Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Shadows That Whispered My Name

After everything—

The heartbreak, the trauma, the silent healing…

Siya thought life was finally quiet.

But sometimes, when the world goes silent,

the other world starts to speak.

It began with a dream.

She was sleeping on her bed, as usual.

Everything felt normal.

Until something whispered.

"Siya..."

Not her mother.

Not her brother.

Something else.

She woke up.

Room dark. Fan spinning.

Her blanket halfway on the floor.

Maybe a dream?

She pulled it back and went to sleep.

🕯️ The First Sign

The next night, it happened again.

She felt her blanket slowly sliding down her legs.

Half-asleep, she thought it was just her tossing.

But when she woke up, the blanket was folded neatly on the floor—

in a shape she hadn't made.

That night, she felt cold.

But not the cold of winter.

The cold of something watching.

🕶️ The Shadow Near The Wall

Days passed.

She tried to ignore it.

Until one night…

She woke up at 2:47 a.m.

Eyes opened on their own.

There was a figure near the corner of her room.

Black.

Still.

Too tall to be her brother.

Too real to be imagination.

It didn't move.

It didn't blink.

Just stood there.

She covered herself in her blanket, heart pounding like a drum.

"It's not real. It's not real."

But when she peeked out again—

it was standing closer.

😱 Physical Fear

She began waking up with:

• Scratch marks on her leg.

• Bruises that she never remembered getting.

• And the worst—sleep paralysis, where she couldn't scream, move, or even breathe properly.

She once saw the same shadow crouched over her, pressing on her chest.

Her mouth opened to scream but no sound came out.

When she could finally move, she rushed to the mirror.

Her neck had a red handprint.

🤯 Losing Control

She stopped sleeping properly.

Became distant.

Angry. Tired.

She told her mother once, quietly,

"Maa, raat ko koi aata hai mere kamre mein."

Her mother brushed it off.

"Sapna hoga. Phone kam chalaya kar."

But then her mother saw it too.

One night, while walking to the washroom, her mother saw Siya talking to the wall.

Whispering something like a chant.

Eyes wide open.

Her mother froze.

"Siya?"

No reply.

When she touched her shoulder, Siya turned around and screamed like a possessed girl.

🪶 The Ritual (Jhaad-Phook)

That was the last straw.

Her parents took her to a local ojha—a spiritual healer.

An old woman who lived near the outskirts of town.

She looked at Siya once and said:

"Yeh ladki akeli nahi hai."

(This girl is not alone.)

They lit incense.

Circles of salt.

Chanted ancient mantras.

Siya's body began shaking uncontrollably.

She cried.

Laughed.

Screamed.

Voices came out of her throat—but none of them were hers.

The old woman continued.

Burnt chilies.

Tied black threads on her wrist.

Made her drink gangajal.

When the ritual ended…

Siya collapsed in her mother's arms.

She was finally still.

Breathing normal.

And when she woke up…

she didn't remember anything.

🕳️ Aftermath

That corner of her room?

They covered it with a mirror.

She was told to keep a lemon and 7 green chilies hanging on the door.

To never sleep without chanting Hanuman Chalisa.

She did everything.

Because whatever that thing was—

It had touched her soul.
