Chapter 4 - Chapter Four: Strange Text Messages

Lying alone in the hospital bed, I felt extremely bored and my attention naturally focused on the jade bracelet on my wrist.

While watching, I discovered a strange phenomenon. Under the dim light, the jade bracelet was emitting a pale yellow luster that seemed to be constantly flowing, as if it were alive and had no fixed shape. I blinked hard, hoping to see the jade bracelet more clearly. However, my efforts were in vain. I couldn't even make out the shape of the jade bracelet clearly.

I attributed this strange phenomenon to the fact that I had just recovered from a serious illness and my consciousness was still not very clear.

This was the first time I had carefully observed this jade bracelet. Unexpectedly, a strong sense of possession arose in my heart. I have to admit that I am a person who is very fond of money. If this jade bracelet is really valuable, I have decided to take a risk and send the photos I took to the discipline inspection commission of this city. It's all nonsense to say that the common people don't fight with the government. The greatest fool is to give up a large sum of wealth.

After playing with the jade bracelet for about seven or eight minutes, I put it back on my wrist. It was at this moment that the phone by the bedside beeped and a text message came in.

Nowadays, mobile operators have adopted some humanized policies. When the bill is in arrears, they first suspend outbound calls and then inbound calls. Unlike before, they are very domineering and will suddenly shut down all functions, catching customers off guard.

I picked up my phone and pressed the receive button. The first thing that caught my eye was a strange phone number: 0000000. There were actually seven zeros. I gave a wry smile and took it for granted that this was an advertising message sent by the operator.

To my surprise, this is not an advertisement. At twelve o 'clock tonight, I will push open your door and soothe your lonely heart with my tenderness. The signature was a girl's name: Tang Meili.

In my memory, I have never come into contact with a girl named Tang Meili. This must have been sent to the wrong person or it was a deliberately harassing message. I cursed inwardly for being bored and casually threw my phone by the bedside.

But less than ten minutes later, the phone rang again. It was still the same message. The girl who called herself Tang Meili claimed that she would open my door at exactly twelve o 'clock tonight. I was extremely annoyed and had already made up my mind that this must be a prank. So, I turned off my mobile phone.

However, something strange happened. Ten minutes later, the phone that had been turned off automatically turned on, and the same short message was sent back again. At this moment, I didn't think carefully about the reason why my phone turned on automatically. Instead, I was very angry. I picked up my phone, tried to press the reply button once and asked, "Who are you? Don't bother me anymore."

A few seconds later, a text message arrived as scheduled: "I'm Tang Meili, the most important woman in your life."

I didn't sleep well yesterday and got heatstroke in the afternoon. I felt very tired at first. But at this moment, all my weariness vanished and I developed a strong interest in the girl who had sent the message. Anyway, I'm in the hospital now and feeling very bored all by myself. It's such a long night. Why not joke around with her a few words? Just consider it as entertainment.

How did you know my phone number and why did you send such a message? I replied.

This is the will of heaven. Heaven has arranged for us to have this marriage. The other party's response was vague but also ingenious.

Do you know where I am? Will you really come at twelve?

"I know. I'll come." You will have the most unforgettable night of your life.

We went back and forth, but I still regarded it as a game, so I didn't ask for the other person's specific identity. Time passed quickly. In the blink of an eye, it was past eleven o 'clock at night. At this moment, Tang Meili suddenly stopped replying to my text messages. I sent three consecutive messages, but the other party remained silent. I think the other person might be sleepy and have fallen asleep. The game is over here.

To be honest, I had a great time chatting for over an hour. After all, lying alone in a hospital bed, it's a very pleasant thing to have a mysterious girl to keep you happy. However, just when I thought the game was over and I was about to go to sleep, the text message came again. "I'll push open your door in twenty minutes." "

I checked the time. It was exactly 11:40. There were indeed twenty minutes left until 12 o 'clock. It seemed that this girl was determined to disturb my sleep, so I turned off my phone again.

However, at 11:50, my phone inexplicably turned on automatically again, and a short message came over: "In ten minutes, I'll push open your door."

I have to face up to this strange phenomenon. It's definitely no accident that the mobile phone turned on automatically twice. I've never heard of a mobile phone automatically turning on just for a text message. Could it be that there's something wrong with my phone, or that I didn't manage to shut it down at all? I carefully inspected my phone and even took off the battery panel to check it, but found nothing abnormal.

At 11:57, another text message arrived: "There are still three minutes left. Are you ready?"

It can be said that my heart is now filled with curiosity, and even anticipation. I just want to see what will happen at exactly twelve o 'clock. I placed my mobile phone on the bedside table, crossed my hands behind my head, and stared fixedly at the door of the ward.

Time passed minute by minute, feeling very long. When I was convinced that at least five minutes had passed, my tense nerves relaxed. It seems that this was indeed a prank. No one came at all.

I muttered a curse to myself, pulled the quilt aside and got ready to sleep. However, my movements suddenly froze. My body felt as if it had fallen into a huge ice cellar, and my heart almost reached my throat.

I saw the door handle of the room moving, though very slowly, it was indeed moving. There really is someone. Could this not be a prank? There really is a girl who would push open my door at twelve o 'clock! This is just too incredible. In this strange hospital and in this strange ward, who on earth could it be?

The door handle was finally turned to the right position, and the door made a slight click. The door slowly opened, and a cold current rushed into the ward. I couldn't help shivering.

Outside the door, I saw a woman, a woman all white!
