In the year 1340 of the Shire Reckoning, one year before the departure of the Lonely Mountain expedition, the Grey Wizard had yet to visit the Shire, the Dwarf King was still forging weapons in the Blue Mountains, and the dragon still slept deep within the mountain… In that very year, a young wizard unexpectedly crossed into Middle-earth, carrying the Hogwarts Sign-in System. Chapter 1 - Sign in to Shire

In the midst of the boundless chaos.

A golden meteor streaked from beyond countless universes, heading towards the depths of chaos.

But just as it passed a magnificent universe, an supreme will within the cosmos cast its gaze, accompanied by waves of music, sacred, supreme, and grand.

With just one look, the golden meteor was seen through by Him.

And so, the meteor suddenly changed direction, drawn into and merging with this universe.

A new, unprecedented musical note appeared, bringing a new melody to this world composed of the Great Music, adding a touch of agility to the originally grand composition.

… …

"Hey, sir, wake up!"

Waking from his slumber, Dui heard a voice beside his ear.

Opening his eyes, he saw a wild green forest.

Before him stood a person looking at him with a worried expression.

Dui was a bit bewildered; shouldn't he be sleeping at home? Why was he lying in the wilderness?

And who was this foreigner in front of him?

With questions in his heart, he directly asked.

"Who are you?"

"Uh, I'm Bilbo, Bilbo Baggins, sir."

Bilbo Baggins? Why did that sound a little familiar?

Suddenly, he froze, his eyes widening in disbelief.

How could he, someone whose English grades in school always hovered around the passing mark, suddenly understand what this person was saying!

He even spoke in the other person's language, as if it were his native tongue, an instinct.

When he stood up with a mix of surprise and doubt, he noticed that the Bilbo in front of him was less than half his height.

A dwarf?

He didn't look like one.

Upon closer inspection,

He realized this little fellow had a pair of pointed ears, and his wide feet were not wearing shoes but had thick pads and fur.

This was not a known human race at all!

Connecting this with his name, an absurd guess popped into his mind.

"You're a Hobbit?!"

The simple Hobbit nodded sincerely.

"Then where is this?"

"This is the Shire, Hobbiton in the Shire, sir."

Dui completely gave up hope.

Heavens, what exactly was happening?

How did he wake up to find himself transmigrated, and to such a dangerous world at that?

One must know that this place not only had extraordinary species like Orcs, Trolls, and Elves, but also Wizards, Dragons, Balrogs, and Maia, who were lesser gods, as well as the god-level Valar, and even the Creator Iluvatar.

How could he, an ordinary person, survive here?

This was practically a hell-difficulty start!

Bilbo watched the human in front of him, his expression changing like a palette, and couldn't help but discreetly step back a few paces.

This human seemed a bit mentally unstable.

But as a kind and friendly Hobbit, he couldn't bring himself to abandon someone.

"Uh, sir, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, I just can't find my way home!" Dui said with a bitter smile.

"Are you lost?"

Bilbo asked in surprise,

"Perhaps you could buy a map in the village; they sell maps of areas outside the Shire there."

Dui shook his head, disheartened and powerless,

"My home is very far away, perhaps I'll never reach it in my lifetime."

Bilbo's expression was blank, somewhat unable to comprehend how far the distance he spoke of was.

But looking at this human surrounded by loneliness and sadness, the kind Hobbit felt a bit flustered, unsure how to comfort him.

"Uh, sir, I mean, perhaps you'd like to be my guest at my house?"

Dui looked up, a hint of surprise appearing in his sorrowful expression.

Being looked at like that, Bilbo felt a bit embarrassed.

"We rarely have outsiders in the Shire. If you have nowhere else to go, you can stay at my place for a few days."

Dui immediately showed a grateful expression and readily agreed.

"Thank you for taking me in, Mister Bilbo Baggins, you are truly a good person!"

Being praised, Bilbo was very embarrassed.

"Ahem, then please follow me, sir."

Saying that, he slung the fishing rod, which was more than twice his height, over his shoulder, and carried the fishing bucket in the other hand, leading the way.

Meanwhile, Dui, walking behind, his sad expression abruptly vanished, and he secretly let out a sigh of relief.

Although his emotions were not fake, what he had just shown was mostly an act for Bilbo.

All just to gain the Hobbit's sympathy and a place to stay.

After all, he had transmigrated alone to this unfamiliar world,

If no one took him in, he would probably have to sleep rough in the wilderness.

Moreover, as far as he knew, Bilbo Baggins, in a sense, could be considered one of the protagonists of this world.

No matter what his future plans were, being near the protagonist would provide more opportunities and choices.

Along the winding path, they passed by numerous Hobbit houses.

These houses were very characteristic of Hobbits; most were built into hillsides, with grassy slopes for roofs, round wooden doors painted light green, light yellow, or light blue, and gardens full of blooming flowers in front.

They were like rabbit holes from a fairy tale.

The Hobbits passing by all curiously poked their heads out from their gardens, observing the human following Bilbo.

Bilbo, uncharacteristically, did not actively greet these neighbors and even unconsciously quickened his pace.

Dui, on the other hand, didn't mind being watched at all, and actively smiled and nodded at these Hobbits.

The two arrived at a cave-like building at the end of the path. A wooden sign hung at the gate of the yard, inscribed with "Bag End."

This was Bilbo Baggins' home.

Bag End's garden was neat and beautiful, clearly well-cared for by its owner.

"I forgot to ask your name, sir, what is it?" Bilbo asked after opening the door.

"My name is Dui... Yier?"

Just as Dui was about to say his name, the name Du Yier suddenly popped into his mind, and his mouth unconsciously spoke it.

As if that was his name all along!

What was going on?

Dui's heart trembled; when did he get this name?

Bilbo didn't notice Dui's abnormality, and as he entered, he reminded him, "Alright, Du Yier, please remember to duck your head when you come in. After all, as you know, you humans are much taller than us."

"Bang!" Dui, not paying attention, directly hit his head on the doorframe, instantly clutching his head and crying out in pain.

"Um, Mister Du Yier, are you alright?" Bilbo asked with concern, trying to hold back a laugh.

"I'm fine!" Dui rubbed his head, waving his hand.

Now he couldn't afford to overthink things; this Hobbit hole was a bit unfriendly to his 1.85-meter height. He could only walk with his head down and back bent, fearing he would hit the doorframe again.

Unable to figure it out, he simply stopped thinking and found a seat to sit down.

Bilbo, meanwhile, darted into the kitchen to prepare to entertain Dui.

[Hogwarts Sign-in System: Location Shire - Hobbiton - Bag End, do you wish to sign in?]

A text box appeared out of thin air before Dui's eyes.

"What the hell?!"

Dui was startled.

"What's wrong, Mister Du Yier?" Bilbo poked his head out from the kitchen.

"Nothing... Nothing!" Dui realized the other person hadn't seen the text box in front of him, and immediately shook his head after reacting.
