And so here i was.
Now, anyone with an IQ above room temperature could guessed where this scene was going.
Silence for a short while, and then the transmigrated protaginist gets tested by the system. Maybe some kind of monsters, maybe hallacinations—heck i was even prepared for the bush next to me to turn into some kind of eldrich horror.
Funnily enough.
There was nothing.
Abosuletly nothing.
Except, maybe the sound of the swaying trees, and the rustle of the passing wind. No roars. No evil screeches. No eldrich horror lurking behind me biding its sweet time to jump at me.
It was unsettling, if i had to be honest.
I mean, the system did say this was some kind of magical foret. Who was it to question it.
Anyways...
I sat there for a few seconds, trying to process what was worse—Dying alone in my miserable apartment, or transmigrating into a magical forest where nothing was happening.
I stared at the ground for the moment, basking in the stupidity of it all—i mean, who could even blame me at this point—all i could do was sit and think...
And then unsuprisingly, the air shifted.
I braced.
This was supposed to be the part where I meet a goddess. Or a slime. Or some kind of sentient sword.
Tense silence held for a moment.
"Hands on the air!" A deep voice roared out of nowhere, startling the living daylights out of me.
My body moved into submission before i could even see who had just screamed at me. A jolt of fear ran down my spine, my legs buckled, and my hots shot up into the air.
This was it. Two minutes into my new life, and it was already over.
I let out a small squeak—not my proudest moment—and kneeled on the ground, not daring to move as light footsteps approached me, eventually coming to a stop just behind me.
"Identify yourself!" The voice commanded once more, a little more cautious this time.
"I uhh..."

Perfect, i was almost about to forget my own damn name.
"Kim. I'm Kim" I blurted out, my voice still small and shaking despite my best efforts.
Tense silence held for a moment. Then the person behind me shifted, and i felt the cold bite of steel pressing into my neck.
"We're not trying to play games here. I said, identify yourself." The person growled, terryfying close to my ear, and it was harder to determine who it was coming from. Too high for man, too deep for a woman, a little harsh, but also soft at the same time.
My mind struggled to find some kind of meaning to this situation, eventually going silent as nothing came up.
"You should just kill it." Another voice spoke from somewhere further behind, this one more softer—most likely that of a woman.
But i was too preoccupied with another question to pay more attention.
It?
What do you 'it'!? You son of a bi-
"We could maybe sell him" My captive interrupted me before i could blurt out something i regretted.
Atleast the person with a literal sword to my throat considered me human...
"Yeah whatever. Throw it into the cart then" The woman grunted, and she walked away, leaving me and the other person alone.
Wait Wait WAIT
"What do you mea-"
That was all i was able to blurt out before pain bloomed in the back of head, and i promptly proceeded black out.
