. With one "Uchiha-style" grapple, he locked her joints and pinned her to the floor.
After losing, Xiao Wu clung to Zu Zong like glue for the entire afternoon. She followed him everywhere, crying to anyone who would listen that Zu Zong bullied her. All the girls in the academy who had once admired Zu Zong's "beauty" now looked at him with disdain, gossiping that he was a scumbag who toyed with girls' feelings.
Zu Zong didn't care about others' opinions.
But even the teaching director, Franklin, came to scold him in a "voice of experience": "Ah, little Zu Zong, being popular with girls is good, but you can't just play with their feelings!"
Out of respect for Franklin, who genuinely looked after him, Zu Zong finally compromised—he bought Xiao Wu a new blanket and promised her three fresh Blue Silver shoots every day.
But Zu Zong wasn't one to take losses. If Xiao Wu wanted Blue Silver Emperor tender shoots, she had to call him "Master."
And thus, their "master-servant" relationship was born.
That night, after days of fatigue, Zu Zong drifted toward sleep. But just as he lay down, Xiao Wu roped in Wang Sheng and the others to help move her bed next to his.
She pushed the two beds together. Her reasoning?
"The smell from your blanket helps me sleep better."
"Sigh… what a sin this is…" Zu Zong muttered.
Now awake, he didn't bother going back to sleep.
After all, he still had 14 steal attempts left!
Just as he stepped out of bed, ready to start, he heard Xiao Wu's voice again. It was soft, sorrowful, and even laced with a bit of sobbing.
"Mom… Xiao Wu misses you…"
Zu Zong froze.
An indescribable sorrow tugged at his heart.
He had no memory of what his parents looked like in this life—he was only an infant when they died protecting him—but he still remembered the feeling of losing them.
Without a word, he turned back and gently pulled the blanket over Xiao Wu. Then, he placed his own blanket beside her pillow before silently leaving.
Walking quietly through the door of Dorm Seven, he looked up at the sky.
The moonlight draped across the world like silver thread. Misty and dreamlike, it spilled down like a veil, soft and hard to see through clearly.
A shooting star streaked across the sky.
Zu Zong let out a long sigh. "Forget it. I don't need this soul ring anymore."
"System, begin the steal!"
