"You're bluffing," Bella snarled, but her voice wavered. "He's not dangerous. He's just a lucky fraud."
"Keep telling yourself that," Evelyn replied coolly. "Maybe it will make what's coming easier to accept."
I'd heard enough. Time to make my entrance.
I walked calmly to the front door and knocked three times. The sound echoed through the villa like gunshots.
The conversation inside stopped abruptly.
"That's him," Clara whispered, fear creeping into her voice.
"Remember the plan," Bella hissed. "We have all the power here."
Footsteps approached the door. A burly man I didn't recognize opened it cautiously, keeping a gun hidden behind his back.
"Ethan Hayes?" he asked gruffly.
"That's me," I replied, raising my hands slightly. "I'm here as requested."
He stepped aside, gesturing for me to enter. "Move slowly. No sudden movements."
