The money lightcreot in slowly through the curtains, soft and golden, but Velma felt none of its warmth ,she had barely slept. The way Daniel's parents hadn't said a word to her before retreating behind their bedroom door ,it pressed against her chest like a quiet accusation ,so before Daniel woke up she got dressed she didn't want to be there when theeir eyes woke. She made her way to the door and opened it but then she froze. Olivia was standing on the other side. She wore a calm expression that she always wore when she is angry angry but pretending to not to be. Velma blinked. Olivia smile didn't reach our eyes "you didn't waste time did you?". Before Verma could respond, Olivia stepped forward and grab her arm and pulled her down the hallway past the silent kitchen into an empty guest room.
The dog clicked shut . "I should have known you try to do this again", Olivia said, voice low but sharp. " Back then you walk away and now you slithered back like nothing happened". Velma took a slow breath " I didn't sneak anywhere Daniel and I...", Velma tried to explain" Daniel is confused", Olivia snapped "his parents are upset do you know what this will do to them?to me?, Olivia added."But this isn't about you anymore", Velma muttered." Don't lie",Olivia hissed "you are trying to win , always the quiet sweet one who plays the victim but I stayed , I sat with him through thee worst, I carried what you dropped", Olivia said not ready to give up .Velma's eyes narrowed" you played along in a relationship he didn't want". Olivia froze " he told you that didn't he?," Olivia asked voice hollow. Velma didn't answer, she didn't have to. Olivia shook her head, her voice trembling." You think because he is running back to you I will disappear ,I have been here I built my place beside him". " Then maybe you should ask him why he keeps turning around". A thick silence filled the space between them. Olivia's jaw clenched, I'm not giving up not now". velma opened the door slowly , sunlight flooding in,"then you keep fighting for someone who already made the choice" and without waiting for a response Velma walked out outside .
The sky was bright and calm but behind her, the storm was far from being over but she wasn't running, she was ready to face it.
