Chapter 16
In the snow-covered plains of the Land of Iron, two figures suddenly appeared in front of Danzo and his subordinates—Naruto and Orochimaru.
Unlike the last time at the bridge battlefield, Naruto hadn't given chase. He arrived directly using the Flying Thunder God technique, intercepting Danzo before he could even leave the country's borders. The timing was intentional.
Danzo's eyes narrowed as he glanced at his shoulder. "So he marked me earlier with the Flying Thunder God... but waited until I left the summit to avoid dragging the other Kage into this."
Orochimaru chuckled, almost playfully. "Danzo... It's been a while. How's that arm of yours working out?"
Danzo ignored him. With deliberate movements, he dropped his cane and began unwrapping the bandages around his right arm, revealing a metal-plated gauntlet covering his forearm.
"Fuu, Torune. Buy me some time. I need to release the seal on this arm."
"Yes, sir," the two replied in unison, stepping forward without hesitation.
Danzo didn't look up. "Naruto took Nagato's body. He's likely inherited the power of the Rinnegan. Be careful."
He unclasped the first latch of his gauntlet.
Naruto stood his ground, expression unreadable beneath his mask. "I'm only here for Danzo. If you insist on blocking me, I won't hold back."
Torune didn't flinch. "Then you'll have to walk over our corpses first."
Naruto replied coldly, "That's unfortunate."
Fuu, the Yamanaka, already had his hands formed into a peculiar seal as he prepared to strike.
Naruto's eyes narrowed. That technique...
"This one never fails," Fuu muttered.
— Mind Transfer Jutsu.
With a pulse of chakra, Fuu's consciousness shot into Naruto's body. Inside, he immediately tried to force Naruto's hand to raise a kunai and stab out his left eye.
"If I destroy your eye, my own will be damaged too, but it's worth it..."
But the moment the blade neared Naruto's eye, it froze. No matter how hard Fuu tried, the kunai wouldn't budge another inch.
Seconds passed. Naruto's body trembled briefly, then went still.
Fuu's eyes snapped open. "Failed. His will is too strong... I only lasted three seconds inside his mind."
"Then I'll use my technique," said Torune, stepping forward. He opened his shirt, revealing his torso covered in dark purple blotches.
Orochimaru spoke from the side, voice calm. "He's the son of Shikuro from the Aburame clan. His body is host to nano-sized venomous insects. You don't have the First Hokage's cells, Naruto. If even one of those touches you, you'll die."
"I know."
Naruto's left eye shifted slightly beneath the mask.
— Shinra Tensei.
Boom.
An invisible wave blasted outward. Torune, just steps away, was thrown back violently. He tumbled across the snow, coughing blood.
Fuu stared, stunned. "That... was the Rinnegan's repulsion ability?"
Torune groaned. "It's like every bone in my body just shattered. Two more hits like that, and I'm done for..."
Naruto calmly reached into his pouch and pulled out a black glove, slipping it onto his left hand. He raised his palm toward Torune.
— Bansho Ten'in.
A powerful gravitational force yanked Torune from the ground, dragging him helplessly toward Naruto.
"No!" Fuu lunged forward, grabbing Torune mid-air and anchoring himself by throwing a chain around a distant tree.
They held firm for a moment—until purple began to spread from Torune's skin into Fuu's arm.
Torune panicked. "Fuu! Let go! You'll be infected!"
Fuu gritted his teeth and said nothing.
Naruto's eyes narrowed. The pull intensified.
In an instant, Fuu's grip broke. Torune was pulled forward like a rag doll. Naruto pressed his gloved hand against the man's chest and tugged.
— Human Path.
Torune's soul was ripped from his body in a single motion. The lifeless husk fell to the snow.
— Naraka Path.
A black flame rose from the ground, forming the jaw of the King of Hell. It swallowed both the body and soul of Torune and vanished into the void.
Naruto removed the glove and tossed it aside.
He looked toward Fuu. "You want to join him?"
Fuu said nothing, but glanced back. Danzo was still calmly unfastening the latches on his armored arm. Cold. Detached. He hadn't moved once for either of his subordinates.
"I joined Root knowing I'd die for Danzo," Fuu muttered.
Without hesitating, he took a blade and severed the infected arm. Blood splattered the snow, but he didn't even bother wrapping the wound. He charged, sword in hand, eyes locked on Naruto.
Another pulse.
Boom.
Fuu was blasted backward before he could swing. He hit the ground hard, dazed, and barely registered the black chakra rod stabbing into his heart.
His body stilled.
Naruto stood over the fallen ninja in silence.
"Even if you walk in the shadows of Root," he said softly, "you're still ninja. Yamanaka Fuu. Aburame Torune. I'll remember your names."
In the time they bought with their lives, Danzo had completed the unsealing. His right arm was now exposed—ten Sharingan eyes embedded in a mass of flesh and muscle, all spinning irregularly.
Naruto's gaze hardened.
"That arm... the fusion of Senju and Uchiha... If I remember right, it's made using cells from Shin Uchiha."
Orochimaru confirmed from the side. "Correct. Shin's body had no rejection response. That arm carries both Uchiha's Sharingan and Hashirama's cells. The perfect blend."
Naruto's fists clenched.
No wonder Sasuke lost control when he saw this. Even I can't help the anger.
Danzo calmly raised his head. "So... You've gained the Rinnegan from Nagato. And it seems you've learned to wield it. But even with that power, you won't win against me. Not with Senju and Uchiha flowing in my veins."
His fingers danced through seals—three in rapid succession.
Naruto didn't move. His gaze sharpened.
"Izanagi..."
Orochimaru stepped back, giving the space to Naruto.
"Danzo with Senju and Uchiha power. Naruto with the Rinnegan. Both carry the blood of the Six Paths. Let's see what fate decides."
Danzo's voice echoed ominously.
"I never got Shisui's left eye... but maybe that was destiny. Perhaps fate intended for me to inherit the Rinnegan instead. I will take that eye from you now, Naruto Uzumaki."
With a burst of speed, Danzo lunged forward, aiming straight for Naruto's left eye. His palm, glowing with chakra, closed in—no hesitation, no mercy.
