I barely had time to set my bag down at my desk when Adrian Thorne appeared, nervously shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
"Elara, a word?" His voice was hushed, eyes darting around the office.
I sighed. "What is it, Adrian?"
He leaned closer. "Look, I know we're not exactly friends, but I'm warning you—side with Caleb Sterling. This thing is bigger than you realize."
"And why should I care what you think?" I kept my voice level, refusing to show any reaction.
"Because I've seen the evidence they have against you," he whispered. "It's bad, Elara. Really bad."
Before I could respond, I spotted my team huddled near the conference room, faces drawn with worry. I brushed past Adrian and headed straight for them.
"What's happening?" I asked, taking in their anxious expressions.
Leo Finch, my direct supervisor, stepped forward. "Elara, thank god you're here. Administrative called an emergency meeting. They want us there in ten minutes."
